Having never been here before two items caught my eye, the Basic Burger and the Pulled Pork Sandwich. The waitress suggested the Pork Sandwich as it is smoked on premises so I went with that and I wish I hadn't. Maybe they forgot this batch was on the smoker because it was dry. I even requested additional BBQ sauce to rectify it, but Sweet Baby Ray's can't fix everything. Honestly, Jack Daniel's boxed pulled pork is 10 times better than this. I've never had Fry Sauce before and that was tasty. Waitress never checked on us minus me flagging her down when she was at another table for the BBQ sauce, meaning our drinks were never refilled. read more

Best place I have eaten in Ely. Friends had pork chops and salmon. I had a burger. Loved every moment and every bite. Not fancy but very good food and simple atmosphere. read more

Passing through on my Harley staying at Hotel Nevada the gals sent me to RACKS... I was thinking more like a Twin Peaks place... walked in pleasantly surprised! Great mounts on the wall and had an amazing dinner at the bar with great hospitality by the owner himself... when passing through Ely I recommend stopping by and trying it out! read more

I was excited to try this place but had to leave quickly because I was afraid of getting Covid. This place would have been an experience for tourists because it does look really cool with tons of locals dining in there. The food did look amazing but.....they are not taking Covid seriously. The indoor bar area was packed with people and all the customers were not wearing masks. My uncle almost died from Covid and I certainly don't want to get it. I do hope the owner of this place would reconsider doing only outdoor dining because they do have a nice outside space. It's safer for the staffs and customers. read more

My diet Pepsi tasted like it had some kind of cleaning fluid in it. The unfriendly waitress informed us there were only 2 items available on the dinner menu. At this point we walked out. Ely, Nevada the armpit of Nevada. Will not be coming back to this restaurant or the town. read more

Like another post said. " Don't judge a book by its cover" Ely is our stop driving through to Idaho. Every time we come here have yet to find decent food. We found this place not expecting much and to our surprise " it was awesome" I had the beef dip and my Husband had the pork chops. The salads were so crisp and new. Merlot wine was actually decent and the staff was great. Our food server Sierra was so nice and caring. We loved her and our food and night. Try it when passing through, you won't regret it. read more

This was one of my favorite meals on our road trip! Pulled Pork Sandwich was exceptional. The Bleu Moon Burger, Ah-mazing! My husband had the Chile and liked it. My brother-in-law had the cheeseburger and was satisfied. We all ordered the Onion Rings...BEST we ever had! We all are looking forward to driving through Ely and stopping by on our next road trip! read more

Absolutely delish! Our server was beyond friendly, welcoming, and didn't even bat an eye when my party of 12 showed up without warning. She kept all the littles entertained, recommended super tasty apps and main courses. This place and ambiance is great. Definitely stop in you won't be disappointed!! read more

The salads here are the absolute worst. The chicken spinach salad consisted of a small lump of spinach taken right out of a bag, a sad looking half of an egg, on chicken tender, and a small piece of bacon. This would be a sad side salad much less a main at $10.99. Such a ripoff! read more

First timers here as we travel across the country. Glad we picked this place! Bar and GREAT FOOD, with a nice patio in back. So you can pick seating at the Bar, inside restaurants on the patio. I had the pulled pork sandwich and my wife had the Beef Dip. The meat on both sandwiches were so tender. Service was friendly and fast from all staffers. We we'll be back here to try some of the other amazing food that walked by us. read more

I'm glad I finally stopped by this place on my way through town! It's a sports bar so it was packed with men watching baseball. The service was quick and friendly. I ordered the Malibu chicken sandwich with a side salad. It was great! The side salad was simple and fresh: romaine, small slice of tomato, small slice of cucumber, and croutons. My boyfriend got the chili burger with potato salad. I thought both of his items tasted great as well. Normally when I drive through I'll stop at Tonopah instead, but I might make this my go to! Prices were great and the selection was huge. Lots of burgers, sandwiches, wraps, salads, and a few dinners like chicken fried steak, pork chops, etc. read more

NOPE the cook was chomping down a sandwich in one hand while cooking our food in another. waitress was awesome but the food was horrible

Ordered by phone for takeout. They said it would be 20 min. I arrived and waited....it was over 30 min. And order was not turned in to kitchen until 5 min before I got food. Now I don't want to eat the food because the cook and the guy sweeping the kitchen floor were not wearing masks. read more

When I was here for work weeks on end..this place was a solid choice. The Taco Salad was tha bomb. The cook here does a great job making consistently good food. My wife liked the burgers when she came out to visit. The wait staff is hard working when the place is hopping, doing their best to get you what you need. Drink specials are pretty good too as are the dinner specials. read more

I would give Racks 5 Stars but one of the specialty menu items was not available; chorizo stuffed mushrooms, which sounded really good. This was due to a seasonal menu change. Instead I ordered the chorizo burger with the recommended Piccadilly Potatoes which were frozen fried fluffy potato nuggets..not good unless you have a craving for fried oil. I was told that since I took the recommendation of the waitress, I was only able to change to say, coleslaw for a charge. I declined. The chorizo burger was good and certainly filling. read more

Racks Bar and Grill - Chorizo burger. - American Near Me - Ely, Nevada

We had a great time here. They were busy and short-staffed but our beers were cold, the food was really good, and the restaurant/bar has a nice feel and vibe. I had the beef dip which had delicious roast beef and my husband had the wings which were surprisingly spicy and unique tasting. Ely is not a place we come to often, but I would gladly eat at Racks anytime we are back in town. Small town charm + yummy food = awesome. My family is full and happy! Thanks guys!! read more

Had lunch here Saturday, great service, friendly staff, dog friendly, and the French dip was amazing!!

