For what can be an overwhelming process, there was guidance, patience, and no pressure--which made all the difference in helping me feel confident and at ease in my decision. One thing that really struck me was that she said picking out a wedding dress isn't always just in "the details", but rather - a feeling. I went to Reddington Bridal to watch my beautiful buddy try on some dresses for her upcoming wedding. It was bad weather outside & upon arriving at the shop, they asked us to remove our shoes and put on slippers they provided. I'm all about cleanliness so I thought that was a nice touch to keep the shop & dresses in perfect condition. We had a really sweet girl assigned to us, very eager to help my friend and have her try on various dresses. My friend's appointment was about 90 minutes and time flew! The area in which we sat was the best of all the dress shops I've been to. It was just us - not surrounded by a million other brides trying dresses on. My friend would come out and stand on a pedestal surrounded by mirrors on all sides so she could see every possible angle. It was perfect for trying on the dresses! The only downside of the whole experience was the lights kept flickering on & off, nothing major, just an off day with the lighting. I really enjoyed this dress shop as the non-trier-on-er because I felt like they gave us the full mother of the bride + bridesmaid experiencing providing us with mimosas! Yum! Plus we were not only allowed, but encouraged to take many photos of the dresses which was very positive compared to other shops that don't allow any pictures. Dress prices started at about $1000 and went up from there. They have some really gorgeous dresses of all styles. It's street parking but it's not hard to find burb street spots outside this adorable corner boutique shop. read more

I unfortunately do not remember the names the person who helped me find my dream dress. But I must say that she was of so much help and made the dress buying process more wonderful. I never felt pressured to buy something above my budget and they even helped with keeping my maid of honor and mom in check with the dress they were pulling out. In fact the veil I fell in love with the consultant made other suggestions for a cheaper version. She even made a comment on how it wouldn't be very smart to splurge on the veil as it's worn for such a short period. Again extremely thoughtful on their part. I just want to say this place is amazing. I took my girlfriend wedding dress shopping here yesterday and it was an experience I will never forget. I've been in my fair share of weddings and gone wedding dress shopping several times but this place did something that even got me teary eyed for the first time. I found this location on yelp for my best friend who is getting married in November. Now I'm a realest and yea I know the odds of having her come into town and try on a dress to find that day we're not going to be in my favor. However the people there made it possible and guess what my friend ended up saying yes to the dress!! First off during our appointment time we had the whole dress store to ourselves and we were made to feel right at home. The ladies assisting us were able to make us feel at home and guided us properly in what we were looking for. Here's the best part my friends budget was $1K and we found her dress off the rack with minimal alterations for $700. It was a lifetime moment and to top it off they were so sweet in the champagne toast they gave us after. TIP: I know most people want to go to Chicago boutiques for your designer dresses and there's nothing wrong with that. But this place has the dress you need in the budget you want. Solid suburban bridal salon! Reddington Bridal is owned by two sisters and was started about 8 years ago! What I love about this Park Ridge Boutique is the attention to detail as well as how warm and welcoming both the sisters were! I went Bridal shopping with the sister (I'm MOH) who is getting married in less than a year! We had a blast here and she tried on different dresses and fell in love with a gown with cathedral train and a gorgeous Spanish-esq lace applique. Cathy (who we worked with), was so patient and helpful with suggestions on this dress and pulled several that were similar. Reddington has many dresses that are handpicked by the sisters from the "marketplace" and they were all so pretty! We sipped on mimosas and took pictures of our favorites (which will be selected next month). Our appointment went slightly over the 1 hour limit and the sisters made this visit so much fun! They added a veil, belt, and hair jewelry to tie everything together. They even dimmed the lights to add a more dramatic effect. Thank you Reddington for such a fantastic experience (as opposed to an absolutely horrible one we had earlier that day). We can't wait to return next month! read more

What beautiful dresses and what a wonderful team of women running the shop. I was worried that the dresses would be out of our budget but in fact most of them were in our range. The owners were all kind. Since it was the first shop we visited, we decided to check out a couple of other shops. They could not compare to this shop! My daughter and her bridesmaids found their BEAUTIFUL dresses there.They also referred us to an excellent local seamstress for alterations. I made an appointment and felt very welcome. They were able to offer me several dresses in my preferred style and were incredibly helpful regarding my budget concerns. I have mixed feelings. I did find my dress here and they had a great selection, it was chosen by my mother. The staff was very nice and energetic, however, when it came time for payment my parents were out of the country, returning the following week. My mom had paid a down payment but despite not even seeing the dress (which ended up being much too big) they insisted payment that day or else... Needless to say I paid for the remaining balance over the phone which in the end made "the gift" from my parents an awkward situation. Suzanne and Karen at Reddington Bridal are amazing! I was the most difficult wedding dress shopper. I went to so many stores and tried on so many dresses but struggling to find something I was really happy with even after hitting up most of the Chicago boutiques. I ended up finding my dress at Reddington Bridal and had to come review them because it was a lifesaver. They