I can only review based on our recent experience with my daughter looking for her wedding dress, but we have not made any purchases yet. The consultant we worked with was not as attentive or enthusiastic as others we encountered at other shops in Chicago. She kept coming and going from the room. While I get that she may have been helping others too, or giving us privacy to discuss options, but it just felt a little odd to me. The dresses my daughter liked were stunning but she is just not sure about the fit or prices and Honey Bridal dresses were the most expensive dresses we saw in a few days of dress shopping. I went to many bridal shops during my search, and Honey Bridal was by far my favorite (and I really mean by far). The whole experience was intimate, beautiful, and personal, I immediately felt at ease. The dresses are gorgeous and thoughtfully curated, and the fitting rooms are spacious, light-filled, cozy, and private from other customers. Nobody ever tried to push me into anything; everything felt relaxed, supportive, fun, and truly special. I was helped by Caprice, who was absolutely amazing, stellar at her job and such a kind person. She really listened, offered thoughtful styling and alteration advice, and even pulled a "wildcard" dress I never would have chosen myself, which ended up being the one! On top of that, Hallie and Dana (the owners) were incredibly flexible and helpful throughout the ordering process. They went out of their way to contact the designer of my dress to discuss sizing and options, and thought along with me every step of the way. When things became complicated due to an international move, they remained honest and supportive, even when it became easier for me to order abroad. I never once felt pressured, only cared for. Of course, they are running a business, but as a customer I always felt their priority was my happiness, not the sale. All in all, I couldn't recommend a shop more. It was a spectacular experience, perhaps I should get married a couple more times just to visit them again (joking, of course!). I came with two of my bridesmaids, and we had an absolute blast (so much so that one of my bridesmaids made an appointment for her dress a few weeks later). I had the pleasure of working with Hallie at Honey Bridal. Hallie was so sweet and fun to work with. It was my very first bridal appointment and I was nervous and overwhelmed - Hallie made me feel comfortable right away. She also expertly navigated the opinions of my co-shoppers while still focusing on me and my feelings. The space and the dresses all felt very high end, luxurious, and unique. So far, it's the only place I've been where each bride and any co-shoppers have their own private room. It made the experience feel so special. It's clear they really think of everything and go over-the-top to create a unique experience. They put up a sign with my and my fiance's names, asked about my music preferences, and offered us drinks. I was really unsure about what I wanted and Hallie did a great job of pulling different options for me to try. My wife and I are not difficult customers, we just want what we paid for & worse yet these folks reluctantly gave us a refund for their mistake. Our wedding is a week away and instead of trying to make things right she has time to write paragraphs filled with bumbling excuses. Give people what they pay for. ORIGINAL REVIEW Awful service. Ordered a veil for my wedding & paid an additional $50 to expedite it. I show up to pick up the veil and they have the wrong one. Of course the owner, Dana, not only argues with the specific receipt that I showed her that clearly states my order but has the audacity to be rude on top of that. We click on the link on their website that takes us to the specific veil I ordered and she claims that there must be some mistake on her website. Zero effort to correct this horrible mistake a week before my wedding. Instead I am met with unhelpful, rude, & disgraceful service. The veils are quality, but the people running this place are greedy, unhelpful, & rude. If any details with your order go wrong these people will NOT make an effort to fix it. This garbage service is worth avoiding if you are planning your wedding. Seriously AVOID at all costs. I tried on dresses here today and it was without a doubt the most bizarre and bad experience ever. I only tried on 5 dresses instead of the 10 we agreed on, a few we'd pulled I ended up not wanting to try and instead of pulling new ones the attendant left the room and wrote the info for one dress I liked on the back of a business card. Many of the dresses were very torn and damaged and they clearly aren't updating their inventory. I pre selected a few dresses and gave my dress size, and 2 couldn't even get over my butt they were so small. I would not waste your time coming here, go anywhere else instead. I had an appointment here and was so disappointed. on the intake paperwork, they ask about dresses you want to try on/ they can order for you. I put a dress on that list that i found on their instagram page and it was not there and nobody warned me it wouldn't be. it was the entire reason I was going. On top of that, i walked in and the place smelled like sewage. The salesperson seemed entirely inexperienced, she sewed my skin into the dress, did not pull anything for me, and did not have any idea about potential changes and customizations. I was so excited because this was my first place, but ultimately felt like a waste of time update in response to the business- all of these things are things that could e been resolved with communication. had i know the dress wouldn't be there, the stylist wouldn't be there, and the place would smell, i would've chosen to reschedule- I understand things happen! I bought my dress elsewhere but I do appreciate the response. I kid you not I found the perfect simple but quirky dress at Honey. And I'm OBSESSED! Hallie and Dana were THE BEST! I put on THE DRESS and fell in love instantly. When we came back in to try on more, I said I don't feel like wearing anything else. Folks, this is the holy grail. I found it. And you need to come here. I don't even have the words to describe what an incredible experience I had at Honey. But my attempt is going to be long-winded, so buckle up lol. Let's start by calling a