Great food and great people! We really enjoyed our time at Raas for our date night which isn't easy to do with a two month old in tow. They were very accommodating even without a reservation. I would make one next time, they were almost full on a Thursday night....and now I know why. The food is amazing! We had the eggplant (small plate) and the homemade garlic naan to start. Both so delicious and you can watch them make the naan through a large window overlooking the kitchen. For mains we shared the cauliflower and the Paneer tikka masala both were great. The cauliflower was cooked perfectly and the sauce was slightly sweet, my husband cleaned the plate with the left over naan. The Paneer tikka masala has some heat but not overbearing. We even had enough to take home for lunch tomorrow. We also got to meet the Chef's Mother who we adored! We will definitely be heading back soon!! read more

Showed up at 8:50 and was turned away for service even though they close at 9:30 pm. Pitiful, with only 2-3 tables full in the restaurant they could have easily sat us and got food out quickly.. I guess they didn't need the money. I'll be taking my business to indigo from now on. read more

Me and my friends are on vacation here in Lewes, and were looking for a new experience. To say this was a good choice is an understatement. This was my first time having Indian food, and it was wonderful. But what really made my time at Raas was the service. The waiter went out of his way to make sure everything was right with us, and was in addition very polite and personable. The restaurant is also very nicely decorated and has a good atmosphere. It goes without saying that I'll be back here the next time I come to Lewes, and I highly recommend anyone who visits or comes through Lewes to visit as well. read more

Chef GG never disappoints! The food at Raas is so delicious. My favorite in the Lewes/Rehoboth area. The samosas are to die for - that green sauce will make you slap anybody! The yellow curry is the best, I could have that on ANYTHING. You will not be disappointed at Raas. If you don't like spicy, just have them adjust the heat. read more

Good tasting food but the price is too high for the portion size. Three of us ate for $50 before tip and no drinks at lunch and we had no leftovers. Also our choices were all vegetable and cheese dishes which makes the price even more expensive. read more

Absolutely loved this place. Our waitress was Noni she was both knowledgeable and hilarious. Beautiful bright decor, Incredible menu, and something for everyone! 10/10 would recommend and will go back again and again! read more

First time in my 74 years that I experienced Indian food and I can tell you that I "Love it" We ate at the bar and ordered small plates and was lucky enough to have a friend who knew what to ordered. The presentation was beautiful and the drinks were outstanding. This new restaurant is the classiest restaurant in Lewes De. but more important the food is memorable. read more

Great food, service & atmosphere - chef came out to greet patrons as well. Looking forward to a return visit to try more wonderful Indian inspired food! read more

Quite easily the best ribs, scallops, and mango lassi I've ever had. The owner and the wait staff were incredible. The atmosphere was homey. I'll honestly never forget dining here, I wish I could teleport this restaurant closer to home. I make it a point to be a hedonist about food and this was an all time stand out experience. I couldn't recommend Raas enough. read more

We had an excellent meal here, sitting outside. The Channa Masala was very good, and the Sag Paneer Kofta was exceptional. The thin homemade naan were delicious too. The portions were small enough that we could actually finish everything. read more

So excited for an Indian restaurant in Lewes! Chef GG is so kind and can be frequently seen in the dining room greeting customers. The food is so flavorful and thoughtful. Cocktails are pricey but really good. Can't wait for them to add papadums to the menu . read more

Dinner at Raas was amazing! The staff and the food were outstanding. The staff (Noni and Chef) went above and beyond in the service they provided. The Chef came out to our table and listened to our likes and dislikes and modified the meal in a way that fit our special needs. read more

The community raves about Raas however I will not. We visited Raas for a birthday dinner. and upon being seated we asked if we could have a different table. The host said he'd look into it however our waiter (head waiter David) said, "absolutely not, we are stacked with reservations." This was our first visit so when we were trying to decide what cocktails to have David became frustrated with our need for a few more minutes. When he returned to take our drink order, we placed an order for small plates as well. He asked about entrée order and we said we wanted to have our appetizer first and then order dinner. David said, "chef prefers all food orders placed at same time so he can pace himself" . Whilst we were waiting for our drinks we heard the waiter , Brian, tending to the table behind us say to the table, "would you like to order small plates or enjoy your cocktails for placing an order?" Additionally, we heard the host tell another couple as he was seating them, "there a few tables to choose from". When David delivered our drinks we inquired about both these things. He put the drinks down in front of us and yelled, "I cannot do this anymore, I will not be treated this way!". He slammed menus he had in his hands on the floor in front of us, walked away and barked to Brian, "you take that table over." Needless to say, I flagged Brian, asked him to cancel our food order and for the check. David delivered the check, i handed him my credit card and he proceeded to tell me that we have been nothing but argumentative since being seated and he has never been treated this way. I shared I will call to speak with the general manager and that I knew quite a few people who frequent Raas and that they will be disappointed to ear of our experience. He said tell your story, I will let them know you were argumentative and rude and he walked away. The birthday girl left upset and crying. When I called the next day to speak with GG the Chef, he let me know he was awre of the story as David had spoken to him. He shared with me his culinary history, and let me know he can't change the past and said "sorry". He also said come back, call me, and I will host you for a great dinner. I am firm in saying I will never step foot in to a place that appears to be LGBQT unfriendly and treats women with total disregard. read more

