First I would like to thank John Kelly for recognizing that there was a problem with my air conditioning unit. I have been having a problem with my air conditioning unit on the second floor for the last three years, and for the last three years I have had hot miserable summers. We have had several technicians come out to look at the unit, (2 on separate occasions from Carolina Air Heating and Cooling Inc), and they all concluded that there was not a problem, that I needed a larger unit to cool the second floor. But clearly there was a problem. It's over 90 degrees outside, and the unit upstairs would not get below 80 degrees. But, strangely in the past it was able to maintain 74 degrees inside on the second floor when the temperature was over 90 degrees outside. My neighbor recommended John Kelly, because he was able to fix his unit. I have to admit after dealing with previous technicians, I had my doubts. Yesterday, was the test, since it was 91 degrees outside. My upstairs stayed at 74 degree!!! I have never been sooo... happy!!!! Thank you John!!! This year I will have a nice cool summer in my home. A few of my neighbors are having similar issues and I have recommended R & S Mechanics. You are the best!!!! Rude and messy. And when you call them out on their rudeness and messiness, they are even more unprofessional. I spoke to a manager on the phone and yes, I was still upset. But mainly because all they cared about was being defensive and the only thing I wanted was someone to validate my complaint and an apology. Which by the way, we have never received...except from Erin...which... The only two people that we spoke with that were nice at all were Erin...she was extremely professional on the phone and extremely helpful in getting things moving in a more professional way. And one of the guys that came to our office- Kenny. The other guy was rude and condescending. So, was one of the managers I spoke with, he was not concerned about addressing any of our complaints...only that I shut up and not complain. They came in and did not cover anything, took down the old unit out of the ceiling and water, gunk and mud was all over our floor. They were not concerned about it at all and pretty much said our floors were ugly anyway, so why did it matter. No concern for being professional or courteous. I am so just amazed at what has happened today. I have not run in to this kind of unprofessionalism in years...I really thought companies these days were better than this...Would not recommend them at all. read more

I am a real estate agent as well as a homeowner. The first thing that impressed me about RS Mechanical is how ethical and friendly they are. Instead of continually trying to up sell people by insisting that a new system is needed and them making more on labor charges as a result, they truly provide an honest assessment of the HVAC system and explore options for remediation. in addition, their pricing is competitive with the rest of the market for parts and labor. That is so important to me as a consumer, but also from a real estate perspective where I need to refer clients to various service providers. It has taken 17 to years to say I have found a "go to" HVAC company, but after using them 3 times now for professional and personal purposes I can truly say that I've found that company! read more

I've been with R&S for years. First met them as part of a Home warranty claim to replace one of my home A/C units. They could not have been more helpful and really acted as my advocate w/ the Home warranty company, who of course, could have cared less about me. Based on that experience, I switched to R&S for my twice a year checkups, and have always been completely satisfied with the technicians work. Amanda, in the front office, is terrific at communicating with you, and always makes you feel like a valued customer. AND READ THIS, R&S has never tried to upsell anything to me during the twice a year inspections. My former HVAC company, that is all they did.....Make the smart choice, choose R&S !!! read more

We use them for all of our properties! They are always on time! They always wear boot covers upon entering a house. They always find a way to fit our properties in when they are very busy. There pricing is extremely competitive. We find that have a ton of experience and can trouble shoot better than most other companies. A lot of companies that we have used in the past say, well this unit is old you just need to replace it.. We like that R & S Mechanical Services tell us well, yea the unit is old and it might be more efficient to replace the unit but we can repair it and the cost would be.. They give you options and allow you to make the call without any pressure. read more

The company I work for in Morrisville, NC is responsible for -- among other things -- approximately 40 large preconditioned air units. Whenever we have a problem we can't handle in-house, we call R&S for assistance. Whether the job involves trouble-shooting, repairing leaks, installing a new compressor, or simply checking refrigerant levels, the service has always been, prompt, courteous and professional. I've dealt mostly with serviceman Sandy LaMarre who is very knowledgeable and has always been happy to answer any questions I had about our equipment or the repair process, which I really appreciate. Working with R&S has been a very positive experience for us. read more