spade a spade, this place is just cool. Sister-owned, a focus on sustainable independent designers, super intentional inventory - founders Hallie & Dana have created a gem within the bridal-wear world. But even though I was in love with Honey's vibe (and inclusivity, hello extended sample sizes!) when I booked, I didn't think I would find my dress here. I thought I wanted lots and lots of sparkle and appliqués etc etc and I could tell from Instagram that their collection was generally a little cleaner. On top of that, it ended up being my last appointment out of four, I arrived late because of traffic, and I had already gotten emotional at a gown earlier that day. So basically just a sea of potential distractors. Didn't matter one bit. Samantha, my dream stylist, brought us into the cutest bridal suite I've ever seen. Mine and my fiancé's names were up on this little board on the wall. I know that seems like such a little touch, but it made an enormous an impact. It was also perfect foreshadowing to how personalized the rest of the appointment would be. Samantha let us walk through the boutique and look at all the dresses. When I tell you the gasps were audible as we sifted through the stunning, unique fabrics and shapes... it was a full store of dresses I hadn't encountered anywhere else. Turns out we didn't even need the walkthrough, because Samantha had already pulled a bunch of dresses for me. I was FLOORED by every. single. one. And maybe even more than the dresses, I was floored by Samantha. I realized a couple minutes in that she had actually read all the gibberish in my inquiry form, most of which I didn't even remember. She then continuously referenced it throughout the appointment. Like, what?! And not just basic stuff like "I found you a veil for your church wedding." She described how she thought to pull X dress because I mentioned this wedding vibe, and was so looking forward to showing me Y dress because of this niche aesthetic detail. She referenced such specific and thoughtful stuff (and got excited about it with me!!) that I had an actual lightbulb moment. She inadvertently reminded me what I originally wanted to feel like in THE dress, way back before I got into the thick of shopping. After trying on 7 dresses, all in sizes that fit my body, any of which I would've been comfortable purchasing, she put me back in the one I'd had the strongest reaction to. She pulled all these little elements together to customize it just slightly, and when I looked in the mirror, I instantly burst into tears. I didn't think that would happen at ALL, and I know it was because Samantha made me feel really, really understood. It was the best, and I am SO over the moon to be a Honey Bride :) I'll update as the process continues (if Google lets me have more words lol), but I just couldn't wait to leave a review. I've been to six bridal shops in Chicago now, and although I didn't find THE dress at Honey, I had the best experience here. They did everything right: - They asked me about my favorite music and had it playing throughout the store when I arrived, which totally put me at ease. - They had a cute sign up with my fiance's and my name on it. - They offered my sister and me several drink options, including Aperol Spritzes! I didn't get nearly as personalized of an experience anywhere else! Hallie was also so nice and welcoming. It's a smaller store, so they don't have a huge selection of dresses, but each dress I tried on felt really special and unique. First, I think this is a lovely bridal salon. Shayna, our consultant was kind and patient. It was a pleasant experience, though not necessarily as good as some of my other appointments. There are two things that I would like others to know... things that made my experience less than five stars.... I am a size 8-10 in street wear and a 10-12 bridal. Most of the dresses that I tried on were small by an incredible amount, meaning over a foot open in the back. It made it almost impossible for me to envision the dresses because they were so incredibly tight in various places that I was uncomfortable. It even was a little unsettling for my mood because by the third dress, I was ready to leave because I couldn't even put the dress on my body. I persisted. So... maybe for size 0 to 6 brides, or those who don't mind trying on super small options, it would undoubtedly be a better experience. The second thing, Shayna didn't help me into or out of dresses. She didn't offer that as an option. In other appointments, the consultant assisted with stepping in and out of dresses or clipping things here and there. So struggling by myself into small sample sizes felt isolating. Maybe they have a policy about not assisting. Maybe they could offer it as an option? I loved that they had our name on the wall. I'm not sure where to start - Honey Bridal was by far my best gown shopping experience. Hallie does an amazing job at making you feel like you're trying on dresses in your living room. Upon our arrival, Hallie offered my mom and I cocktails, wine and La Croix (I mean, come on!). She let us shop the racks a little and asked me what I was looking for. With a specific dress in mind, we brought it and a few additional options to try on. Hallie was easy to chat with in the dressing room and never made me feel weird about being in my underwear in front of a stranger. She never pushed her opinions on me, instead she just told me very genuinely that I looked beautiful. It was really nice, especially when trying on dresses that are too big or too small. She offered accessories, but didn't push unnecessary (or uninteresting) add-ons. When I found a dress I fell in love with, we put it on a second time and she helped clamp me into it so I could get a better idea of what it would really look like. When someone came to the store's door as we wrapped up to leave, she very politely told them she'd get back to them when our appointment was done. I never felt rushed. She put my name along with my fiancés name on a cute wall sign, played a bunch of music I loved, and really allowed my mom and I to feel comfortable and hang out. It was really wonderful. In terms of setting up the appointment, Hallie and I had about 25 emails back and forth (I had to cancel and reschedule... a few times) and she always responded quickly. She even cancelled a photo shoot to make time for my appointment, which was so helpful since my mom came in from out of state for the day. I will recommend Honey Bridal to everyone! read more

