There's a ton of options for apple picking in this area but we chose Race Farm because they had fresh veggies and fruits already picked, in a small market area (cider donuts as well!). It was pretty empty when we got there, and we sadly thought all the "good apples" were gone but nope! A ton of options, clearly labels with never ending rows of each kind. You get to grab a wagon, as many baskets as you'd like, and take your time roaming the area. (apples are about $1 per pound.) They also have pumpkins, raspberries, squash, tomatoes, etc etc! available for the picking. The drive out there is also very pleasant and colorful (spotted a rainbow on the way home even). Though we stayed about 30 min after their closing time, there was no rush or fuss. Also, there's plenty of parking available - but it's not exactly a lot.. You find a path of grass and park it :)

This is a great farm, its huge. I went here primarily for pumpkin and apple picking but also wound up picking kale right out of the ground and grabbed some cider and a cauliflower. You should probably get a little wheelbarrow to collect your findings. There were varieties of apples I had never heard of before and it was pretty clearly labeled and there was a map. I got a pretty large pumpkin here, they were about 79cents/lb. The people were friendly and although there were only two registers and no one seemed in a rush the line didn't take long. Inexplicably, an adolescent boy sitting on one of the hayride hit me with a BB gun. But I doubt this is part of the standard experience, just saying-beware!

October 24 -- still lots of pumpkins

We had a wonderful day at Race Farm. Arriving at 10am, there was still parking. The staff and visitors all wore masks, which made us feel safer. And the apples we picked are AMAZING. We took home a big basket of Ida Reds, from the back fields, and they made terrific applesauce. They are the tartest apples I've ever tasted. It's late October, and there are still raspberries and green beans, too. My kids (9 and 11) loved the chance to ride behind the tractor, and the driver was nice enough to wait for us while we picked out pumpkins. Still many good ones left! There are other farms with more gimmicks, but if you are looking for a safe outing, good veggies, and a chance to see pigs, this is perfect.

No masks

Walked up and was right away tuned back for not being able to wear a mask. The rest of my group did and this is an totally outdoor place to pick some apples. Been coming here for 18 yrs and this will be my last and they will never get my money! As I sit in my car I observed the parking area is littered with used masks and trash. Now others without masks and no one says anything Also no reserved parking for handicap....horrible!

During the visit, only three were available bring said the first week after its season opening. It was a great opportunity to be the firsts of many enjoying its full orchard entirety to ourselves . We were able to pick our ordered pieces. Pricing is per pound. Pricing is affordable and within the standard. They offer fresh picked vegetables, jams and fruit preserves as well. The teens on registers are so nice, helpful and honest to goodness kind hearted people. A recommended orchard in the area. Small but complete with what you need for apple season.

Car parking was easy as they have a huge parking area. No entrance fee, you just pay the apples that you pick. I love it that they provide you with a wagon, a basket, an apple picker and a plastic bag for a convenient and fun Apple picking experience. The staff gave us a warm welcome when we arrived at the apple orchard. They are friendly and knowledgeable about the farm, they know the areas where you are allowed to pick apples, they will give tips on the best Apple picking experience, help you find the right Apple variety for eating and baking and will have a chat with costumers to ensure that you will have a fun, safe and memorable day. Some of the Apple variety available in their farm includes Ginger gold, Gala, Honey crisp, McIntosh, Copeland, Macoun, Fiji, Red delicious, Golden delicious, Jonagold, Crisper, Cameo. After picking enough apples, we headed back to the pop-up canopies where we earlier met the staff. We noticed that they are selling a variety of vegetables which includes potatoes, string beans, egg plant, squash, corn and a few more. Aside from vegetables they are also selling fruit jellies, fruit preserves, fruit butters, fruit jams and fruit spreads. So we bought some of their goods and produce as we have noticed that they offer it at a fair price. All-in-all it was an idyllic day spent in the orchard, with a basket full of perfect, crisp apples and a heart full of happiness.

It was such a beautiful night, my parents and I came and we each got our own pizza. Pizza came out in maybe 15 minutes, we sat and waited and just chilled. It was a beautiful night. I am so appreciative that Windy Brow has a vegan cheese option, so I could be included! I got the Margherita pizza and subbed vegan cheese. The crust and dough were incredible - so fluffy, perfectly crispy, amazing thick crust. The vegan cheese was also great, and the sauce too. Just a perfect pizza. My dad got a regular Margherita and loved it, and my mom got the fungi pizza with mushrooms and was raving about it. My boyfriend got the pig and fig and (of course) loved it as well. We all raved to each other about how amazing everything was. For a farm to do something like this when they don't need to, shows that they love what they do! You can really feel the love in the pizza. We then got ice cream after since the ice cream stand was still open. I got the vegan dark chocolate sea salt (literally incredible, perfect consistency, I love hard ice cream so this was amazing), my boyfriend got Madagascar vanilla and said it was a perfect classic vanilla, my dad said the cherry vanilla was the best he's ever had, and my mom who doesn't love ice cream got the lemon blueberry butter cake and was raving about it. Phenomenal job!!!!! So appreciative to live near a spot like this. Blessings!

This is a pick your own vegetable farm and orchard located in Blairstown, NJ. It's a ride to get…read morethere but once your there the area is really nice......beautiful country and very quiet. The farm itself is basically just a barn with a small store and fields of pick your own produce. In season now we're peaches, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, beans, and blueberries. The peach orchard was especially nice and had plenty of perfect fruit to pick. The apples were not in season yet and I'm sure this farm is a lot busier in the fall with apples and pumpkins to pick. We did smell the apple cider donuts baking and they smelled great (we bought a bag and they were VERY good). The prices were very reasonable and I spent under $30 for a lot of fruits/vegetables. The girl at the register was helpful and pointed us in the direction we needed to go. Be prepared to get your exercise as it is spread out a bit. All in all I will definitely come back here next summer.

Tip: try to snag a wagon near the entrance so you can carry all your stuff!

They have several food trucks with lots of different choices. They have a nice farmer's market that is nicely decorated and has plenty of items for sale. They have a great selection of pies too. I found out about Ort Farms from a billboard I saw driving down 17. I wanted to find a farm that…read morehad a pumpkin patch but still had apple picking, and Ort Farms had both - so it was perfect! It was about an hour drive from me, so it wasn't too bad. We came on the last Sunday of September, so the pumpkin patch and hayrides were already open (I believe they open mid-September) but they still had some late varieties of apples. They had some veggies available for picking too - tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants. You just need to purchase a bag and you can use it for both. Admission was about $15 per adult, which you have to purchase online. Kids 3 and under are free. We did the 9:30 time slot but didn't get there until 10, which didn't seem to be an issue. It's definitely best to go early so you can avoid as much of the crowd as possible. We spent almost three hours there and it was crowded by the time we left. The good thing about going in September is that most people don't want to go until October, so you get to avoid that mess. But the bad thing is that it's still probably really hot and if you're picking fruits/veggies in hot weather, it's not the most fun. By the time we were done picking apples and veggies, we were all hot and tired by the time we got to the pumpkin patch. So I'd suggest doing all of your photo ops at the pumpkin patch first and then doing all the manual labor. They have a few food trucks in one area and the apple cider slush was nice and refreshing after picking fruit. They also have a farm store with your usual suspects - pies, apple cider donuts, pre-made salads/sandwiches, etc., but we didn't buy anything. I think I found our new go-to farm. It's nice that you can kill two birds with one stone. I saw they have U-cut Christmas trees in December so I'm interested to see if they're doing any Christmas events - I wouldn't mind making the drive back.
