I was sure it was my sprinkler valve, but had an issue changing the valve: The pipes were too tight! I texted Don and got my hacksaw, but luckily he texted right back. He was able to squeeze in a quick visit before the weekend, and found that the water regulator for the entire house was making the pipes shake. My sprinkler valve was just fine. That regulator had given out after 30 years. With that replaced, all problems were solved. He even arranged for a quick stop in on SUNDAY MORNING to make sure we were set. I've happily referred a couple of my neighbors to Don. He's a true master of plumbing, and I wouldn't call anyone else.

I'm sitting here…read morewaiting for them and they just messaged me that they no longer have the appointment and they won't be available until later this week. This was urgent and now I have to find another plumber to fix the problem at the last minute. Sending stupid follow up messages saying oh we need this and we need that and we need something else before we will actually give you the appointment that we've already told you we have is unacceptable I work two jobs and I don't have time to play these games. If you say you have appointment get the information you need upfront or stop doing business on yelp. I'm sure they will respond with some sort of excuse, but this is ridiculous. It is amazing to me that they managed to find my phone number to talk to me about this review, but they couldn't be bothered to find my phone number to confirm the appointment. If someone doesn't respond to something like this, you need to try just a little bit hard harder. I hung up on this gentleman because he insisted on arguing and wanted me to take down my review because he didn't think it was fair. Too bad.

I originally contacted Travis based on his reviews on Yelp. a source I have come to rely upon. I…read moreonly had a small job I thought, replace a bathroom type ceiling exhaust fan that was in the laundry room of the house I had just recently bought. A malfunctioning exhaust fan is an odd problem to handle because electricians don't want to deal with duct work or anything they consider HVAC and HVAC people want to work on/replace furnaces or air conditioners not exhaust fans. Through Yelp I found and contacted Travis at Handyman Plus. He made an appointment and showed up right on time. The "broken" exhaust fan was not actually broken it turns out, nor was the switch which seemed to do nothing. It's a type of continuous running whole house exhaust fan unlike anything I had seen before. The wall switch which appeared like it might be broken wasn't it's just the way this fan operates. Travis got me all the information I needed to look up this fan and learn how to use it. A few weeks later I had a medicine cabinet I wanted installed in our master bathroom. As the wall area to be opened also housed the electric line to an outlet I asked Tarvis to do the installation. Again this was a small job, not the scale of work sought by many people in an up economy. Travis made an appointment, texted me when he was on his way and did an excellent job installing my cabinet; without hitting the power line or electrocuting himself. I'm really pleased with the work but more pleased overall with Travis of Handyman Plus. He is professional, thorough, capable and resourceful. I would not hesitate to call him for much larger jobs.
