Our family is flabbergasted by the excellent service. Bob made good on a defective part without any questions. He provided one day service on an emergency repair for a first time customer. Absolutely the best mechanic and extremely honest! I had my car into Lexus when the battery died (Under warranty). They pro rated it and told me the reason it died was the alternator was bad and needed to be replaced. if I didn't replace the alternator ($900) and the battery died again, it would not be covered as a warrantied item. I took the car to Bob who kept it overnight and checked it. Bottom line, the alternator was fine. read more

Was working out of town & had serious car issues - had no choice but to find a mechanic. Based on their reviews I gave them a chance & I am glad I did. Even tho they are clearly a very busy shop - was there for 5 hours - I witnessed how busy they really are - Mr Bob was willing to do what he could do to get my car fixed & back on the road in a timely manner. Looking for a local mechanic .. highly recommend - however keep in mind he is clearly busy :) ... had to come back to add Mr Bob has since called to check on the car & make sure everything was good. Everything said here is true. I moved to the Red Bank area and have been in need of a local garage for some time. RW came highly recommended to me from others in the area. I took their advice and brought my truck over as the front brakes were making a grinding noise. I had to leave the next day on a trip. He took my truck right in, did the repairs within a few hours and fixed exactly what was needed. He didn't try and add on or sell me anything I didn't want or need, as is so common in other places I've gone. He did advise me that my vehicle might be in need of other repairs in the future and to keep an eye on the situation, which I really appreciated. He treated me with respect and courtesy and did a great job on my truck. Rates are very reasonable. Most important, my truck's brakes are working like new. It's so important to have a good garage to go to when your entire livelihood depends on your vehicle. I will be taking all my vehicles here and will recommend RW and Bob. read more

Bob is the best kind of mechanic you can find. Like others have said, he won't try to upsell you on parts or services your car doesn't need. He's very knowledgeable and takes the time to explain what's wrong and the best way to fix it. A great example of this is that recently I needed a new muffler for my Toyota and Bob advised me to go online and buy it myself because the ones he gets from his local supplier aren't very durable. RW came recommended from one of my coworkers so I took my car in for a tire rotation and steering alignment. At the time of drop off I told the technician that I would just like a tire rotation and steering alignment and for him to please call me prior to performing any additional work. Later that day I received a phone call that my car was ready, upon pickup I was happy to discover that they did do a great job with the tire rotation and steering alignment however, they installed semi-metallic rear brake pads without consulting me (I was planning on installing better quality ceramic brake pads that upcoming weekend myself). After calmly expressing my concern to the mechanic he grudgingly offered for me to just pay for the parts and not the labor which he stated was "a great deal." The problem with this is that the ceramic pads that I ordered online and were going to install myself were cheaper than what he charged me for the inferior grade ones he installed on my vehicle without prior notification. All in all he performed good work but you absolutely should ensure that the technicians fully understand what you communicate to them, or else you may end up paying for additional work that you did not want. read more

We have been going to Bob Wichmann for all our car servicing needs and I completely agree that Bob really knows cars plus he is as honest as they come. I switched to Bob about 15 years ago after always having my car serviced at the dealership for many years. One day, back then, my car broke down and I had it towed to the dealership that always serviced the car. The dealer wanted almost $1,500 to do the needed repairs.