I did this shop as my very first bridal appointment and it was so fun and enjoyable- not stressful or overwhelming. They have awesome accessories as well and feature local designers. Honey Bridal was the second place I stopped at and I found my dress so quickly. My first stop was BHLDN, and Honey was hands down a better experience. Their dresses are high quality and they do an AMAZING job at making the experience personal and stress-free. Like stated in previous reviews, they close the store down so it's only you and your party in the store and they have your favorite music playing when you walk in. It's awesome! I also loved that they work so closely with the designers and that some of the designers are local. I felt like all of the dresses were well-made and the store owners intentionally picked dresses from designers they trust. I'm not a huge fan of traditional wedding dresses so I thought it would take me awhile before I found a dress I liked, but at Honey there were multiple dresses that fit my more modern bride style. My entire experience with Honey was a dream! I knew I wanted a laid back, semi-bohemian gown and went to 4 or 5 different bridal shops (Lovely, Sarah Seven, Alice in Ivory, etc) and they were great, but Honey was by far the best experience I had. When I arrived, they had my favorite music playing, a gin and tonic ready, and mine and my fiance's name on the wall. Dana was super sweet and we picked a handful of dresses together for me to try. Every gown was unique and gorgeous (prices range from $2000 - $5000). As soon as I tried my & For Love dress on, I knew it was the one. This review is long overdue. These ladies went above and beyond when there was a HUGE problem with the dress I received from the designer, only two months before my wedding. Through no fault of Hallie and Dana, the proportions of my dress were completely off and the bodice needed to be totally reconstructed. I live out of town, and Honey worked with my tailor to get the problem fixed and paid for by the designer despite the time crunch. I never even saw the bill. I can't express what a relief it was knowing that they were working behind the scenes to fix this problem and communicate with the tailor and designer. In the end, I had a gorgeous dress! From start to finish, working with Honey was a pleasure. It was the only bridal shop that made me feel 100% comfortable and relaxed. I came in with my parents, aunt, and cousin, and Hallie was so sweet and accommodating. She served up delicious cocktails and patiently answered every question I had. She totally understood the style I was going for and made great suggestions. They close the store for appointments, so the entire experience just felt so personal and special. They obviously put so much love and care into their shop, and I felt lucky to be able to purchase my dress from them and be treated so well when a problem came up. Where do I even start? I am just so grateful to have found Honey Bridal. The only part of my wedding process that seemed stressful was finding the right wedding dress. I went to countless stores on Oak Street and the whole thing just felt forced. My experience at Honey Bridal was everything I wanted from a dress buying experience and more. I'd been to four bridal salons before visiting Honey, and they all seemed to be missing something (including the dress). The moment I walked into Honey, I knew that the dress buying experience was going to be completely different. Hallie greeted my party and immediately offered us a drink (the adult kind). She let us look around and pick out dresses that caught my eye, as well as suggested a couple that I would have never thought to try on that actually ended up being contenders. Like many of the other reviews mention, Hallie made me feel very comfortable in the changing room and did a great job of giving me space when showing the dress to my party. She was always close by, but never hovering, and she wasn't constantly asking how I felt in each dress--a question that I found to really dislike from consultants. She was also very cognizant of my price range and did a great job in giving me options that would lead to the most "cost-effective" dress for me. I also liked that because it's a smaller shop, you have the store all to yourself for your appointment. There's something about having the store all to yourself that makes you feel special--like...Oprah special. I never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision, and when I asked Hallie's opinion between two dresses I was debating on, I could tell her opinion was honest and came from a place that was meant to benefit me, rather than her as a business owner. When I finally made my decision a week or two later, Hallie mailed me my dress for free since I live in another state. All in all, Honey is a great shop and Hallie is amazing. I actually found this boutique on a whim in a Facebook advert, but knew I immediately had to book an appointment when I saw their unique designers and cool atmosphere in the shop. And reader, I am so glad that I did! From the moment you walk in the store, you know you're in for a treat. Both Dana and Hallie were warm, kind, and genuine, and I feel like Dana (who was my actual consultant) really "got" the vision for my wedding. It was 5-Star service all around, and I felt completely comfortable and never rushed or pushed in any way whatsoever. More like a friend showing you honest options for what you might like. She actually showed me something I never would have thought to try on, and it ended up being by far my favorite thing I saw at Honey the whole day! She just -knew- it would look killer. What I loved most were the little details. My name with my fiancé's name arranged on a sign; my favorite Motown hits playing when I entered the shop; an immediate offering of beverages ranging from rosé to whiskey. You can tell they really put so much thought into every experience, and it shows. While I'm still looking for the dress (I have several more appointments), I honestly think every Chicago bride should come to Honey. For real. If you're on the fence, just go for it! read more
