Food was average. I told the waitress "no" to "do you want tater tots, french fries, etc". She served my meal and said "0h, she put tater tots on your order" to which I replied "I'm not paying for them". Guess what. I got home, looked at receipt...Tater Tots $3.94. A scam, a ripoff, a common mistake???? I will take the receipt and inquire. read more

I tried this place for the second time. The first time was for the thanksgiving plate. Gravy all over the bag and all over the food. This time around Waited 30 min in the drive thru for 2 breakfast burritos I came inside and my food was just waiting on the counter. Literally made me late for work for 2 burritos ! Will never be coming back here again !! They swear it's all fresh but it's really not. cant even eat the burritos because the old tortillas are falling apart. Also a long women's hair in my burrito. I'm a male so it ain't mine for sure read more

I was eating here on a regular basis, but one morning I went to eat breakfast and not only was the breakfast terrible. But my waitress I've never seen before charged me 599 for chips and salsa. I always get chips and salsa and I've never been charged I paid I tipped I left Don't know if I'll be back read more

Ate breakfast here with my wife yesterday. We were told by our waitress that the kitchen was backed up so she had to wait to take our order. We decided to wait and boy was that a mistake... At the 15 minute mark we finally ordered a breakfast burrito and the rachael special. We finally got our food after being there for a grand total of 1 hour and 20 minutes. The drive thru takes priority here. I do NOT recommend sit down. The kitchen can not keep up with orders for sit down with drive thru open. Food was fine. Nothing special to bring us back. Waitress was friendly. read more

Not bad - not great. Better options in town for the price point. Tortilla was the best part, other items in breakfast burrito lacked flavor. Green salsa was extremely salty, may be a one off. 6.5/10. read more

Great food great service will be back again soon.God bless you wish you the best. Keep up the good work!

The worst service ever. Ordered 4 burritos and only got one right and was one short. When I called to inform them this was wrong and I was one short I was told the only way to fix it was to bring everything back and when I told them I was on the other side of town at covenant hospital I was told I still needed to come back to fix it. I just wanted to credit back my card for the one I was missing and still was told I needed to bring everything back. So I guess they really don't care about customer service. I will never be back and I'm sure they don't care. But I will let everyone I know how shitty this is. And they want me to add stars. Zero stars if I could. read more

I've never had a remotely bad thing at this place. It does take a while to get your food so expect to set some time aside for that but it's so worth it, and the waitresses are extremely polite and attentive. I love this spot! read more

Rachael's Restaurant - Philly cheesesteak, dirty rice, queso. - Mexican Near Me - Lubbock, Texas

First time here since it was rebranded from 82nd st Cafe. Came for breakfast with family. My daughter had one fav breakfast entree she liked and enjoyed today. I however ordered the migas. They were a disaster, no spice or seasoning. Just bland corn tortillas scrambled with eggs. Maybe I'm spoiled because I usually fix them at home with onion, garlic, a little tomato and salt and pepper. The refried beans came from a can or rehydrated and were actually the better part of the plate. My wife had eggs, sausage and potatoes. I saw that the sausage was a prefab patty. I suspect that they don't really fix much from scratch. At any rate she wasn't impressed. I think they try to make up for lack of skill by asking if you want their ranchera sauce on everything. I hate ranchera sauce. Next on to cleanliness. Our booth had food residue from a previous diner. The server grabbed a cloth, wiped the seat and then wiped the table with the same cloth, spreading residue from the seat to the table. The server was pleasant and attentive. Coffee was good. That's not enough to get a return trip from us however. read more

Hamburger Steak at Rachael's Restaurant! OMG. This is the closest I've ever tasted from back home. Cheese sticks - excellent! Cooked crispy, but not overdone Cheese burger - HUGE; toasted bun, handmade meat patty Fries - They were the side to the burger but could have been a meal on their own considering the portion served! Cooked to the perfect crispness on the outside while still soft on the inside! Chicken fried steak Mashed potatoes - actual potatoes, not instant White gravy - perfect consistency Green beans - bacon and flavorful Sweet tea - actually good tea, not weak sugar water The service was excellent! Friendly and laid back, and made sure that we were taken care of. We will definitely be back! $28 plus tip read more