have a great selection of dresses that are affordable (in the $1-3k range) and beautiful and a lot of them can be customized (e.g. I was able to pick a diff back style from a dress from the same designer). The best part though is the experience is awesome. It felt like shopping with two fun aunts who are honest and supportive. They were great at taking in preferences and pulling stuff they thought I'd like and made the whole experience fun. They are welcoming about taking photos and helping style the look so you can envision it which I found so helpful. I am so glad I came here and found my dress! I could not be happier with my experience at Reddington Bridal. I took the advice from a friend who recently got married and came alone for my first visit, and Karen was so sweet and made me comfortable from the moment I walked in for my appointment. She asked me what type of dress I was looking for and I wasn't exactly sure but I told her the things I knew I didn't want to have and she listened and Delivered. I tried on around 15 dresses, and after each one she would ask what I thought about it and would bring different dresses based on what I liked/didn't like about each one. I had it narrowed down to 2 dresses, and she informed me that with our wedding being about 6 months out I would need to order it soon and to sleep on it and send the pictures she took of me to my mom etc. It was a unanimous decision, she had found me the perfect dress! I went back the next morning so she could get my measurements and get my dress ordered, I have heard the horror stories of dress shops telling brides to order 2-4 sizes larger than they actually need and was so relieved when she recommended I order my actual size! I wanted to find a way to include my mom and some other special people since I came alone to try dresses on initially and Karen was so sweet and suggested I make another appointment for them to come in and help me pick out my veil. My daughter bought a wedding dress there and decided 3 weeks later she wasn't happy and wanted to cancel the order. The owner Karen said they already started making the dress. The wedding wasn't until may and this was August. She made us pay the remainder of the dress balance and said we would only get 50% of our money back even if was able to sell the dress. Let's preface this review by saying that the 8 hours prior to arriving at Reddington were awful (basically Murphy's Law in full effect). Then, I was running 20 minutes late to my appointment here (Yelp's directions are wonky). But then I met Karen, one of the owners of the shop. After apologizing profusely to her, she made me feel at ease the rest of the time I was there. I told Karen my budget (under $1500). I tried on 7 different dresses in the hour I was there. Two were definite hits with myself and my group. But the one that I went with was so stunning. I was so happy that I found my dress and for even less than I thought it would be! However, I felt that its important to give my feedback since I did deal with Susanne quite a bit.--- I called inquiring about a particular dress that I liked from a previous bridal salon that I had a horrible experience in. She said that she didn't have it but that she could reach out to the vendor and pick up the dress for me within a week. I thought that was great business and felt that she really went the extra mile. In the meantime however-I was driving by a suburban shop, which I will review later-- and saw THE DRESS! They're by appointment only so that you have that one-on-one attention, which I didn't think I cared about, but for a bridal boutique store of this size, you'd need it. I found my dress here in January out of luck. I say "luck" because the designer had this particular dress (in my size too so I could really tell how it will fit) on loan to the store for only a few days, and I happened to try it on that day and ordered it! Karen and Susanne were awesome! Also, I wanted the sweetheart neckline to be brought up by 2", so that's what they wrote on the order, and that's what I got! Fast forward 6 months, and my dress is here. Jen was very helpful in the new back room by bringing me veils to try. These ladies are the best! Who happens to find "THE DRESS" at the very FIRST store, the very FIRST dress tried on? Pure luck. Reddington Bridal is a very cute bridal salon in Uptown Park Ridge. Touhy and NW Hwy is a very busy intersection, so I would suggest parking on Prospect Ave. or Grant St., which is the street directly behind the store. This bridal salon seems to have a pretty good collection of bridesmaids dresses, mother of the bride/groom dresses, some flower girl dresses, and of course a beautiful collection of bridal gowns & accessories. I was joined by my mom, future mother-in-law, maid of honor, and one of my bridesmaids. I really did not know what to expect from my first bridal dress appointment, but if you had to describe the ideal bridal appointment, this was it. -First, the customer service here is excellent! I met with Jen, who was extremely helpful. I described what kind of dress I was looking for and she selected several options for me to try on, each dress matching my ideal description, or very close to it. In addition, the sales consultants here are really focused on helping you find "your" dress. They weren't pushy at all and even encouraged me to shop around. -Secondly, the price range is decent. Jen helped me find a dress under my budget. -Finally, what I loved about this bridal salon the most was the intimate feel. This is NO David's Bridal. You will not have 10 other brides-to-be trying on dresses and consultants running around in complete Chaos. Instead, my appointment was just for me, my bridal party, and my sales consultant. After shopping around at a few stores, I knew that the dress I tried on at Reddington was "the one". So, I made a follow-up appointment a week later to try it on again. I said yes to my dress here recently, and am so excited about my decision! I came here twice, the first visit by recommendation of a coworker after trying on many dresses in Chicago which were much more expensive (although still in my budget) and not what I had envisioned. During my first appointment I had the store to myself, I did NOT feel rushed at all, and my stylist really listened to what I had in mind and pulled many dresses for me to try. She did a great job clipping and adjusting the dress