DO NOT use this company's services!!! I had a horrible experience with them in preparation for a wedding, causing significant stress. Simply put once the owner -Ghazala has your payment all the promises that she makes to get your order with her are NOT relevant. I ordered tailor made kurtas, which I specifically went to the store for in house measurements and they were grossly off. In communicating with the owner prior to my order, our expectations were clearly stated, and she assured us that the quality and craftmanship would be above standards. Prices of items were agreed upon and she stood by her quality. Unfortunately, when I received the items, they were ready made and not at all custom tailored. For example, the sleeves were too long and very loose and see through. When I sent her pictures, she responded right away with an alternative kurta that she stated was supposed to be of better quality, however it was not and covered in sequins-which was not the style I had wanted. I did not wear either of the pieces she sent and when I tried to express my dissatisfaction, she took it personally as an attack rather than constructive feedback. In addition, she didn't acknowledge the mistakes made and tried to defend herself by saying "tailored clothes require slight modifications once received." This was significantly more than a slight measurement issue which she never addressed or acknowledged. Simply put they DO NOT know how to take proper measurements, they are not getting their clothes manufactured from reputable tailors and worst of all they are cutting corners on quality. Ghazala the owner, will not acknowledge or fix any problems you have, but will send you multiple texts to defend her actions. So very disappointed in customer service. They have very nice items that are probably a little over priced but really pretty. The service of some of the staff is very poor. Ghazala the owner was a nightmare to work with. My sister picked out a lengha for her wedding which she fell in love with from first sight! The blouse for the lengha was not a great fit so they took her measurements and sent it to india for a new blouse. They were certain that the blouse would be back in time for the wedding. ( admittedly it was a quick turnaround-4 weeks). Of course the Monday before the wedding we are told that the blouse is still in india and that it "should" get here by the Friday for the wedding. (FYI WEDDING IS SATURDAY AFTERNOON) Of course as most brides are she is super stressed with prep and the stress of no wedding outfit was a thick layer of extra stress.. the rush to find plan B for the gown took place, where the staff did help reluctantly to let her borrow another blouse for the gown. Luckily the original outfit did come in the nick of time ( Thursday evening, minutes before wedding festivities were starting) Ghazala had indicated earlier that if it doesn't fit they will fix it quickly. As you can imagine it didn't fit, the bride lost weight since measurements were taken. When asked about alterations, Ghazala tells us that she can't do alterations and that it would cost more to do any alterations. She says something along the lines that nobody loses that much weight! Bridal dress shops from my understanding help with alterations with the purchase of the bridal wear. Mind you we have already paid over $3600 for this dress. The experience of bridal dress shopping is part of the brides memories of this special time. This by far was not a pleasant experience. Luckily we went to the store the next day ( Friday morning) and Shaheen, the store manager was wonderful and saved the day. She did the alterations and was so sweet about it and was great to work with. At the end of the day, it all worked out but only because of Shaheen. I wish we would have gone somewhere else but hindsight is 20/20. I would recommend going anywhere else if you are looking for good customer service along with good quality and try to eliminate more added stress. Though I have lived in Chicago for the majority of my life, I haven't done any type of extensive shopping for traditional East Indian clothing here. Majority of the boutiques on Devon Ave offer a small selection of clothing, and an even smaller selection of GENUINE designer clothing, at very inflated rates. Like India, the practice of bargaining lives on in many of the shops on Devon. This always leaves me feeling uneasy because I am never sure whether or not I paid a fair price for my item, which is already tremendously marked up in this country. For this reason, I have avoided shopping on Devon unless it was a dire emergency and always opted to travel to India instead, where I could find a better selection at a much more reasonable price. Raaz has completely changed my opinion. Though the store has had a consistent presence on Devon, it's unfortunately gone unnoticed for me. My mother-in-law to be changed that this past weekend. She has been a long time client at Raaz and insisted that