Breakfast was okay but what wasn't okay was me placing my order at 8:10 and still not receiving it at 8:40. Bad service. If I wanted to sit in and dine for the wait I would've done that. Not feasible for those who are on their way to work! read more

The first order made they came back and told us they were out, so chose another item. After about 15 minutes waitress came back and said they were out of bread, so I chose another item. AFTER AT LEAST 45 MINUTES, IF NOT MORE, I went up to have them check our ORDER & THEY HADN'T EVEN STARTED IT!!! We walked out! Over 1 hour spent there for nothing 4 tables came in after us & all got there food and had already finished!!! Girls were more concerned about there phones & talking to each other ! Too bad this turned out so bad read more

I really used to like this place however over the course of the year it has deteriorated to the point of I will not return. The staff mainly the cooks are the culprit here. First time I've ran across this. There is no consistency whatsoever. Now someone has changed the recipe for the beans. They have gone from great beans to beans I can't eat due to this enormous amount of chili powder. I don't get it. The burritos will vary in size to varying quality of the ingredients. Again the cook. Man I hate to see this happen they did have good food. Great barbacoa too I'm gonna miss it. read more

Great breakfast and awesome service. Love this place. The praise music in the morning is a fantastic way to start the day!

I wanted to like this place. I always prefer eating at the small local diners. I read the reviews prior to eating here and realized that this is going to be interesting. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with bacon cuz the server said the biscuits are scratch made. These were the flattest, crumbliest biscuits I've ever seen...they just fell apart and the gravy was overly peppered. The coffee was some of the worst I've tasted. Then, to top it off, the bill was higher than expected cuz they raised the prices but it was not posted on the menu. I will not be coming back read more

I was hoping to find another go to place but was sadly disappointed. Ordered Barria tacos. They were decent but the cilantro was wilted and old. They were out of a few things. Ordered onion rings, they didn't have onions. Ordered a BLT there was very little bacon and it didn't taste right. Sadly we won't be back this was our 2nd visit with the last one being over a year ago because we didn't have a good experience then either. read more

Got burgers and fries. They were horrible. It took forever to get our order. After placing my order they had me park around the other side. I had to bang on the door after several minutes of waiting. The burgers were tasteless and the fries smelled as if they had been fried in ancient bacon fat. They tasted even worse. I wanted to like this place but would have gotten a better burger at Dairy Queen for less money. Sad but true. I won't be going to Racheals again. read more

Top notch food and service!! I was pleasantly delighted with this place. Ordered a double meat cheeseburger and I've gotta say it is one of the best I've ever had. And I am a burger snob. Great old fashioned burger with tender meat and lots of flavor. Friendly & attentive staff that you can tell take pride in their work. Always good- food is fab and waitresses are adorably nice! Visit Lubbock- visit Rachael's!

With a 50%+added in cost no one in the place at 6 pm and food is warmish at best... this used to be one of my favorite places to eat. You would think they'd have nothing better to do but prepare or warm up 2 meals for 33+$ but guess not read more

Actually didn't visit the restaurant but I had takeout which was bought by a friend of mine. This place shouldn't call their food mexican food but **Tex Mex. It's sorta misleading but living in Lubbock, TX it seems many restaurants are like that. Even for Tex Mex the food was less than mediocre. The beans and rice were pretty bland and the enchiladas were not only bland but had a rubbery texture to them. The only thing that had any flavor was the queso which just had too much going on to the point where it tasted like BBQ Fritos? I'm doing three stars because the price was fair for what you got. If you're gonna buy local mexican food I suggest somewhere like Taqueira Autlan. May be a dollar more but it's definitely worth it. read more

Pretty mediocre breakfast . Pictures and other reviews made it sound so good. Sad I took my son did his birthday & we could have had so much better ! Hopefully just an off day ! read more

Service was not great, we had to sit for quite a while without being waited on, then when we did get waited on and needed refills it took the waitress forever to get them. The girl who was checking us out at the end had a terrible attitude and made a sly comment as we were walking out. I addressed it with the owner who wouldn't even make eye contact as I way trying to talk to him. Not to mention we were charged $4.27 for a to go drink. Needless to say, we will not be back. read more

