I worked with Caroline over two appointments, one of which was a trunk show, so Jenny herself was there, which was very cool. Caroline was the perfect hype woman without ever feeling pushy. She was so lovely, supportive, and game to pull new things based on feedback on the dresses I'd already tried on. She was super conscious of budget, friendly to my guests and me, and truly just brought the best vibes. Absolutely horrible quality, the worst bridesmaid dress I have ever worn . The fabric is the "luxe satin" which a ton of styles come in. I've never had a bridesmaid dress show wear to this extent considering it's a one time wear. In fact, the dress started to show snags before we even walked down the aisle (and I wouldn't even sit down on anything in my dress hours before the ceremony because it wrinkled so bad). I have a mixed feeling about this place. The bridesmaid dress is pretty, but the entire experience has so much room to improve. I arrived on time for my reservation, but still waited a bit outside the door until someone finally answered the bell. Once I got in, I wasn't warmly greeted... That part wasn't terrible, but they could have done better. The actual location carries a good collection of bridesmaid dresses. Unfortunately, the dress only comes in one size or two, so I didn't get to try the size that really fits me. The worst part was the measuring. In order to measure my waist, the staff started from my drop waist, pulled the measuring tape loosely diagonally, and ended at my lower ribcage... Just tell me how can that be the right size for the waist? I had to re-measure myself after I got home and ended up buying a size that's FOUR sizes smaller than their suggestion! Avoid, so many better choices in Chicago. had an appointment yesterday, our salesperson told us at least 3 times that we only one hour, she was not at all helpful and when I asked if my daughter could see 2 more dresses she told us we were out of time. We then went to a nearby boutique which had incredible customer service and we purchased not one dress but two! we purchased the wedding dress and the rehearsal dress. I had a great experience at Jenny Yoo and the designer was there which made it extra special. I'll say I'm quite sad though because I received my "made to order" dress and the zipper didn't work at all. I wouldn't zip up even with the help of all 3 girls that were doing my alterations before we even took it in. That being said they had to install a new zipper which cost me another $300. For the most expensive dress I'll ever buy I was really hoping all zippers should work I think they're just cheap as I've seen several reviews since my experience with the same issue. I got the Preston and the boning also collapsed during my wedding day so there was virtually no support during dinner and reception. We had a bridesmaid appointment here. They had so many options for dresses! Everything was all so beautiful the sizes do come from 2-12 on the racks but they can pin you or add a little more to the dress. Our associate was so nice, very easy going, would help us and also hype us up! The dress quality is also very nice, multiple options and all different styles. They are definitely worth the price because you can probably wear them at a different wedding or occasion as well. After the appointment they don't pressure you to buy their dresses right away instead they give us our measurements and all the dresses we like on a piece of paper and they give us what colors they come in which was super accommodating. I got a bridesmaid dress from Jenny Yoo's Chicago location and was extremely frustrated with every step of the process. First of all, the sales associate told me the only way to guarantee that the dress would be ready in time (for a wedding in 5 months) was to pay an extra $50 for rush shipping. That's ridiculous to me for a non-custom bridesmaids dress. The actual process of ordering was annoying and there were multiple errors when I went into the online system to complete my order. It was difficult to get a hold of the associate to correct them, even though she told me I needed to place my order by 6pm that night or else the prices would increase (due to tariffs). When the dress did finally arrive, the sizing was totally off - it didn't match the size chart, which I had ordered based on. I sent photos to the sales associate showing the dress's actual measurements being multiple inches off from the size chart, and she refused to provide any partial refunds or other accommodations. I ended up paying almost double the original retail price of the dress, between rush shipping costs and significant alterations. The whole experience was very frustrating, stressful, and expensive from beginning to end. I will not be shopping and Jenny Yoo again and do not recommend it to anyone. read more

An early Saturday morning appointment in November. It was so magical entering Jenny Yoo Bridal Salon. It was our first of 4 other bridal salon appointments scheduled for the dress shopping day. We had the brides mom, grandmother, 2 sisters, future mother in law (who flew in for the day for the dress shopping day). We were beyond excited when we walked into Jenny Woo and had Emma as our consultant. The bride immediately went to a dress and knew it was the one. Emma did bring other dresses for her to try, but the first dress was the perfect once in a lifetime dress. Measurements were taken, credit card was given. We knew we were on a tight schedule for ordering a wedding dress for an April 2025 wedding. Emma assured us with express shipping we would be fine and should have the dress mid February. She suggested to set up alterations from a local seamstress now so we would be set when the dress arrived in February. Emma had been a bridal consultant for 6 years. It was our first bridal dress shopping experience so we were happy to have someone with experience and assumed we could trust her to know the business. Emma said she would call on Monday with a better idea of delivery day. We left ecstatic and canceled the other three appointments we had scheduled as there was no need to look any further. Emma knew we were canceling the other appointments. How amazing to find your perfect once in a lifetime dress at first site in a beautiful bridal salon in