This is in our opinion, the best restaurant in Lewes. We live here and must eat there or get carry out from RAAS at least twice a month. Chef GG is a wonderful host & talented chef in this most beautiful setting. He makes sure he satisfies our demands as we have many food limitations/allergies & preferences. The food is top notch and always a delicious blend of unique flavors & freshness. We have always been very happy with our many experiences at RAAS. read more

We've eaten at Raas several times now. We have eaten Indian food all over the world, including India and UK, and this is world class. The interior is very beautifully designed, but the food is the standout feature of this restaurant. The chef is formerly with Taj hotel restaurants and it shows in the quality of food. Several Beebe doctors are also the owners, so this is locally owned too, which makes it even better. read more

Wow. I am shocked at the positive reviews here. First thing, the waitress was wonderful. The ambiance is hideous with the dated decor, ugly wallpaper, and terrible lighting. We were shoved into a tiny booth... we are four small people but it was uncomfortable. The prices are extraordinarily high for what you get. They are advertising a rack of lamb and gave three tiny lollipop lamb chops for $45. They can charge what they want for their food but should be transparent about what they're serving. One piece of bread was $6. I got a chickpea dish, which probably cost them $1.50 to make was $24 and was mediocre compared to my local takeout Indian restaurant. We spoke to the manager/chef about our disappointment with the lamb and he was extremely condescending and would not acknowledge that he isn't truly serving a rack of lamb. He condescendingly suggested he will change the menu to reflect what they're serving, which is a lie. We paid and tipped well, so at least listen to our feedback. Any chef knows what a rack of lamb is. Good for him though, he must be making bank serving his mediocre food for these prices. I suggest ordering from your local small business takeout for Indian cuisine. This place has no ambiance, a condescending owner, and you will be paying fine dining prices for mediocre food you can get for 1/4 of the price. read more

I was there with family and friends. There was 7 of us. The chef was very good about explaining the menu and our waitress was excellent. We had cauliflower Manchuria, smoked eggplant chokes to start with. They were excellent. I had the Salomon teriyaki and it was excellent. Others had the lamb shank and chicken tikka masala. Everyone loved there means and we look forward to coming back to try other dishes. read more

Food is excellent, similar to Indian food in London. Comfortable seating. Good renovation of Victorian house. However they do not answer phone or respond to voice mail requests for reservations, a bad negative for a place that is essentially reservations only. New place working out the kinks, I hope. read more

Very nice setting, open and pleasant. I'm someone who has Indian as my number one restaurant choice and was happy to finally have a restaurant like Raas come to Lewes. The choices are vast and looks great when served. The moment of enjoyment is a fail, the flavors come up short. They potentially had it all going for them but in the kitchen it all falls apart read more

Wow, what a great experience and an exciting addition to the restaurant scene in Lewes. We eat Indian often in DC and each of the dishes we ordered offered a surprise from what we were expecting. The Cauliflower Manchurian was our favorite starter. The Chicken Tikka Masala and Saag Paneer are two standards that were anything but. The service was excellent and we appreciated the opportunity to meet Chef GG. Finally, the desserts were all very enticing and we loved the Thai lime chocolate mousse. Great place for a special meal with friends or family--you won't be disappointed. read more

As good as it gets!! Excellent menu. Friendly and warm staff, and wonderful service, terrific ambiance, great cocktails and wine list. Most of all the food is fabulous-one of the best Indian Restaurants ever....Love Chef GG! Thank you for opening in Lewes! read more

amazing food and service!!! friendly and fun staff!

I'm hoping to change this rating to a 4 offer 5 when I actually get to eat here. Unfortunately I have a nut allergy and when I called in advance of our reservation to see what menu items I might choose I was told by the manager that this is a "non nut-free restaurant". He said the chef could not tell me which of his spice blends might have nuts so therefore no menu item could be guaranteed nut free. I hope that in the future they are able to identify their ingredients so that those of us with allergies or sensitivities might enjoy a few items on the menu. read more

Love the great food and friendly, stylish atmosphere at Raas. It is upscale, but not pretentious. They welcome you the same if you are in a tee shirt or a sports coat. Chef makes excellent dishes that appeal to all tastes. The menu is mostly Indian, but there are Thai and Japanese favorites as well. We had chicken tikka masala and pork vindaloo, plus garlic naan bread and rice of course. Great cocktail/wine selection and Dogfish Head beer as well. Recommend Raas for family/friend meetups or special occasions. We'll be back many times in the future! read more

