I went with a friend to her dress shopping appointment at Lovely Bride and was so impressed. The showroom is stunning and decorated to feel very spacious and luxurious. We were greeted by our consultant, Kate, who is AMAZING! She was so friendly and welcoming and made the whole process really fun and exciting for us. She was incredibly patient and accommodating as my friend tried lots of different accessories and dresses. It really felt like playing dress up in the best way! She made sure we had water and sparkling wine before we went to look at all the gowns, which were organized by style to make searching easy. The atmosphere is amazing as well. The playlist was awesome, everything was clean, and the bathrooms were stocked with lots of complimentary necessities. So you only really get to browse in that beginning 5-10 minutes and the rest your stylist will pull for you. We picked an array of styles and silhouettes since this was very first appointment and it gave me an idea of what I was drawn too. I found one that is a high contender but haven't pulled the plug just yet. My stylist seems to do a pretty good job on grabbing new styles that may work. Lovely Bride will also send you a recap email with the dresses you liked the most. This was also something I did not know was happening now but they ask if you would like to tip your stylist as well. Pure hell & bad business all around!! It was torturous, as the mother of the bride, to watch my daughter be treated with such profound unprofessionalism & rudeness during what is supposed to be a joyful and meaningful time. Do NOT consider this place as an option. It was absolutely heartbreaking to witness the lies and incompetence from this boutique as my daughter tried to work with them to get the dress she fell in love with and paid for. When the dress finally arrived, it had been completely mismeasured. It barely zipped and didn't even cover her ankles. Despite her many emails and phone calls asking for a resolution, she was ignored for days and weeks on end. Then, months into this nightmare and still without a usable dress, they refused to refund her. Instead, they told her that if she wanted the dress in a larger size with extra length (which is what she should've received in the first place if Sammy had taken the correct measurements) then she'd have to pay full price again. At that point, it was too late to order another gown. My daughter had to scramble to find a last-minute off-the-rack option within days to ensure enough time for alterations. This review is based on costumer service. Unfortunately I do not think I would recommend lovely bride. I do love my dress, but there is lack of communication and accountability. I had one salesperson and when I went back to get my dress, I had a different person help me. They called to see if I could come in early, as I was obviously their last appointment. It was supposed to be for jewelry as well, per their email. The sales associate wasn't aware of this, brought out random pieces that would not go with the dress and rushed me out. Me and my bridesmaids were dissatisfied with that meeting. I was also told certain things would be done to my dress, and when I called the associate out on it, she said just to let the alterations know and to bill lovely bride for it. This is also not a thing. I got my veil from here. This was such a problem to retrieve. They have the worst pick up hours and the hours are inconsistent. After deciding on a time, I went and no one was there. Had to follow up a few other times to pick up the veil. I complained about this and received no apology. Finally I get a response and I told them my friend will pick it up between 1-4 on a Thursday. My friend arrives, and the woman at the desk retorts "we were just going to start some appointments, but I guess I'll get it for you." Very passive aggressive employees and once they have your money, you do not matter. read more

Unfortunately, unlike many of the reviews, I had an absolutely horrible experience with Lovely Bride Chicago. The experience started out great. I went in with a couple dresses in mind and ultimately found what I thought was the perfect dress. The sales associate, Rachel, was friendly and overall I had a good in-store experience. Her and the manager took my measurements, and while taking them my mom, my maid of honor, and I all asked MULTIPLE times if ordering 2 sizes down from the sample would affect the construction of the dress. We had concerns as I'm taller and have a long torso, so I was concerned mainly about the bodice. We were assured over and over that it would be an unnoticeable difference. I had followed up via email a few weeks after ordering the dress because I had a gut feeling that something didn't feel right with the sizing. I once again was assured that the length was still going to be okay. If I had known the construction was going to be compromised I would have had no issues going up in size but I told the yes let's keep what we ordered since the "professionals" supposedly knew what they were doing. But again, I was assured over and over the fit would not be compromised. So I chose to trust this team of professionals who have "sold this dress hundreds of times." Fast forward, the dress gets delayed a couple of times and comes in later than expected. However, I wasn't super worried as I still had some time for normal alterations. When the dress finally came in, THREE MONTHS before my wedding, I tried it on and my jaw dropped. The dress construction and bodice was completely different. The points of the dress were flimsy and poorly constructed, the bodice was nearly 2 inches shorter than the one I tried on in store (I was assured it should only be a 3/8th difference), and the dress had small strings hanging. My seamstress, who has been