I rate this restaurant as one of the lowest in Lubbock as far as service is concerned. We have been there three times and each time has resulted in the same type of service. Today, we were seated and given our drinks and after 40 minutes, the waitress had not taken our order. I went to the counter and told the employee that we no be longer want to be served. On top of that they still had the nerve to charge us for drinks. On the other hand, let me tell you of a restaurant that has amazing customer service. The volume of customers that this restaurant receives is amazing. Farmhouse breakfast on 114th and Indiana absolutely amazing! Thru welcomed us and service was exceptional! read more

I was driving by Rachel's about 9AM on a Tuesday and decided to stop in for Breakfast. An older woman made her way to my table and took my order for coffee. When I asked for heavy cream, she seemed irritated and said they had half and half, which I told her would be fine. My coffee showed up and I placed my order for Chicken Fried Steak and eggs with a young woman. This same young woman came by 3 times to top off my coffee while I waited for my food. I politely thanked her each time. Eventually the older woman delivered my food in a rushed manner and took off. Probably because she seemed to be the only real waitress in the restaurant. I cut into the Chicken Fried Steak and quickly found it to be most probably a Sysco product. Delivered pre battered and frozen to save the restaurant prep time. The trouble is they taste exactly like they sound, without flavor. I ate it so that I would have something in my stomach. I wanted some Cholula or Tabasco sauce for my eggs, but the waitress never checked back with me, so I just skipped them and put a $20 bill under the edge of my plate and left. Lesson learned. Skip this place, we have several high-quality places for Breakfast in Lubbock, no need to waste your time here. read more

Have reviewed Rachel's before for breakfast but now offering up a lunch review. Staff is extremely friendly and great to be around. Food was good as well as I had a bacon cheese burger with tots. Problem I have is it cost right at $16 for my meal. At first I thought I was double charged but when looking closer was charged $7.95 for a burger and then another $7.95 to add bacon and cheese (and apparently the tots). I was under the impression the burger order came with tots because when I ordered she asked if I wanted fries or tots, not if I wanted to add an order of fries or tots. Certainly lesson learned. read more

I wanted a bacon cheese burger and onion rings I was so disappointed in what I got. I was expecting the ultimate for 15.00 but what u got was a bun you could not but into. Must have been weeks old. I went here around March and the food was horrible. The queso was basically watered down velveeta. The cheese in the enchiladas is like Kraft singles. It's not hard to make good enchiladas, but they found a way. Rachel can't cook. read more

The service was so friendly and timely. They were all extremely courteous. As far as the food goes, I ordered my favorite Huevos Rancheros. I loved it. It is one meal that I have never been thrilled with since I moved here, until now. I came with the refried beans and again, pretty much all the places in town they are pretty boring until now. Rachel's beans had great flavor. It also came with hash brown potatoes which could definitely use improvement which is why I gave a 4 instead of a 5. I liked the chips, they were fresh with a great corn taste, the salsa was spicy. My husband got a breakfast burrito and he is hard to please but he did love it. It was very large and the tortilla was very fresh. We will be going back read more

Needed a sit down breakfast stop before my husband and I hit the road back home! Looked on maps and this place popped up! It's printed an adorable color on the inside and out and I really appreciated all of the Americana decor inside! They also showed signs of support for local cheer teams which I always like to see in a community. We were immediately greeted upon entering and instructed to seat ourselves. We sat near the check out and I noticed that it was a really clean little spot- the entire restaurant! We were handed menus by a little boy and were then greeted by our waitress and asked for our drink orders! Drinks came back quick and a different waitress took our food order. I ordered the Migas and my husband ordered the huevos rancheros with sunny side up eggs! The migas came out a bit cold but the beans and hash browns were really hot and didn't need salt which I loved My husband also remarked that the eggs were super fresh! He also really like the pancakes! The service was quick for things like straws, hot sauce and to go cups even! A nice spot to have a quick breakfast at a reasonable price! If I ever come back to Lubbock, I'd check this place out again! read more