we shop for my engagement (among other) outfits here. Upon my arrival to the store, I saw that Ghazala had assisted in pulling several looks for me to try so that we wouldn't waste any time, which I really appreciated. Though the space appears to be small, it's cozy and still manages to offer a great selection of items. Rabani and Rakha (they have quite the Bollywood celebrity following) were the featured designers at Raaz. So, everything pulled was by them. They hail from New Delhi , where their flagship store is located. I must say that I was blown away by their designs! I don't think I have ever fallen in love with East Indian clothing the way that I did this past weekend. Everything, and I mean everything is hand done: from every last bead, to every last stitch. The workmanship and quality of the garments speaks volumes about the product that Raaz offers its clients. While I was at Raaz, I actually had the opportunity to meet the designers Rahul Rastogi and Gautam Rakha (insert a squeal of gleeeeeeeeeeeeee), who were so gracious and helpful in recommending outfits and suggesting modifications to their existing styles for the items we had chosen. Along with the designers themselves, I had Ghazala and her mother-in-law (who shares ownership of the business), all helping me to look my best on my big day. I have never encountered that kind of customer service on Devon! You can consider yourself to be lucky if you get a hello or acknowledgement in some stores. In others, you will find really pushy and aggressive sales people who are sugary sweet until you decide that you aren't willing to commit to anything in their store, which is when the claws come out. At Raaz, I was made to feel like family. The care, attention to detail and the thoroughness with which my measurements were taken have left me feeling an immense sense of gratitude. But what's even better is how fair the prices are. Yes, some may consider them to be steep, but I am an honest believer in: you get what you pay for. Here, the prices are fixed. There is no bargaining, haggling, going back and forth, or pleading. It allows the customer to appreciate that they are not being taken advantage of AND that they are getting a quality product. Raaz sells authentic designer pieces, not knock-offs, which is not guaranteed elsewhere on Devon. I probably spent a few hours here, and the time flew by. I had fun for the first time shopping for East Indian clothing instead of anxiety. We also had to place a rush order for a blouse (unfortunately, I am not a sample size) that I needed for this coming weekend. Ghazala promised timely delivery and it looks like the blouse will be ready to pick up tomorrow! So, unlike the experiences of some reviewers, for me, Raaz has managed to deliver on ALL accounts!! They can order directly from designers in India with enough advance notice. And their jewelry!!! I bought some costume jewelry just to have some extra sets to mix and match with. It's gorgeous! I recently got married and spent A LOT of time shopping on Devon for all things shaadi related...Raaz has a unique collection that is at once designer and accessible to the general buying public. I bought my Mehndi outfit here and my mother had a couple salwar kameezes custom made from India. The custom orders were handled through Ghazala who manages the boutique. She basically took a gazillion measurements of my mom after she picked a design she liked out of the catalog of an Indian designer. I won't go into the sordid details but she went totally out of her way to make sure the outfit arrived in time for the wedding as we had ordered it a bit late...I think the prices were very reasonable considering I could order top quality garmets without having to fly to India like so many brides do. The store sponsors a lot of designer trunk shows in the Chicago area. Every time I go there they always have new stuff and shipments come in every few weeks. Sometimes, Ghazala is not there and this other lady is working there. If you need something special at the store that day, it would be worth coming back at a time when Ghazala is there as the assistant can be hard to communicate with if you are not fluent in Urdu. read more

Raaz Inc is just as shady and incompetent as every other store on Devon Ave. I went here specifically to avoid being cheated and pushed around and lied to, which is what happens with most indian vendors. Raaz Inc ended up being THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD with a store on Devon... and that's saying a lot. They were almost A MONTH late in delivering 2 outfits I gave them to stitch. I told them specifically that I need the outfits right away to wear to a wedding. Of course, they weren't read in time and I had to scramble to find new outfits to wear. When I FINALLY got them back, the work was HORRIBLE. I can't even wear the outfits. It's going to cost me more money to fix how bad they ruined my outfits. This is a horrible business.