Excellent food, lovely setting (the gorgeous porch), and even better service. Especially appreciate that they are kid/family friendly and take reservations. Rob, our server, was considerate and attentive. Will definitely be back, likely as regulars. read more

Enjoyed dinner here last night with friends. The samosa special appetizer was wonderful, flavorful and fresh. The entrees were above average and delish. Recommend fully the Lamb Rogan Josh, The Cauliflower curry and Biriyani. Spices were robust without being overpowering. Service was excellent. Bread and desserts were disappointing. Bread was too crisp to the point of burnt and both the sweet carrot pudding and Ras Malai lacked flavor. The Gulab Jamun was our consensus pick for dessert. We will be coming back and hopeful that they improve the bread and desserts. read more

We visited Raas this past Tuesday evening for my birthday dinner and loved the experience! The location in an historic Lewes building is ideal, we were greeting cordially and wait staff, very attentive. First of all, this is by far, the best Indian food that we have had in this region and rivals anything that we have had in metropolitan east coast. My parents have had little experience with Indian food and loved it. The water chestnut appetizer was expertly prepared and delicious. We all ordered Masala dishes, Chicken Tikka Masal and for 2 Vegans: we had the Okra and the Chick pea dishes. All were artisanal dishes, unconventional and so delicious. Love, love this restaurant and will be returning frequently! read more

I have NEVER been turned away from any restaurant. Normally we may be asked to wait 10-30 minutes and it's up to the patron if they want to wait or go somewhere else to eat depending on the wait time. This restaurant told us off the bat that they are all booked up and nothing can be done. I cant even believe we were not even offered a wait time. The manager even did not even bother apologizing. I will not be returning to this place. read more

Overall excellent experience. The restaurant has a nice cozy feel. I ordered chicken pad thai as an entree. Food is excellent. Service very friendly, and should get better as the staff gets up to speed on the menu selections. Eleven beers on tap--a large selection for a small place. Not sure why 5 of the 11 were Dogfish, but with 6 non Dogfish I can't complain. Looking forward to a return visit. read more

We had a party of four. Our waiter, David, was great. Restaurant is very nice. We thought we'd give this restaurant a try, having been to the other Indian restaurant in Rehoboth. We started out with a Mango Lassi, with was good (had much better at the other local Indian restaurant). It had ice in it, which wasn't necessary and we felt it was to help fill up the glass. Next small plates-Tandoori Prawns (which were supposed to be six, but got five). When we inquired, it was something about the "size" and we got an apology. They were delicious and came with some type of small garnish "salad", which was outstanding. One got the Bacon wrapped Plantains which they enjoyed, and the other Lamb seekh kebob which they enjoyed. For dinner: two of us got the Deconstructed Rosemary-Infused Pork Vindaloo, including myself. Lovely presentation, however the pork was very dry and tough. It was extremely difficult to cut with our dinner knifes, and one time mine almost flew off the plate. Not very flavorful. The other person just gave up trying to chew it and took almost half home to their dog. Two small potatoes, one small carrot and three small pieces of broccoli. Another got the Lamb GG's Dum Biryani, which they did enjoy, however it did not have much lamb in it at all. The other got the Sirloin Steak. Small piece of thin steak, very tough. Could barely cut with the dinner knife, and stated it was alright but not exceptional. Our pork and beef should have been exceptional, cut like butter, moist, flavorful, based on the prices that were charged. The meals were elegantly presented however. We received the dessert menu, and it looked quite nice, but we just could not bear to add to the astronomical amount of money we had already wracked up on an unenjoyable meal. Yes, we knew the prices going on, and expected the food to measure up. It did not. We will not be back. We will continue getting our Indian food fix at the restaurant in Rehoboth which we feel has better food. read more

Valentines dinner out is not the easiest time to try a new restaurant. That being said, when I called to make the reservation I asked what the options would be and the man said there was a special VDay menu and I specifically asked if you could order off the regular menu and he said yes. When we were seated we were told that only the prix fix-menu was being served. We are vegan and I always find it so ridiculous and unfair when the price is the same for vegetable meals as it is for much pricier ingredients as are in the seafood and meat dishes. The chef came to the table and was very charming and helpful and made sure we had options. However the appetizers were very mediocre and the fried okra was like a bar menu dish. The eggplant was wonderful but the cauliflower and chick peas were just average. All for $75 a person!!! We asked for naan bread and were told it was an up charge!!! Dessert for us was fried bananas and fried apples. No chocolate to be found. Really disappointing and very over priced. Also the lighting is too bright and there was no music and electric candles on the tables. Service was good and the wait staff were nice but not enough to make me want to come back again. read more
