My experience with Nicholas Joseph for crafting my wedding suit was exceptional from start to finish. When I went to them, I was coming from a bad experience with another tailor and had very little time left to get my suit together for my wedding. When I reached out to them, Katie Ally rapidly contacted me, even beyond their normal business hours, to make sure I could be scheduled for the first fitting in time to have my suit ready for the wedding. Even though she was working quickly, Katie certainly didn't sacrifice on detail and quality of work. Before I arrived for my fitting, she took detailed notes of the setting of the wedding (even looking at pictures of the venue and samples of similar dresses to what my bride was preparing) and the style I had in mind. I am no expert on suits or fabrics and only had vague ideas of what I wanted in a suit. Katie patiently walked me through all the decisions to make in my suit and showed me a wide variety of fabric selections that were close to what I had in mind but varied in color, tone, and material. She had the perfect mixture of respect and support for my vision while also knowing exactly when to offer opinions and critiques. After I had gone through her fabric selections and was really debating between three options, she went ahead and quickly pulled out even more fabric swatch books and offered me additional selections that were even closer to what I had in mind, and that I eventually chose. I also brough up a few parts of my wedding program that I might like to have specific pocket placement and dimensions for, and Katie made that happen too! After my first fitting, the suit was quickly made and I came back for a second fitting. The suit already fit impeccably, but Katie carefully combed through and made notes of all of the minor adjustments that still needed to be made to make it truly a perfect fit. I knew the suit looked good on me, but when it came time for the wedding itself, I received many compliments on my suit with most of them even specifically saying how well it fit me. My father is very experienced with high-quality custom suits that he has ordered for himself, but he also expressed that he was very impressed with the quality and fit of the suit and that I had chosen well. When selecting the fabric for my suit, Katie was careful to point me towards fabrics that would be better suited for the sunny and more tropical climate of the venue - and I can't thank her enough for that. I was able to remain comfortable with the jacket on for the entire duration of the wedding even though a large part of it was spent in the sun. My experience with Nicholas Joseph was so much more than simply a monetary exchange for a custom suit. Nicholas Joseph, and specifically Katie, have earned my gratitude, trust, and respect for being able to take one of the worst possible timelines for making a suit and turning it into the best possible outcome regardless of circumstances. From now on, I can only see myself going to them for my custom clothing needs, especially as they have taken all my measurements and are willing to do business online. One of the things that really caught my eye when I came in for my measurements is their stylish selection of overcoats, and I am definitely interested in inquiring about those in the future. In conclusion, my only regret was not going to Nicholas Joseph sooner. Women be-warned!!! LGBTQ+ be warned!!! If I could give zero stars I would. After scheduling an appt online I was called to confirm and asked what I was looking for. The person I spoke with was shocked to her that I was a woman and I guess because it's 1926 and the Deep South. Women don't wear men's custom clothing. I was not only met with confirming I was a woman but also the pricing points associated. Flash forward the day before my appt I get an email from Kate the Senior Designers stating that that they only style men and have been doing so since 1995 blah blah blah...and I should find another company that "specializes" women's clothing. Having never met me or seen my body this was the discrimination I was meg with. Not only as a woman but also as a member of the LGBTQ+ community who ironically only wears men's custom suits and clothing. I mean have you met our Mayor??? Seems like they'd be running to help dress her. But ignorance is what it is and so is a shit company and their views. read more
