    Shrimp Tempura

Sitting outdoors w the weather so perfect. We have 3 children, no children menu , so prepare to pay for an adult plate . Nothing Al La cart? . So we make up the kids plates, Very sm portions of meats from chicken. /beef. I got spicy chicken fried rice. N the chicken was minced u couldn't see it or much taste it., shrimp tempura is always good. My daughter had chicken ramen soup. Not much flavor of chicken, like it's been precut n refrozen, broth was tasty. Beef looked greyish on my sons plate n said well i guess it's no longer my favorite place to go . Our server was very sweet , her name is Alianna . Overall we enjoyed ourselves as a family outing.

This was disappointing. I was in the mood for cold, fresh sushi on a hot summer day and ended up having such a poor experience. We were seated quick but it took a while to even get water. We then waited a good 15 minutes or so to get our orders taken. Their AC was broken (or non-existent?) and their fans only blew on a few tables so we were both hot and parched. Also I get that it's a "modern" Japanese restaurant but I found the artwork of Asian women along the walls offensive. My family ordered different bento boxes, which they said were just okay. The fish was definitely fishy though. My chirashi poke bowl was 80% cucumbers/edamame and 20% fish, and both the rice and chirashi were room temperature, so was not a pleasant experience.

Our annual trip to La Encantada shopping mall also includes a visit to RA. Our service was on point and the place was somewhat busy for lunch. Some spring breaks have started in the city. We dined indoors and it was cozy, with great background music on. Some of their dishes need to be replaced as they show worn spots and stains. Overall our visit was great. Our food was terrific, but my salmon bowl was just okay. The salmon was overcooked and I wish it had more veggies. Compared to my daughter's poke bowl which looked amazing and she said it was very good. Our highlight was the sushi. So delicious! We loved it!

Yummy! Today we ordered The Adults Only roll, Lobster shrimp roll and the Viva Las Vegas roll. We also shared a bottle of apple flavored sake. The presentation was flawless and the taste of each roll was unique and expressive. Our server, Abed, was among the best in the service industry! Great job RA Sushi!

Ambience is great. And the staff is fabulous even when they're really busy they watch out for each other and make sure your service is taken care of. The UVA volleyball team came in slightly after us with 25 people and then the lunch crowd hit. Our food came out promptly still and was hot and delicious. We had the two bento boxes which were fantastic.! There was a slight lagging being able to pay, but we completely understood. The manager is fabulous and make sure everyone is taken care of.

    *SASHIMI ASSORTMENT

My husband and I dined here about two weeks ago. It was a pleasant surprise to find that they had a special menu for guests with food sensitivities. We started with a couple of their Old Fashioned's made with Japanese whiskey and Japanese yuzu bitters. It was a nice twist on a classic cocktail. We had MISO SOUP, UCHI NO SALAD (mine gluten free and his from the regular menu) and for our entrees, I had the NIGIRI ASSORTMENT and he had the SASHIMI ASSORTMENT. Everything was enjoyable, albeit a bit pricey for what felt like a fairly casual place. The service was excellent. It rained that evening, so perhaps that's why there was a small, but steady crowd. Overall, we had a good experience and agreed it was a great choice. The four stars are for the outstanding service.

Came here to use my birthday coupon and honestly cant wait to go back! The happy hour menu is not to be missed! I ordered the salmon roll and a cucumber Collins drink from the happy hour menu and placed an order for the nigiri assortment from the lunch menu. Everything was so delicious. I love seafood but im always weary as well and can say it was very fresh and the price point really makes you want to come back. My waiter was Jamal and he was great he made sure everything was going well and it was! I had a great view of the mountains and some yummy sushi to enjoy it with.

Came here for lunch on a Sunday and sat at the bar. The open bar window is such a vibe, I enjoyed an incredible cocktail, delicious apps, and the best waygu I've had at a sushi place. The adults only roll is a fun twist on sushi. Katelyn is the BEST bartender with excellent and attentive service. This place seriously rocks.

The salad was $10 and it was two bites of nothing.

I would give negative star if I could. Yuck!!! Just hoping we don't get food poisoning! The meal was overpriced, looked horrible and tasted worse. We got it to go and was so excited to have sushi until we opened the bag and saw this. The rolls had no flavor and looked like they came from Safeway. Our bill was $130 for this. If you want good sushi do not go here!

Chicken Katsu bento box lunch special
    Justin M.

