Julio did not tell me, he just left the old shower handle in the shower, and put new tiles on top of the shower handle. Who's going to spending $10K on bathroom remodel and leave old shower handle. Julio would not fix this mistake and want to charge me extra for fix his mistake when I have already paid him to replace the shower assembly. This is truly a dishonest business. Julio does not communicate well and gets upset easily. He got upset when I wanted to see the material receipts when I am paying for the material and he got upset when I wrote his business name on the check instead of his own name. Do not use Castillo.

He was very attentive to the time-sensitive character of the work and walked us through all the technical requirements of the job. The price he offered was basically the same a the one we ended up going for. We did not end up working with Julio because he did not have availability this week but we had an excellent experience and his opinion fully coincided with the one of the company we ended up working with (given that their schedule was more compatible with our needs). I really appreciated Julio's profesionalism and I will definitely keep Castillo's Hardwood Floor in mind for future flooring jobs.

Level Flooring I had…read moredamage on my floor in 2 locations from a leaking plant. Level flooring was the only company that offered to come out for an in person estimate. Marius, the man who did the estimate was extremely professional and did amazing work. I was prepared to have a non matching section of floor but was extremely pleased to find Marius had matched the color extremely well. He is a master of his craft and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a hardwood floor vendor of any kind.

Personally I liked Vasile, hes a talker and he loves giving you promotional materials for the products hes using for the work being done. I could see it coming off as a sales pitch but he never upsold me on material or extra work, I think hes just passionate about flooring. One gripe I do have is I wish he had stained more samples for us to compare against the existing flooring. The old flooring has a patina that would be difficult to match but I think it probably could have been stained closer to what was there. On the other hand it matches the wood on the stairs so it is hard to know what the best option would have been. Overall I would recommend him and use him again.

PHF - also removed and re-leveled a horrible floor decline I had in the the living room. The new level is perfect; they laced fresh red oak wood, added new sub floors. Ilie immediately brought it to my attention and got to work on switch out the subfloor instead of just placing wood over it. Extended Review: I was you - I didn't have anyone who knew a floor installer for hardwood, and I was trying to google-fu my way into finding one. I stumble across Ciprian, see the 5.0 google rating at 360+ reviews, and think either "this guy must be amazing" or "he's got a great review bot setup." Turns out he's just that good. I sent him an email about wanting to add hardwood flooring to two bedrooms in my Chicago condo, ideally matching the existing hardwood flooring throughout other areas of the home. He responded within the day with a rough estimate, and within 3 days made a visit to take measurements and produced a precise estimate that night, along with a diagram of what wood species my floor was and what he recommended. The next day, we had the install scheduled for 3 weeks later. He set expectations upfront that the color wouldn't be a perfect match since it wouldn't be the exact same wood, exact same stain, and all the flooring wouldn't be installed at the exact same time. Ciprian delivered the flooring a couple days after that. I didn't know this, but apparently it's best to have the wood acclimate to where it gets installed prior to being installed (for expansion / contracting based on temp / moisture). Ciprian knows this, because Ciprian knows wood. On the first day of the install, him and his partner had the carpet removed hardwood slinging immediately while also replacing some old base plywood boards free of charge; they finished installing the boards in both rooms that first day. oved When it was time to stain, he wanted me there to approve it - he mixed 5 different stains and placed them throughout the rooms to compare lighting with the existing boards. He then went back and forth tweaking the best stain making it darker/lighter until he got the perfect match - it was a point of personal pride to try and match it as close as possible. Ciprian is professional, punctual, responsive, diligent, efficient, and passionate about his wood species (which is a massive green flag for the guy installing your hardwood) and most importantly about the quality of work he provides. He and his team finished a day early, matched the new floor's stain against the current floors perfectly, and left me with a new standard for contractors that's going to be really hard to measure up against. If you made it this far, you can take the final step and shoot an email to Ciprian for whatever project you have because you've found your guy - he is him.