voted best in state many times, told me there was no way of fixing this. I took this to get multiple opinions and all agreed that the bodice was not only constructed poorly but too short for me. When I reached out to Lovely Bride and I was contacted (days later) by their customer service manger, Sammy. She seemed to want to help at first, but as time went on she began getting more condescending and trying to convince me into thinking this was how it was supposed to be and acted as if they don't make mistakes. She recommended I came back to Chicago (I'm from out of state) to see a seamstress they recommended. The solution she provided was get the back let out and lifted. When I told them that multiple seamstresses said that there was not even enough to let out to get it higher over back (which is odd because I lost weight since they had measured me in-store) they became even more frustrated with my concerns and reiterated this was not a measuring issue on their end. We corresponded on the phone and by email and they had offered no other solution than to see a seamstress they knew of. The last correspondence we have is when I requested a copy of the signed contract, to which they never responded and I never heard from them again. I was lucky enough to find a seamstress near me who thought she could fix the dress, but could not guarantee it, which was terrifying just a few months out from my wedding. She had to completely rebuild the dress from the extra fabric that I added to my train - a very expensive blessing in disguise as this was a extra cost.I spent almost $5,000 int their store to get a dress that needed to be completely rebuilt. I was stuck with a HEFTY alterations fee that I did not anticipate because of inaccurate measurements. Not only was there issues with my wedding gown, but I also bought a mini dress for another bridal event. I was told to order a size that was nearly 3 sizes to big and had to pay another large alterations fee to get that taken in as well. Once again, a measuring issue. I also felt like every dress I tried on in this store was absolutely filthy, which is extremely disgusting and highly unsanitary. I am extremely disappointed by Lovely Bride and their disregard for this entire situation. I will be sharing my honest review of this place across all platforms and local groups because I would never want another bride to experience this level of gaslighting, unprofessionalism and regret. Note: I never once heard from the store manager or owner. read more

The dress came in wrong, not at all like the sample or the dress pictured on @saintbridal instagram or website. @lovelybride refuses to take responsibility, refuses to go back to their vendor and advocate for their client and has told us we are "welcome to forfeit the dress and they will keep it at the salon." Oh, and the dress had a broken zipper that they said OUR tailor should have no problem fixing. So, if you're looking to spend thousands paid in FULL UPFRONT, no customer service, no accountability and a filthy showroom with torn and stained samples @lovelybride is the place for you. I had a wonderful experience at Lovely Bride Chicago! I had scheduled three dress appointments in one day and Lovely Bride was my second stop. Tiffany made my family and I feel welcome and took her time walking us through the racks of dresses, and she was an amazing hype woman when we started trying on gowns! I had found a dress I really liked at my first appointment of the day and told her about it, and at first I was comparing everything we tried on to that dress; midway through Tiffany said she would put me in as many dresses as I wanted, but gently suggested that maybe I had already found my dress at the other boutique. We visited 3 other shops in the city before coming to lovely bride. The service, knowledge, and professionalism here was far superior to some of the other places we went that day. They were flexible with our appointment (we arrived a bit early) and the bridal stylist, Sydney, listened to my budget, made me feel comfortable in the changing area, and made the overall experience easy and stress free. Sydney was affirming of all body types and no hurtful body comments were made, she actually hyped me up every time I tried a dress! The selection of gowns was on-trend and not overwhelming. Unlike some other places, the racks were filled where you could actually see the dress- and the stylist knew which ones were in budget. Specifically the stylist, Sydney, she goes above and beyond and she is the only person you wanna work with if you are looking for a wedding gown. I currently have a louvienne wedding gown, which is stunning and I needed to speak to a stylist that is familiar with this designer to get feedback/ideas on how the designer advises brides to do the Alterations. I live in Massachusetts and called LB near me and they would not help me. I had to call Chicago to get assistance and I am so thankful I did. Customer service is clearly the goal at this shop and they deliver 1000%. I only wish I had bought my gown from this location so I could have worked with them more. A friend recommended this bridal boutique to me and I'm SO GLAD she did! It was the first place I went to and I was nervous I wouldn't fit into anything because I have a curvier physique. Epiphany was AMAZING! She read me like a book and knew exactly what I was looking for and she knew exactly what would look good on me! She was so fun and enthusiastic/outgoing! I LOVED working with her. She only picked dresses in my price point and was very respectful of it. I cannot say enough good things about Epiphany!!! Ultimately I found a STUNNING lace Lovers Society gown that snatched my silhouette and highlighted my curves. The dress was lower than my price range and I cannot wait to put it on