RA Sushi is a hip Japanese sushi restaurant. It has modern casual vibes while maintaining a higher end dining experience. I had a Chicken Katsu bento box that was really good. The service was decent overall. I was pleasantly surprised on the affordably of the lunch menu. I would highly recommend lunch for those more on a budget.

I ordered my sirloin medium and it was definitely on the medium rare to rare side. It was as if they just didn't let it rest long enough. That was my impression because I watched the expo churn out the steaks in a way that seemed rushed. The french fries looked wonderful going out but unfortunately we got the over cooked batch. The dessert was the best! If the management is reading this please don't criticize us for not bringing it to the server's attention. The first thing I need to own is that it's a shame I hadn't visited here before. We arrived at 5:30p and both the bar and patio areas were packed - standing room only, and no wonder. They have one of the better happy hours (daily! 3:00 - 6:30p) - able to accommodate both the slacker and the over-timer Lol. Basic drinks are all discounted such as house wines, well drinks, and beers. Their bottled wines and craft cocktails are all exempt though. Many of their appetizers are also discounted and some quite substantially. We grabbed a glass of the house cabernet ($6, normally $8) and the grilled shrimp wrapped in jalapeno bacon ($13, normally $20). NOTE: happy hour pricing is Only available if you order/consume at the bar or on the patio and that's clear in advance, and understandable. The dining areas were only half full at this early point (but filled up by 6:30) and the host kindly encouraged us to enjoy our starters at the bar as she would hold our table. We were then sat near the "back" of this long venue and frankly, aside from the lone windowed table at the very front, this would be my preferred seating - cozy, intimate, with only five other tables around us. For dinner drinks she got an Italian Nebbiolo Bricco Magno Red Blend ($13/glass, reliably terrific/mellow) and I got the Chupacabra ($15) Mezcal/prickly pear cocktail, strong and excellent as well. We got an additional appetizer: the roasted bone marrow ($19). I had never had marrow before but she raved about how good this can be if done properly (bonus, it is super healthy). Folks, a picture/worth a 1000... suffice to say this was simply outstanding! We both had long work weeks and were craving meat - just a damn good steak. Our waiter, without blinking recommended the 8oz bison filet mignon ($65) as his absolute menu fav, and then the day's special: 14oz ribeye ($50). We ordered each. All dinners come with two sides and we each got the day's special: roasted half artichoke and she got the loaded baked potato while I got the mashed potatoes. Food arrived about 15 minutes later at good temperature (warm/rested with a strong char) with each being accurately grilled (medium and medium-rare). Taste was outstanding. Neither one of us had bison filet before and marveled how it (subtly) added a "wild" edge to an always outstanding, lean-but-tender, cut of beef. The loaded baked was terrific, however, the mashed was the only disappointment... a plainer mash one could not make themselves - pure white and borderline dry, no milk, butter, egg, gravy(?), nothing to make it creamy or add any flavor dimension - a surprise frankly. The only other "critique" is that the dessert menu could add some kind of dark/chocolate concoction. All in all, though, we loved our experience and have decided to add this to our periodic special dinners rotation! Staff was outstanding - just the proper balance of attentive and quiet - and waters never went below half empty. Parking is free and plentiful, especially behind the restaurant (and yes, if you continue on around the back there is another long entrance/exit driveway that comes out the other side of Jimmy John's and Noodleholics.

If you want to bring some sweetness to the chili give a side of cornbread. Not corn kernels. Come here for drinks and to watch the games. Eat the food to soak up the alcohol.

Visiting from San Diego and was looking for something other than fast food. Typically, I don't use…read moreGoogle for food options but that's where I found The Saddle. It's right next to the University of Arizona on university and I loved it so much, I came back three nights in a row. Call me a creature of habit, but when you're out of town and you find something excellent, it's worth going back. It definitely has more of a bar vibe than it does a restaurant, but the food I ordered was incredible. If you're hungry, don't look at my pictures. Lol. With that area of town being so crowded, I thought parking was going to be an issue, but I found a spot right near the front of the restaurant every time. I walked right in, ordered at the bar, and was in and out in less than 12 minutes every time. On top of it all, I had the same person helping me from behind the bar each time and she was incredible. Friendly, accommodating, and if I was the manager, she'd be getting a raise. Ask for Alyssa and you won't be disappointed. Needless to say, anytime I am in Tucson, Arizona, I no longer have to search for a restaurant that I like. I'll definitely be back. PS - When they saw me come in for the third night in a row, the chef blessed me with a free slice of raspberry pie. That's quality customer service right there. Love this place.