Chicago. Monday afternoon came and Emma called and casually informed the bride there was a shortage on the fabric and we couldn't get the dress in time. She said we were entering the Chinese New Year which is a 2 week set back. The absolute soonest we could get the dress was the beginning of April. We offered to pay for even more expedited shipping. Emma was very matter of fact, actually rude. This is the way it is and there isn't anything she can do. Did she not know the Chinese New Year could affect the dress order? We obviously were devastated. The grooms mom was no longer in town and now we lost more precious time to order a dress on our already short time frame. If we would have known there was even a remote chance we wouldn't have gotten the dress on time we would have kept our other scheduled appointments. Imagine being a bride and receiving this phone call. After contact with Emma and true confirmation we would not receive the dress in time. Emma said she would share some dress options that were similar to "the dress" through Anthropologie, but the original dress was not an option. Emma never followed up with these false promises. We immediately went into find wedding dress mode. We were so upset that we had cancelled the other appointments. Why did we trust Emma's word? The bride had several dresses shipped to the home. Paying big shipping costs to return all of them. The great news is the brides Dad found the exact brand new Jenny Woo dress, size and all, through a bridal site in the UK. We received the dress with in a week. Here's the best part of this experience, the dress was over $2,000 less including shipping. This will make for a great blurb in his Father of The Bride speech and in years to come. For those brides out there shopping for their perfect once in a lifetime wedding dress.....do not trust what the consultants tell you at Jenny Woo. Make sure you have a back up plan. My bridesmaids and I had a fantastic experience at Jenny Yoo. The team at the shop (especially Sarah) made us feel comfortable and made my wedding dress buying experience so easy. For my bridesmaids: the staff was incredibly helpful as they tried to find the dresses that best fit each bridesmaid's body. It was also nice that she was helpful, yet not in our faces like many of the wedding dress boutiques I've been visiting lately. Bought my dress from Rachel here, who was amazing (did not have as good of an experience with another associate who stepped in during the next appt when Rachel was out, but that's another story). One thing I've found is I fit perfectly in the sample size they had for my dress (4), but with measurements, they recommended that I buy a size 12! Decided to go with the 4 and glad I did because it fit perfectly and did not require any size/fit alterations! If I could give 10 stars I would. What a magical experience I had at Jenny Yoo- and it all started with my consultant Rachel. I am so happy that she was paired with me as she made the appointment so much fun! I was super nervous going into it but her energy completely turned those nerves into excitement. She even opened our bottle of champagne and offered flutes. Rachel took to heart my selections, and also suggested some of her own, which while they were not "the one" gave me more ideas of how to narrow down my choice. I had been looking at Jenny Yoo gowns for over a year and knew in my heart my gown would be from here and I am so happy to say that I did find the dress! The Jenny Yoo Chicago location is absolutely gorgeous, all of the dresses are beautiful and the dress consultants are so helpful! It pains me to give this place 2 stars, but I had a pretty stressful and far from perfect experience. I said yes to the dress with the help of a wonderful dress consultant. She was the one who actually recommended the dress because I didn't have a set style or choice of fabric in mind and I LOVED it!! The back of the dress had a string of nonfunctional buttons that I wasn't sure if I wanted on the dress. The consultant mentioned that I could order the dress with the line of buttons on the side so I could have a tailor add it in if I wanted to. She said most tailors would do it for free because they aren't nonfunctional buttons (this is false, tailors will not do it for free and will oftentimes charge extra because of the sheer amount of time it takes to do this) The dress I received was different than the dress I tried on in terms of the boning and structure of the dress. I felt that something was off about the dress when I first tried it on at the store but couldn't pinpoint what it was until I compared photos of the sample dress to the dress I received afterwards (see below photos). The dress also came with string of nonfunctional buttons attached to the back, but I ended up liking the look and didn't mind. Because the initial dress consultant I worked with left, I worked with a different dress consultant. She was super sweet, easy to work with, apologetic of the error and helped sort out the issue with the dress designer. They ended up agreeing that the dress I received was different than the one I tried on because the style of the dress was recently updated. No one at Jenny Yoo knew this and they had ordered me the new style of the dress instead of the original style. (Note: you have 10 days after you receive your dress to tell them about any concerns/hesitations you have and they may or may not resolve it. Fortunately, I reached out within this 10 day window and they were extremely helpful). They shipped the original dress I received back to the designer and the designer made a new dress for me similar to the original style of the sample dress I tried on. Because remaking and shipping a dress takes time, I received the new dress about almost exactly 2 months before my wedding. When I tried the dress on, it was closer to the sample dress but still wasn't exactly the same. However, I really appreciated their help in rectifying the issue. This dress came with the string of buttons on the side (and this was my fault for not telling them that I actually did want the buttons sewn on the back of the dress). However, the dress consultant mentioned again that the string of buttons was super easy to sew on and most tailors do it for free (again, this is false). Any bride and tailor would know that receiving a dress 2 months before the wedding is really cutting it close in terms of getting a it tailored. Many of the good tailors in Chicago were already fully booked or couldn't accommodate a 2 month timeline. Fortunately, I found Bustle & Bodice (which I highly recommend) who did a wonderful job and was able to squeeze me and my 3 fitting appointments in before my wedding! However, I had to pay $850 to get my dress tailored which consisted of taking some areas in on the body, hemming the bottom since it was a bit long, and getting the string of buttons sewn onto the back. It ended up working out and I loved my dress, but it was just stressful overall! read more

