Do not eat here. Overpriced, horrible. We ordered a small order of 6 buffalo wings. They were the scrawniest wings I had ever been served, barely had sauce on them, accompanied by three meager celery sticks, two of which looked like they had freezer burn on them. $8.99 for 6 puny wings? Really?? Didn't have the chardonnay I ordered, got some lame house brand or something, In a tiny, aperitif type wine glass. Its not like I was going exotic, I ordered the Kendall Jackson Chard for heaven's sake. My chef salad, on the menu, was described as having spring mix and romaine. What showed up was a platter of iceberg lettuce, 4 mealy tomato slices, 4 dry cucumber slices, and a bounty of sliced deli meat and cheese. No thanks. At $14.99, I expected something a lot better. My husband's steak sandwich was a 1/2" thick, nearly raw, grisly sirloin steak of some sort, slapped on a bun with canned mushrooms and jarred garlic. We do not rate all food places by the same standard - I would not expect the food here to be the same as what I am used to at home, but c'mon, at least serve me food the way it is described on the menu and make it a relative good quality and at a price that matches that. read more

The shills skewed the ratings badly for this place. This place utterly sucks for anything other than cold beer and chicken wings. I had their 'signature' steak sandwich on a ciabatta roll. Terrible untrimmed 'steak', doused with 3 tablespoons of jarred garlic and canned mushroom slices, a soupcon of drawn butter, bloody rare. Unchewable. I send it back for more fire and they microwave the entire thing - the bread is as soggy as a sponge, the meat is now medium and proceeding to medium well before my eyes. My wife on the other hand ordered the Chef Salad, supposedly romaine, etc. Gets a plate of sliced unwashed iceberg, sliced deli meats, plus an egg she asked them to delete. Really, this sucks. At this moment my wife is at the grocery store next to our hotel trying to get some decent food, and that's where you should go too. If you are unfortunate enough to end up in Ely overnight, just give up on dining out, and DEFINITELY avoid this place. read more

We live in Southern California with hundreds of restaurants, but we found this small place in this small town on the same level of quality as nice places back home. The food was absolutely great and BIG portions of it, plus reasonable prices for what you get. The place was too noisy for us. We got there about 6pm on a Monday. It's a small place with fairly low ceilings. Lots of chatter plus a juke box playing. The food was gòod, service was good, waitress/bartender gretted us and was very pleasant. Prices for food & a pint of beer were on the high side for a neighbor hood bar/grill. Came into this bar with my wife for dinner, bad idea. There was a bartender there that made me, a graveyard bartender in Vegas, feel uncomfortable. There was a customer at the bar trying to hit on her, in his attempts to woo her he told multiple graphic stories about body fluids and sexual acts while we tried to eat our dinner. Two blonde bartenders continued to entertain and encourage the behavior, to the point that we both had to stop eating and cash the money out of our machines to leave. That process of cashing out took 15 minutes because the two blonde bartenders left a trainee behind the bar and she had no idea how to help us. There was no music in the bar, we were told the owner is cheap and won't pay for radio service and if we wanted music we could pay for it. Mind you my wife and I were both already in $100 each on video poker, we payed for our beers (most gaming bars in Nevada comp drinks while gambling and if they don't they let you know) losing 200 and then getting a bill for your beer is awful. Food was ok I guess ( taco salad with bbq on it and frozen fish and chips). The taco shell was old and the salad was smothered in bbq sauce and some spicy mayo I guess, pork was ok but didn't belong on a bed of iceberg with tomatoes and raw onion. The fish was prebattered frozen fish served with store bought tartar and frozen fries. If you are going to have mediocre food and gross staff, please at least allow us to gamble comfortably and maybe play some music. Also I didn't even know this bar had specials, just looked at other reviews that mentioned good specials that I was made aware of. Got to realize you're in ely folks, it's a small town with inconsistent business and peak seasons. With that being said the food is good for pub food. Want fancy food go to a fancy rest. With 25-50 plates. But for a quick stop and decent prices the food is as good as it should be. My wife and I were in ely for a week and stopped in a few times. We were happy with the food and the staff was friendly, even the locals in there were polite to obvious passerthroughs. The second time we ate there I had the Nevada cheese stake, and at 15 bucks it's one of the most expensive things, but it was well worth it. read more

