I had surgery on my wrist just 2 days ago, so can't style my hair (or even wash it) on my own. Thought I'd try Drybar, so went this morning without an appointment. Lia checked me in, and I was fortunate that they could take me without an appointment. Lesley was my stylist. Lesley was very pleasant, asked a few questions about what result I wanted and how much hold and product I wanted, then took me to the wash area to get started. Not much of a massage with the wash, but it was nice to have it done. Back in the chair, she sprayed my hair with heat protectant and did a nice straightening blowout. She paid attention to detail enough that told me she'd like to use the straightening iron just a bit on my bangs. It came out nicely. The salon itself is very nice: bright and cheerful--very clean and orderly, too (sorry no pics...still not used to managing with one hand). Overall, a nice experience. I'll be going back...maybe sooner than I'd like, as it has started to rain again just now (I'm definitely not complaining about rain: bring it on!). read more

This was my second time at Drybar and it was better than the last visit. I wish I remembered my stylists name and it was it was not losted on my appointment confirmation but she did a great job with my blowout and it lasted for the entire night. She added 24 hour hold spray, which I hadn't heard of, but my hair look great all day, in the heat at an outdoor wedding. I was impressed. I would totally rebook with her. I foolishy trusted Drybar to do my hair for my wedding. Normally I do my own hair but I decided for a special event to get my hair done. I left the salon happy with the results and less than 4 hours later when it was time for my ceremony chunks of hair were totally flat. I did EVERYTHING I could to protect my hair before my ceremony and was devastated to see my pictures with chunks of flat and dull hair. My hair NEVER has a problem holding a curl or any style when I do it myself. I called the salon to ask about a refund and they had the sheer audacity to ask why I did not come back the same day, as if I would be late to my own wedding to fix THIER mistake. I provided pictures to the receptionist and she went to speak to her manager. Both the manager and the receptionist concurred that the flattened dull hair came from improper product use on my hair. Her manager offered for me to come in for a "free" service and failed to understand that I was not interested because my wedding had come and gone, there is nothing a free service will fix. While I explained this to the receptionist then asked to speak to the manager myself, the manager conveniently "stepped out for the day" as I heard her speaking in the background. I was given the manager's contact information and she conveniently failed to respond. I can't even imagine having such abysmal customer service after admitting your mistake. read more

I booked an appointment at Drybar Tucson weeks ago for a friend who needed a blowout before a work event. Today, literally an hour before the scheduled time they called trying to move it two hours later. This is the second time this location has canceled or tried to reschedule same-day when I've booked appointments for friends. It's incredibly unprofessional and completely disrupts plans that were made well in advance. Thankfully, Toni&Guy stepped in and saved the day with a same-day appointment. They were flexible, gracious, and everything a salon should be. I honestly can't recommend them enough. If you need reliability or you're booking for something time-sensitive, be aware that Drybar - La Encantada has not shown they can honor appointments as scheduled. Hopefully management addresses this, because the pattern is unacceptable. read more

Amelia did a beautiful job, however, she was a little rough ( if you're tender headed have someone else do your hair or just tell her) . It was very beautiful !!but it only lasted about 20 minutes. I have long moderately thick slightly curly hair (cultured) and she did not flat iron which means it gets frizzy! There was also not enough product in it to keep it from getting frizzy... SO IT GOT FRIZZY. I tried to get the southern bell, just did not workout for me. My niece also went and unfortunately, her hair went very flat in about 20 minutes. We would probably not go back, but it was a fun experience read more

I made an appointment for noon on Friday. I got in quickly the front desk lady was very friendly. My stylist was Heather. The massage she gave while shampooing my hair was amazing. You get a styling book to choose your blow up preference, I picked the cosmo style. My hair ended up absolutely amazing. The entire staff made an effort to make me feel welcome and I can't wait to go back. I think I need the membership! read more

I'm in my car about to leave for my hair appointment that I made at 12:15. I get a call at 11:50 saying they are canceling my reservation. Then later tells me I can come at 2. I told them that that's frustrating but agreed anyways. Then they decide to text me and say they are moving it to 4. This is so unprofessional due to the fact that I have friends going to there appointments today without a problem. I was already hesitant on going, due to their image being known as an awful place to do hair but the price and location was convenient. My sister and I recently had appointments for blowouts at this dry bar location. Due to traffic, we unfortunately arrived for our 10:45 appointments at 10:55. We called to give a heads up and were informed that if you are later than 9 minutes, they will not accommodate you. When we arrived, they told us that they would have to reschedule our appointments. We asked if this late policy was written or communicated to customers and they said that it is not informed to anyone. This caused us considerable frustration, as we were literally outside of this late policy (that no one but the workers knows) by one minute, the and we had to sadly go home and wash our own hair (an inconvenience that all women can understand). Would recommend sticking to your local salon, with understanding and accommodating employees! read more

A 9am appointment for a special picture day was booked weeks in advance at the only DryBar 40 minutes drive one way! Due to unforeseen "illness" of the stylist, the appointment was "canceled" 22 minutes before and a voicemail was left to notify me. It was followed up with a text message stating they are canceling appointment, sorry for the inconvenience and hope I have a wonderful day! When I called at 8:55 they did not answer because they weren't opened yet, then proceeded to call me back at 9am and at that point my daughter was already there for her appointment. In that phone conversation with Elaine (I'm assuming is the "Bartender" or shift lead) I asked for my daughter's appointment to be switched to another stylist and she said there's no one available. Meanwhile there was a stylist with an empty chair when my daughter walked in and was told about her cancelation with no resolution. I ask for the manager to accommodate the appointment and was told that there are no managers available to do so. Poor customer service, unacceptable communication, waste of time driving to and from (1 hr 20 min total time) as well now having to do own full hair (wash, dry and style you cannot achieve on your own) for pictures! This is why people book at a professional styling places! This was an extremely poor experience at DryBar La Encantada!!! My experiences and relationships with other DryBars in Phoenix/Scottsdale have only been exceptional so this one was quite a disappointment!!! read more