Pit stop at Racks over Memorial weekend. I ordered the Gyro and my husband ordered the spicy chicken sandwich. Super tasty and fresh! They have a great outdoor patio space, and they keep the place tidy and clean. Family friendly. Only downfall are the hours of operation. We wanted to go back for dinner on Sunday but they were closed at 3pm. read more

If you are looking for great, fresh food, avoid this place. Everything we had was dripping in oil and had very little taste. I had their chorizo burger and it wasn't anything special, despite the fact it was recommended by the server. Their pulled pork was the best thing on the menu, but isn't anything to scream about. They lost their internet when we were ready to leave and it took them 20 mins to run our credit card. I realize this was beyond their control and we were happy when we were told we would be getting a discount to make up for it. We were very surprised that our "discount" amounted to a 15% card off a return visit... not this one. As if we would ever want to go back to this place? No thanks. This place relies on passing travelers instead of repeat business. Buyer beware! read more

The food is Good, loved their "special" sauce for the fries BUT They said that our take out food would be ready in 15 minutes and it took 40 minutes! Only HALF the staff were wearing masks (guy who brought out our food wasn't wearing one, from what we could see one chef did have it). So if you don't care about COVID, go in! Looks like a great place and they have a patio. Clean restrooms. CAUTION ordering take out if you are in a hurry like me w an 8 hour drive. read more

Sorry to say, Their food is all frozen and tastes like cardboard. For the amount they charge, it is not worth it. I will say the service staff is great. And it is smoke free!! read more

This place was OK, and had a good atmosphere. Service was really slow. Took us over 30 minutes just to get her check. It was a busy Saturday night, and looks like they were understaffed. read more

The food was good, the beer was cold, and the ambiance was that of a welcoming, small town bar.

Stopped on our way to Utah based on Yelp reviews. I had the beef dip and it was great. The meat had a perfect flavor as did the au jus. Pretty busy on a Saturday night but our food was served pretty fast. read more

Enjoyed this Ely meal. My crusted shrimp dish was very good. My guy' s salad was huge and is recommended. . Meatball app was tasty but accompanying red sauce was bland & thin. Backyard patio dinning was much appreciated. Service was friendly and great. Next time in Ely would return. read more

Food was so so for a local small town spot. No social distancing, out of most draft beers, but service was quick and friendly.

Great choice suggested by the KOA. Nice outdoor seating and service. Bread pudding was delicious.

We stopped here for lunch on our way through town and loved it! The onion rings were the best I've had in a long time... nice and crispy and not too greasy! Yummm! Burgers were delicious as well! read more

Good food and service. Outdoor seating. Local people eat here, always a good sign. Will stop there if we pass through again

Just went in for some dinner and ordered the Nevada Cheese Steak sandwich, witch had a lot of stuff on it, but no sauce. Very bland tasting without seasoning. Sandwich was 18.00 and a pint of 801 was 7.50, with tax and tip I spent 30 bucks and fries were lame. Also signs everywhere "We will not show NBA games so don't ask". Well I won't as I will never come back again. I do live in Ely and I will tell others how I fell, what a rip off. read more

We visited with a group of ten. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was quite good. Pricing was reasonable. There were some young guys who were a bit loud and obnoxious, but it is a bar. Comes with the territory sometimes. They didn't stay long. read more

Racks Bar and Grill - My delicious Southwest Burger... - American Near Me - Ely, Nevada

As we were driving US 50 in route to Lake Tahoe we stoped in the quaint town of Ely,NV. We decided to stay the night at the Hotel Nevada just a short walk to Racks Bar and Grill. The lady at the hotel registration recommended Racks for lunch. My wife and I split a salad and the Ruben sandwich, it was more than enough to share. The Ruben was excellent with lots of corned beef. Racks service and atmosphere was so comfortable that we decided to return that evening for dinner as well. We decided to split the salmon dinner as well as another salad, again the food, service were over the top. We will definitely stop again when we are passing through. Jim and Sharon read more

Love love love this hometown bar and restaurant. The food is great and is our favorite spot to stop when traveling through town. The vibe is really great too if you just want to have a beer and shoot the breeze with the nice bartenders. And their bread pudding is one of the best I've ever had! read more

Given Racks is a pub we were looking for a place for a beer and good burger. But our burger was not good and overpriced at $12. It was thin, overcooked and somewhat charred around the edges. We asked for another burger, but got the same thing again minus the charred edges. The waitress however was very friendly and pleasant, but way over worked. read more

Some of the best burgers we've ever had Highly recommend Good beer selection and great service read more

My husband I were traveling through Ely and happened upon this fabulous spot. As we are partial to brewpubs, we are always looking for one in the towns we visit. Racks did not disappoint! We actually ate there both nights we were in Ely, the first night husband had the pulled pork sandwich which was easily 1-1/2 inches thick with pork and he said it was really good. I had the chicken strips with stinger honey garlic sauce and it was the best sauce I have had. Went back today for the SHG pulled pork pizza and it was absolutely fantastic. Would definitely go again. Staff is friendly, competent and attentive. Food came very promptly. Definitely recommend. read more
