Love coming to Once Wild Salon! My two favorite stylists Mae and McKenna work there who I've been seeing for years (I would follow them to the ends of the earth). I was really happy when they moved into Once Wild - everyone that I've interacted with has been super kind and helpful outside of my two stylists. There have been several times where the owner has come around to say hello during one of my services I love the Davines products they sell (I think this might be the only place in Tucson where you can buy it!) highly recommend the Oi all in one milk. I recently followed my hairstylist over to this salon from another one. I like Jeana so I was happy to make the move with her. I feel like people tend to stick with a stylist they like? Anyway, the salon is cozy but bustling. They have a retail area in the front with a variety of self care items. They used Davines hair products, so if product is important to you, it's a good one! It appears to be a friendly place with a good vibe. I loved hearing from Jeana that the salon offers educational opportunities for the stylists, like product training and even social media and finance 101. I think that's great! I'm loving the quiet corner that my stylist is currently in. Otherwise, I'm not sure I'd be a huge fan of the space as the chairs are grouped pretty close together and it gets kind of loud for my personality type. Worth the wait! I'm new to the area and after having the same stylist for 20 years in Scottsdale, it's always nerve-racking to try someone new. Before booking, I followed Lindsey on social media for a few months and just loved her vibe and the work she did, so I managed to wrangle an appointment for a cut. Her salon is absolutely adorable... it's in a cool downtown neighborhood in an old historic home with tons of natural light and plants. She has great merchandise and styling products available for purchase and every one of the stylists was friendly and greeted me when I walked in. I knew from the moment that I met Lindsey that we were gonna vibe! She looked at the pictures I had collected, she listened to what I was wanting to do, she assessed my hair texture and natural curl, and was not shy about giving great professional recommendations. Her confidence and the plan she outlined sounded fantastic and I was happy to hand over control! I am absolutely loving the cut, and I am committed to working with her over the next year+ as I grow out my layers and bangs, and all of my color... and embrace my beautiful silver grays! Emma did a wonderful job cutting off significant length for me to donate as requested and making sure the bob afterward was absolutely perfect. I did not have a good experience with this salon. Per the recommendation of some friends, I booked a free 15 min consultation at 11am. A few days later, the stylist posted that she had available space for a cut at 12:30pm that same day, and I decided to just got for it. I mentioned to her that I had the 11am consultation scheduled. I showed up at 11am, and after being ignored for 20 mins, asked what was going on. She came over and said that it was nice of me to show up for the consult, but I didn't need to, and she thought I knew that. With the strict cancellation policy on the site, I was afraid not to without confirmation. I came back at 12:30pm and showed the stylist three reference photos. We did discuss what she was going to do and she started cutting. To be clear, I'm not saying that it's a bad cut overall or that the stylist is untrained, but it was not what I had in mind. I paid the bill and went home. The next day, I sent a kind message to the stylist on IG just to provide her with some feedback about how it wasn't really what I had envisioned and I wasn't very comfortable with it. She became very defensive and sent me multiple messages double down on this being what we discussed and talking about her artistry. I replied to her, deciding against arguing, and said I guess there was really nothing that could be done and just wanted to provide feedback - I was left on read. This cut cost me over $100, which I agreed to at the time of the appointment, so it's a disappointment to not be happy with the cut, not have a solution because it's already cut shorter, and have a stylist that is so defensive. read more

I made an appointment for 3pm on Saturday December 16th. For just blow out and hot tool style. I tried to also book a cut and color with their "curly hair specialist" I called the number that hairstylist had on the website. For no answer or call back. So I just said fine maybe it's a sign I don't need to color my hair. I then try to get to my hair blow out appointment but my car broke down. I tried to call to let them know I wasn't going to make it for the Google time to show me THEY WERE CLOSED AND NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE. so you're telling me that if my car didn't break down I'd be standing outside waiting for someone to do my hair for my work Xmas party?! Just overall not great experience for someone who didn't even get to try the service. Just over all big yikes. I would not recommend this place at all. I'm obsessed with this salon! The owner is one of the sweetest and most genuine humans you'll ever meet. You can tell she really values her stylists and making sure their needs are being met so they can meet your needs! I've been coming here for awhile now, following my stylist to the space and I'm always in awe of the beauty of the store as well as the quality of haircut I receive. I also really love that this salon makes their community as well as communities around the world feel seen in loved. We took part in a fundraiser where all of the stylists there came in on their day off to give haircuts to raise funds for the Maui fires. They also have community events where you can get tattoos, discounted haircuts, etc! Lindsey has created an amazing salon experience at Once Wild Salon. She is an incredible person and stylist, and has curated a staff of other wonderful stylists, as well. I am always warmly welcomed and absolutely love my hair every single time. Lindsey is magical and has blended my gray hairs seamlessly into blonde highlights that grow out so well every time. She checked in with me throughout the haircut and asked questions rather than assuming what I might want. I am so glad I went here. I saw Michele Martin & her attention to detail is impeccable. She understood the vision & it came out better than I could have envisioned - my hair has so much dimension & depth & the babylights blend in seamlessly. She has a great artistic eye, as was able to help me figure out what I wanted. Additionally, I was able to talk to some of the other stylists while I was there & everybody is so FUN! I don't think you could go wrong with anybody - the studio is bright & airy & delivers on the vibe. Additionally, they provided great tips on how to protect the integrity of my color, especially in our harsh desert climate. It can be intimidating finding a new stylist when moving, but I could not have picked a better place - I will most definitely be back! read more

This salon is SO cute, I love it! It's bright and airy and the furniture and decor are all excellently put together-- it's such a breath of fresh air stepping inside! James is a great colorist and stylist; I've literally never had anyone pay as much attention to my hair as he did. I have a LOT of fairly curly hair, which can be a pain to deal with, and coloring it can certainly be time-consuming. Despite all that he was extremely meticulous and took great care with my hair. He's great at what he does, and I couldn't have been happier with the work he's done. I've heard similarly excellent things from other people about their Once Wild stylists.