again. The entire process was seamless and stress free! Now in a post-COVID world, I know many people are weary about going shopping. The store itself is VERY CLEAN and they offer hand sanitizer. All the stylists are wearing masks (and we are required to wear one too). I brought 1 guest (my mom) with me but they allow up to 2 people to come with you to the appointment. Additionally, all the dresses are cleaned/steamed between try-ons. None of the dresses were dingy like some other reviewers said. I felt very safe overall. Go early in the planning process though! I did not get my dress from here, but I had a great experience! Anesha was my consultant and she was extremely helpful, patient, and hard-working. We had a video call a week prior to my appointment to go through dresses as I wasn't allowed to physically browse the racks due to COVID-19. We picked out a good chunk of my options over the video call and Anesha pulled more as she got to learn my style better during the actual appointment. I think the overall selection of dresses is a bit too boho for my taste (I pretty much only went to try 2 exclusive Jenny Yoo dresses) but if that's what you're looking for they're very nice! Some samples are a little worn but that is to be expected. One pointer: The lighting in the dressing areas could be a bit brighter! Don't sleep on Lovely Bride - check it out if you're in town! It is in the cutest area of Oldtown/Wells St. as well. Note: You must put down a $25 deposit to hold and confirm your appointment. It is non-refundable from what I can tell. Maybe you can put it towards your dress if you buy it from there. read more

It was a Sunday and pretty crowded in the shop, so I'm guessing they wanted to get things moving as quickly as possible. Pros: the consultant was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly had a lot of expertise. She was very helpful in suggesting different styles of dresses that looked good on my body type, and she was also respectful of my budget. Cons: the sample dresses were somewhat dirty and I didn't get to try on all of the dresses I had wanted to, because they were in use by other brides who had appointments at the same time as me. A long overdue review for an amazing bridal experience--where to even start?! I was really dreading the wedding dress shopping experience, and put it off as long as I possibly could. I went to several boutiques before Lovely Bride, but I just wasn't excited. My first shopping appointment at LB I came alone, as I wasn't quite sure what I wanted, and felt I needed to sort that out on my own before calling in my tribe. Olivia & Madison were phenomenal--they completely turned my apprehension into excitement, and had me walking out of the store like a giddy bride (which, I assure you, is not in my DNA!). I also got the chance to meet Heather, the owner, and she is equally amazing--so genuine with a 100% focus on the bride. I didn't buy my dress that first day, opting instead to bring along a few friends later that week to try on what I thought were my top choices. Fast forward to that next appointment and my MOH and two dear friends were greeted with open arms (and bubbles!) as I tried on my top picks. However, all week, and through my appointment, I had a nagging feeling that neither of my choices was right, but I couldn't put my finger on what was missing. After walking me through what I liked about each dress, Olivia grabs a completely different dress from the racks. It was nothing I expected, and everything I wanted all at once--I put it on, and the rest is history. Both girls took the time to get to know me, and my style, which was key--it's a real skill, and I assure you it's not the case at every boutique. I also want to address some of the other comments re: dirty dresses. Ladies--these dresses are tried on a lot. Remember, there is usually only one sample of a dress for a lot of different brides--all sizes, all shapes. I am not a size 2, but don't you know I had to squeeze into that size 2 to get an idea of what a particular dress would look like...that requires a fair amount of tugging and pulling on the fabric. The samples are also looong, which means the hemlines and trains are dragging on the floor--there isn't much you can do about that. Add to all this the inevitable makeup stains, and people who come in with messy spray tans and you're going to have a few spots and such. Constant dry cleaning would require the dresses to be off the floor, leaving fewer dresses for brides to consider. So, just something to keep in mind when you're reading some of these reviews :) All in all I highly recommend checking out this Lovely Bride. read more

Lovely Bride is an absolute MUST if you are looking for a dress that makes you feel like YOU. From gorgeous and intricate lace details, to dramatic necklines, and a wide array of options, I felt like their selection was diverse, rare, and beautiful. This is NOT a traditional, stuffy bridal store by any stretch. I arrived by myself, anxious to go dress shopping alone, as my best friend and I did not find anything the week before while shopping together with multiple appointments across Chicago. That being said, my stylist Samantha was absolutely wonderful. She was calm, encouraging, and so helpful, allowing me to try on multiple dresses, walk around in them, and even took photos that I sent to my mom and my best friend. We tried gowns on at a pace that was not overwhelming, and I ended up finding not one, but TWO dresses that I was completely in love with! (So hard to choose!) On top of that, before we even started, I spoke with Samantha about the vibe of our garden-party-themed event, and she helped me find dresses that would not only be beautiful, but appropriate for the nature of our wedding. Her vision and knowledge of the