so I could see what it would be like in my size and she was really patient with myself and my mom/grandmother while we were discussing the dresses and taking pictures. When I left the store, I knew I found my dress but I was set on sleeping over it. I called back a few days later and asked if I could try it on again, and even though they were super busy that weekend they found a 30 minute slot for me to have the store to myself. I said "yes to the dress" and could not be more excited. They really care about their customers here, and they made my "dress day" feel very special. I have a few months still until I pick up my dress and get it altered, but my preliminary experience here was fantastic, and I'm so glad I gave it a shot. I had a wonderful experience at Reddington Bridal. Karen took care of me, my sister, my mom and my grandma. She gave us the experience we were all hoping for, meeting us at the door with mimosas! We had the whole place to ourselves on a Saturday afternoon and the store is a beautiful place to take pictures (yes, they let us take pictures). Karen listened to what I wanted and pulled three beautiful dresses, all of which were pretty close to what I had been considering. I ultimately had a top choice and Karen gave us a great rate on the dress and wrote down the style number for us on a card. This was so nice considering many bridal stores hide the designer, don't allow pictures and won't tell you the style number. Bonus - they had size 20 dresses (plus size) for me to try on (that's a size 16 is real life). I wound up with a different dress by a designer that they don't carry, but I even called back to Reddington to see if they would be able to buy the dress for me, since I loved their service and attitudes. This was my one and only dress shopping experience, and it was a fantastic one! I was able to get an appointment for a Sunday afternoon with only 1 week lead time (unfortunately for us it was Chi-beria day, but the store was still open!). I even arrived early due to my Metra train, and they accomodated us right away. They have a wonderful selection of dresses, with some being out front on display and others being in back. I worked with the owner, who was absolutely delightful. She did a mini-interview with me, asking my wants/desires in a dress as well as my budget. They have dresses ranging from around 1k up to 5k I believe. They have a LOT of pretty dresses at the lower price point. My requests were straps and nothing too poufy. By the time I was undressed, she had several dresses lined up for me. The setup of the store is really nice. You change in one room and head back to another to show your entourage the dress. It allows for some privacy, and there was also one dress I didn't even want to show them, so I didnt have to. They also allow photos (many places dont) and are very transparent about the prices and designers of the dresses. I tried on around 6 dresses, and the last one was the winner! They will accessorize you and allow you to walk around the salon in splendor, admiring yourself in the mirror. It was SO nice to be able to take photos, mostly because I wanted to document such a special day with my mom and my aunt. We are all beaming in the photos (through tears, my mom was sobbing). Best (for me), was that they allowed me to buy the sample because my wedding was so soon. And I was the first person to ever try it on, which meant a brand new dress for a discount! I said my budget was around 1000-1500, and with taxes, my dress was 1199. All the women working there are so nice, and they will refer you to a local seamstress and store/deliver the dress for you. Extremely easy to work with. Jen was amazing and very nice (not pushy at all). In addition, they were very consultative in helping me find the right wedding dress. I came by myself (since my relatives are from out of town) and I was treated with so much respect and given so much time. Jen recommended me to try on the final selections more than once to figure out which one was the right one for me as well as scheduled follow up appointments because they knew it would be crazy to buy the dress on the first day. They were very understanding that I needed to sit on it overnight before purchasing the Casablanca gown. The price was actually very reasonable and they didn't recommend anything out of my price range. I absolutely enjoyed working with Jen and would recommend any future brides to stop by for a small peek. Up until I received my dress, their staff was very responsive in telling me when my dress would come in. If you are stopping by, be sure to make an appointment. I actually got my dress from the Bride's Room before they merged into Reddington Bridal. I had a nice experience there, I was able to get my awesome dress as a crazy price since they were getting rid of their inventory. My dress was actually a sample size that had been ordered by mistake (so it was smaller than usual) and when I tried it on, it was a good fit!! :) I loved my dress. I also got a really reasonably priced veil there. I wasnt planning on getting a veil, but it was so reasonably priced and I got a lot of compliments on it during my wedding. The staff at Reddington Bridal was great. I had a really good experience with Karen, she got me in contact with some vendors and really took the time to help me find the dress and then took the time to talk with me when I came back for alterations. The set up of the shop is nice, albeit hilarious. They have a bench at the front that faces the street, and a rack of dresses after that, and the back with a huge wall of mirrors and a place to see your dress from all angles. It is great since if you bring your fiancee, there is no way he can see your dress. He can just sit there and read his Sports Illustrated and be happy. (which is what mine did) The alterations are a bit pricey and I think that both the seamstress and I were surprised that my dress fit when I came to pick it up (the top part was a little tricky since it involved a corset top and the top was just too big) But she did a good job and I did not feel like my dress was going to fall at all during the night. The only problem, was that she forgot to add a loop for the hook, so we had to do some last minute figuring out to make sure the dress was hooked at the top. It worked out. I was a little worried but I was able to dance the whole night and my dress felt great. read more