I called for service and was given a same day appointment. Jordy was prompt and explained everything to me and also my husband via the phone with no complaints. He did a through check up and explained what we had going on that needed to be fixed and the most cost effective way to get everything done. He even figured it another option for us while he was prepping for what needed to be done and stopped what he was doing to give us this option. I also like that you get a technician who will be the same each visit. It's nice to know who will be showing up. We will continue to use R&S and recommend them to our friends and family. read more

The system went out when the weather was extremely hot and muggy. The fix required disassembling a number of component parts....blower, motor, controls....and trouble shooting. John K got parts diagnosed, new parts procured, defective components replaced and reassembled and working just as fast as humanly possible. The system was working perfectly except the home humidity was running a little high. Jeff P came out, made a few fine tuning adjustments, and the humidity levels dropped immediately. Love these guys! They care.....and they're good!! read more

I've known the guys at RS Mechanical for quite some time. When I had issues with my heating/AC they were always on time for the service call. When it came time to replace my old unit, RS Mechanical was professional in their quote and replaced both my units. The replacement was tidy, on time and very professional. Follow-up phone calls to see that everything was working correctly when the seasons changed was appreciated. They even came out and checked things over a couple of months after installation. A professional company all around. read more

We signed up for the RS Mechanical regular maintenance plan since they were the ONLY AC company that was able to fix our problem (after several other companies had tried and failed). He came last week for our AC maintenance and did a great job! It's wonderful peace of mind to know that our AC is in good order heading into the heat of summer. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because he didn't return our upstairs thermostat to its original temperature. I went upstairs to put the kids to bed, and the AC was set on 60 degrees!!! read more

Ive had several great experiences with this company so far. Used them originally to repair my AC unit which they did at a great price and with great service. I now have their yearly check ups and they are always great to work with. They come out as scheduled and are very responsive to any issues. John Kelly is the best. He's very knowledgeable and very friendly. He explains everything perfectly and made us feel more at ease about how our units are working and what to expect. Great place overall!!! read more

I had multiple AC units worked on by RS Mechanical. The man who came to do the work showed up right when he was supposed to, and called first to let me know he was on the way. He was friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. It took him a couple of hours to get everything done, working hard the whole time. He got the non-functioning unit going, solved a noise problem with the other, and cleaned them all. It was not cheap, but good professional service seldom is. I will definitely have them back. read more

We recently moved to Raleigh from Tampa FL. After dealing with a few other HVAC companies that did not return calls or show up when they said they would, we contacted R&S. We are thrilled that we did. They are consistently professional and their follow up has been exceptional. They also are very competitive on their prices. We are now recommending R&S to other contractors, family and friends. Awesome experience with them. They've made a customer for life. Happy we found them. read more

I bought my new HVAC unit from RS Mechanical. I shopped around and got a referral from a friend and ended up giving them a call. Their prices were all in the same ballpark of the other HVAC companies I contacted but they offered a better financing program so I went with them. All in all, I am very happy with my new HVAC system and the technicians were prompt and professional the whole time. I would recommend this team to anyone looking for an HVAC company. read more

Great Service Provider! Our company is very pleased with all of the services we have received from R&S Mechanical. They are incredibly prompt and professional when responding to service requests. They have offered competitive pricing and give very detailed reports and explanations of the needed repairs. They even offer plumping services. I would recommend them to any homeowner, management company, or tenant. Thanks for keeping things cool this summer! read more

Fast, efficient, courteous and thorough. Here's the kicker - they did exactly what they said they would do! They answered my call quickly. They called prior to arriving. They waited to speak with me while I was on another call. They reviewed everything to be sure nothing else was amiss. They went over the service, bill and options and were friendly all the while. I will use them again and refer them to anyone who wants a quality job done. read more

I have used R&S for commercial and residential purposes. This company is great. All of their employees are very professional and make you feel as if you are a part of the team. You will always be in the "know" with what's going on and when your job and appointment will take place. They take the time to do things correctly and give proper options when a problem occurs.