dresses at Lovely Bride was incredibly helpful in making the process easy, seamless, and fun! Side Note: I had never tried peach-flavored sparkling rose before that appointment, and it was a fantastic choice. We went to Lovely Bride on 1/15/22. Our experience was less than acceptable. My daughter is a full-bodied young woman. They advertise that they cater to a diverse population. They called her before we came and asked her questions. She filled out all the forms- they knew her size and her vibe. When we got there, they had ONE dress she could actually try on. All the others they brought her were either ridiculously too small or way out of her interest area. She is not even such an unusual size, she is just not a 10. She was really upset and discouraged by the whole experience. If they could not fit her they should have told her that they did not have anything in her style/size and not waist our time, not speaking of the emotional toll it took on her. And the mothers. My hope is that Lovely Bride takes this information to heart and starts to live up to what they advertise. read more

My family and I spent the weekend in Chicago to dress shop for my upcoming May 2019 wedding. I was extremely excited about Lovely Bride because they have such a great selection of designers and I knew I wanted to try on the Emmy Mae dresses. My maid of honor called a couple of times prior to the appointment to see if they had a particular dress in stock and wasn't able to reach anyone. This didn't really set me off as I know that all the stylists are super busy and always helping their brides but more of just a side note. When we walked into the salon, we weren't greeted with a warm welcome. I was asked my name, told to wait and then felt like we were rushed back into a dressing room which felt dingy and not clean. Our stylist, Christine, didn't make me feel special or welcomed. She didn't ask who anyone was or much about the wedding to get a feel for what I wanted. She also didn't ask if anyone in the party wanted water, coffee or champagne when everyone else in the salon had champagne. Honestly, I felt like she could care less and was extremely disinterested. I tried on about 6 dresses until she asked what my budget was which seemed odd to me. A lot of the dresses were worn, grey and pilling. I would recommend getting new samples as trying on some of those dresses don't make you feel very pretty. On another note, this was the third salon we tried dresses on at. At the first two salons, we were the only ones in there. It was a private appointment where they give you your full attention. At Lovely Bride, you are among many and again, it felt extremely rushed. I found the dress I am absolutely in love with, Emmy Mae Sage, however there is no chance that I was going to buy it from Lovely Bride. I would suggest to all brides to do your research prior to going to this bridal salon. If you know the dress you love is here - it may be worth it but with my experience, I would never give this business money. read more

I went into Lovely Bride really excited since all their dresses are so lovely online. When we walked in my stylist introduced herself to me and then walked us to the back of the room. It was pretty dirty in the room to the point where there were dust bunnies rolling around on the floor. After going into the room the stylist walked me back to the front asked me what I was looking for (already wrote it in my notes when I booked my appointment) and what my budget was. She had me go through all the dress on the floor to pick out which ones I liked and then told me she would see which ones were in my budget. I walked back into the room and waited for her to pull 6 dresses. While trying on the dresses she didn't clip them to make them look as flattering as possible. I said it was hard to tell if I liked a dress because of how long it was (not to mention it was ripped and grey on the bottom) and her reaction was to kick a box towards me and told me to stand on top. After trying on all 6 dresses I told her I wanted to try on a dress I found online even though I knew it was out of my budget. She told me she didn't want me to try the dress on because if I loved it I wouldn't be able to get it, even though I never told her and she never asked if my budget was flexible. She told me the price of the dress was $2000 more than what it actually was and the only reason I found that out was because the price tag was on the dress. Once I tried on the dress, I really liked it and the stylist realized I liked it and her whole attitude changed. she said how great it looked on me and how if I needed anything changed on the dress the designer could change it for me. She then apologized for telling me not to try on the dress before hand. Because of how horrible this interaction went I will never buy a dress from Lovely Bride and will never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Shopping for your wedding gown should be a wonderful experience. I am so grateful that Lovely Bride made finding "the dress" something my daughter, her best friends and I will never forget. From the moment we walked in the door, Heather went out of her way to make us feel special. She took the time to understand all of the details regarding my daughter's preferences. She got it so right that the first dress she tried on ended up being "the one"! That didn't stop her from bringing in many others that helped her realize that the first dress was IT. She said "Yes to the Dress"! Once we all agreed (and cried because we loved how she looked so much) she took the extra step to bring her to the front so we could photograph her in more natural light. She also brought out a very simple veil that made the final look perfection! This entire experience was so much better than other bridal stores!