After asking the waitress for a high chair (a fairly standard "family friendly" item) she chuckled and said they didn't have one. We decided to leave since the kids could not join us at the table. Oh my! The yummy smell of the BBQ is the first thing you notice. Then you see the clean area & feel the friendly atmosphere. They have several tables inside & a nice outdoor section where the oven/grill is. The service was good & the food quick. Pretty awful. Bland food, slow service and laughably incompetent wait staff. The bartender appeared to be about 14 years old and botched every drink order. I ate at the Cell Block a decade ago and didn't think it could get worse than that. And actually it didn't at Racks, but so close. Giving an extra star because it was cheap. This place had decent Yelp reviews and a good sized dinner crowd, so my expectations were high. Sadly, it didn't live up to the hype. They were out of the only decent craft beer on tap (and this was at about 7pm on a weekday), which was a bummer after a long day's car drive. It also took an absurdly long time for the server to acknowledge our presence. We sat outside on the patio (first checking in to make sure there was table service out there, which we were assured there was), only to do battle with the roughly 1235 mosquitos sharing our company. A couple citronella candles would've been a welcome addition to the patio... it's really kind of a cool place, but overrun with bugs. The food was just... bad. The side salad consisted of a couple chunks of hacked-off iceberg lettuce and maybe a sad little tomato slice or two. The french dip sandwich was even worse. Weird pressed meat (like Steak-Umm but worse), instead of the actual shaved roast beef that's supposed to comprise a french dip. We split it, but couldn't even bother finishing. Sadly, we noticed the smoker in the corner of the patio only after we'd ordered. It appears they do a house-smoked pork sandwich... which I would've loved to try! Too bad for us, we'd ordered the gross french dip already and didn't want to be the pain-in-the-ass sort of people who changed their order after the kitchen's already started preparing it. Oh well. Our loss is your gain. Don't order the french dip.... and if you get a chance to try the smoked pork sandwich, please message me and let me know how it was. Or don't... because I might be sad and jealous. Overpriced to begin with, and they actually charged us for the cheese on the french dip... despite the fact that it's listed on the menu as included on the sandwich. A cute patio for a few drinks with your best friends (and 1235 mosquitos), but I won't be back for the food anytime soon. read more

Found a table in the patio. We were greeted promptly by the server with 1 menu for 2. She came back shortly to take order. We ordered a Reuben and a taco salad,which she said we no longer offered. ordered cob salad instead.  Although tacky why not black out, or at least state when giving the menu not available. We got our beer and wine promptly,but this is where any good ended. We were not in any hurry at the time,but 30 min later a server asked us if we ordered food. We did, stated the items,she checked and came back and the kitchen didn't have the order. She said they would comp the meal. Another 30 min,no food, server checked again working on it. Finally,another 15,she brought one plate,and had drinks in other hand for someone else. Where's the salad,,I can only carry one plate she said. My Reuben with fries had like 10 fries,wouldn't fill up a McDonalds small fry bag. The food was ok,but I was upset by this time. Finished the meal and server brought bill for the drinks. I said I'm not paying for anything. I will get manager she said. Manager came out,and said you have to pay for the drinks,no I said,why should I,she said you drank them didn't you? She gave excuses that they were busy bla bla bla,and I will need to call the owner,fine I said.  I  was in the food business for 40 years,and that manager would not be working for me. read more

I really hate having to write a negative review about this business, every other time I've been was delicious! However, I pulled a hair out of my burger with my mouth after biting into it. Obviously this was not on purpose, but this negative review is based on what little action was done about it. The chef did not comp anything, nor apologize. Always eat here for lunch or dinner, wings are amazing and I recommend the Asian sweet and spicy. Burgers are Really good as well as 90% of the food on there menu.
