I made the appointment to fix a botched haircut I recently had, and was a bit reticent to go get my haircut even more, since The botched haircut had recently cut off over 4 inches of my hair. I went to someone three times and each time left unhappy, the third I was left with a complete mess. A color correction that 5 different people quoted me 400 or more. The stylist had blocked me and I was completely shattered. I decided to reach out to the owner at this point. When I tell you she apologized and completely fixed my hair, she's a god send! She fixed a mess that was not hers and did a hell of a job! She gave me exactly what my reference photo was to begin with. I booked a last minute appointment through yelp when my luggage didn't arrive on time with all my hair products. Even though I messaged them at 8 pm, I was able to get an 8 am appointment with Christine the next day. I have extensions so I was a bit worried as some people cannot handle them or take forever to blowdry them. Christine had me shampooed, blowdried, and out the door in 45 minutes. She gave me exactly what I asked for -- volume and straight. She did such a great job I came and saw her again the next day even though my bag had arrived! Great experience! I went for a lash lift and tint as well as a haircut. My lashes took about an hour and then Valerie/Red spent an hour and a half on a wash, cut, and dry. Red was really nice and was able to address all the questions I had and make suggestions for my different concerns. I walked out feeling prettier than I've felt in over a year. Only reason this is a 4 star instead of a 5 star is because I was a little disappointed with my lashes. I understand that lashes can be a bit finicky to work with, but I was still disappointed to get frizzy, unevenly curled, with some lashes not curled. They still look alright when I put mascara on them, but they're starting to go flat in less than a week when I've only gotten them wet once 48hrs after the procedure. read more

I've been going to Melissa at R salon for almost 7 years and wouldn't go anywhere else. I started seeing her while growing out my hair for my wedding so I saw her monthly for split end treatments and deep conditioning. She also did my hair for my wedding and I am still so in love with it! Since then, she's done everything imaginable to my hair and it's always such a pleasant and uplifting visit. She takes her time to get to know her clients and their hair, recommends things that she thinks would work well, but is also honest when my ideas are a little out of scope of what is possible with my hair. I've never left disappointed and since then have sent at least 15 of my close friends and family to her! The salon recently went through a remodel and it's even better than before. They carry great products and everyone I've encountered there is always friendly and positive. I wish I could give more than 5 stars! I requested an appointment through Yelp and Donna messaged me immediately. She asked what it was that I needed and requested pictures of what I was hoping to achieve along with pictures of my current hair color. I told her that I needed to get in ASAP. Not only didn't she get an appointment just 4 days despite their extremely busy schedule, but she made sure to book me with her best girl to ensure that my hair turned out great. I cannot say how grateful I am for Kendra. My hair was an absolute mess after a botched dye job. It was initially a horrible yellow, brassy color, but she transformed it into a color that was truly amazing. In addition to the perfect color, Kendra revitalized my hair and conditioned it to a state that I haven't had in forever. She recommended products that would continue to repair my hair and even gave me her cell phone if I had any questions. I took up her offer and texted regarding certain questions that I had, and Kendra got back to me immediately. After my appointment, Donna personally texted me to follow up and see how things went. I am beyond impressed and thankful. I normally do not go to salons because the prices can be ridiculous. When I got my bill, I was stunned- I paid 3 times as much for the place that botched my hair and this salon was so unbelievably reasonable and affordable, and more importantly, the services were beyond my expectation. I just went to R Hair Salon today and had Amanda as my stylist. I am very happy with experience and her work. I came in with yellow brassy bleached hair and left with a nice natural beachy blonde/brown look that better fits my skin tone and my sensibilities. My hair also looks and feels healthier after she died it then when I walked in. After she fo fished dying my hair, she then took the time to style my hair, all while being extremely positive and kind and easy to talk to. The other women at the salon, the receptionist and another stylist were also very friendly and to me and to each other. After my haircut, the other stylist present asked Amanda about her process and honestly took time to appreciate her colleague's work, also while making easy and effortless conversation with me. The receptionist deep cleaned the salon the entire time I was there, without sacrificing awareness of those around her. She made dusting seem joyful somehow. Everyone was so professional and competent yet relaxed and friendly-it made for a general feeling of ease and comfort. I will be back for sure. This is the worst salon in Tucson. Don't go here unless you want your hair ruined. I booked with a hair stylist named Nisa. She turned my hair a nasty red orange color and when I told her I was unhappy and that it was not what I asked for she told me to come back in 3 months and she would charge me $75. I asked for my money back. She refused to fix my hair and refused to give me my refund of $120. The owner Donna does not care about the clients that support her.