The JY Chicago shop is beautiful, and their dresses are obviously fantastic, but I was really disappointed in the bridesmaid sample sizes available. I took 3 of my bridesmaids here to look at dresses and they carry all samples in sizes 2/4 and only have a few styles in the larger sizes. That sizing makes it really hard for the party to have a great experience when you're limited in the styles you can try by the sizing available in store. This is definitely a very different experience than I had with my bridesmaid at two other salons. Both had all styles in multiple sizes, and I was expecting something similar here but was disappointed. The consultant was great, helping me to coordinate a mix and match look for my girls, but I was so disappointed in the sizing. You obviously want your friends to feel special when they're trying on their dresses and I was upset this wasn't their experience. read more

So many reasons why I loved the search for the perfect bridal dress experience at Jenny Yoo: For starters, though it's located in such close proximity to Old Town and the Gold Coast, there is plenty of metered parking nearby, along with a Starbucks right around the corner ;). 2. The space is pretty, and welcoming. 3. Every bride is assigned a sales associate, who will create an online client profile and portfolio of favorites to take home with you. Our sales associate Anna, was friendly, helpful and not the least bit pushy. She made it clear from the get-go that if the bride didn't like a dress, she didn't need to spend an extra second in it. I loved that she wasn't trying to push dresses on my friend just to make a sale. 4. Every bride has a separate space for her friends/family and a private changing area. 5. They have cute voter signs to hold up: "Yes!", "10", "Maybe". I appreciated that there were no negative signs :). 6. They have dresses for every budget, without compromising on quality, design or craftmanship. Don't think you need to break the bank to find a gorgeous dress at JY. 7. My dress will be ready for pickup in early November, at which point I'll take it to a tailor for alterations. (Jenny Yoo doesn't do alterations in store.) My first wedding dress shop! I had all the usual nerves and excitement for finally being able to see what I look like in a wedding gown. And Jenny Yoo was a great place to do it! Grace, my consultant, was super friendly and sweet. She took the time to ask me questions of what I was looking for (no idea) and what my budget was (um...cheap?). Since it was my first time, I didn't really know what looked good on me but Grace did a great job of trying to help me try on different things and making me feel comfortable. Since I live in NYC, I was told there was also a Jenny Yoo shop there too. But the Chicago store is the only one that has Nicole Miller bridal gowns. Interestingly enough, my favorite gown that I tried on was a Nicole Miller one. Looks like most of the stuff there is reasonably priced - less than $2000. We even had some time at the end for Bridesmaid to try on some options too, and Grace was incredibly helpful and friendly with that too. I've been lucky enough to work with the fabulous ladies at Jenny Yoo both as a bride and as a bridesmaid and had a very pleasant and smooth experience with them in both roles. Their dresses are a big step up from J. Crew and the selection of styles and colors is unparalleled. You can really find anything there to complement bridesmaids of all shapes and sizes. One thing you have to know in advance when working with Jenny Yoo is that you have to be patient. Yes, their dresses do need to be ordered several months in advance, but they're definitely worth the wait. I might have bugged them a few times checking on the ship dates, but Kelsey, Diana and the rest of the team were always really nice and helpful every time. The bridesmaids for my wedding wore navy crinkle silk chiffon halter dresses (The Farrah) with black floral belts. They all looked gorgeous in their dresses and got so many compliments. Truth be told: I was a little jealous. I wanted one too!! I may need to borrow one from my sister... As for my experience as a bridesmaid, I wore one of the Shantung dresses with pockets (The Justine) to a wedding recently, and it was the Mary Poppins bag of bridesmaids dresses. I carried my cell phone, bobby pins, blotting papers, lip gloss, antacid, kleenex and a mirror in my pockets and you couldn't even tell they were in there! The dress was very well designed and I appreciated having the pockets so I could be there for the bride when she needed a blotting sheet or some gloss. The dress color was lovely & flattering and I can't wait to see the photos! read more

I had a great experience working with Kristen at Jenny Yoo! She was so helpful from the beginning and made the entire process so smooth. I had 9 bridesmaids, so it could have been very challenging to coordinate, but she reached out to everyone to get the ball rolling on dress style (I had 3 options they could choose from) and measurements. Kristen handled all of the details and then contacted me when all the girls had submitted their information so I could confirm and "sign off" on the order. The only downside to Jenny Yoo dresses is that 8 out of 9 bridesmaids had to get additional alterations (costing even more money), even though the bridesmaids sent in their measurements. With the high end quality of these dresses, it would be nice to have them made from the exact measurements. Overall though, it was a great experience and I HIGHLY recommend Kristen - she's wonderful!! read more
