RE: QwikResponse (QR) emergency services and general contractor services Having sustained a large leak that caused around $80,000 damage, we contracted with QR for both emergency services and reconstruction services. The emergency services that entailed removing drywall, insulation and hardwood flooring were accomplished with rapidity and efficiency. The subsequent drying period and surveillance was well documented and the multiple visits to our home always accomplished on time. We were visited on many occasions by the president of QR, Steve Knight, checking on progress and planning for reconstruction. The reconstruction entailed hardwood floor, baseboard and toe-kick reinstallation, drywall application, insulation, painting, caulking, and was accomplished with the same efficiency and attention to detail. Difficult problems and their solutions are what define the integrity of a contractor. We have built two new homes and remodeled another. Anyone who has done the same knows that all cannot go smoothly at all times. The hardwood installation, installed by a well-known flooring contractor subcontracted by QR, failed due to unanticipated severe atmospheric conditions not conducive to a successful result. This was in no way the fault of QR. The initial consideration for remediation was complete sanding and refinishing of the floor. We felt this would not leave us with the floor that we paid for and would likely have left us with an unstable floor in terms of reactivity to future humidity. QR agreed to have the flooring removed and replaced, the cost of which was in the tens of thousands of dollars. We agreed to utilize the same subcontractor, believing in the expertise of his company which was simply sabotaged by the unanticipated atmospheric conditions which led to the floor's failure. Steve and Cheyne Knight, CEO, arranged and supervised the preparations, materials ordering, environment and reinstallation to assure that every aspect of the process went according to plan. The reinstallation is perfect. We feel that, had we not been contracted with QR, the resolution would have been far more complicated and likely would have involved litigation. We are grateful for the expertise and integrity of QwikResponse and its employees and recommend them unreservedly for emergency services and reconstruction. read more

My realtor recommended QwikResponse Restoration & Construction. She is well known in the community and knows companies that are known for doing a good job. QwikResponse was very courteous, efficient, and came right away. They explained everything to me and I appreciate their wonderful work. QwikResponse was upfront and told me what was required of me. They told me what they would do and how they handle water damage. This is my second home and I am not there all the time. It is important that I could trust them. There were no areas that fell short of my expectations. The only thing was that they put a lockbox on the front door to assess the house. This is a second home for us and we are not always here. I told them to get with my caretaker. The lockbox was the only miscommunication. I called them and they quickly apologized. QwikResponse came right away with our water damage. It was important to respond quickly because you do not want mold to grow or the issue to get worse. My contractor came out to take a look at it. We did not want people to rip out more than needed to be done. He looked over their shoulder. What QwikResponse told me was exactly what was required base on what I contractor told me. This was a weight off me. I am glad they were honest and not doing more than needed to be done. They made sure they cleaned up and nothing like mold was growing. I really appreciated their work. I would recommend QwikResponse Restoration & Construction to anybody. Our realtor recommended them first above other companies. I look at her recommendation as a high one because she knows people and the community and she chose them. The manager over the guys and the workers were all great. They would come out to check things. They all were well coordinated. They worked well as a team. The only miscommunication was the lockbox which was minor. The interaction between everyone was great. They all worked well together and knew the plan. QwikResponse Restoration & Construction was great. They operated like a well-oiled machine. They knew what they were doing. They were quick. I would recommend them for any water issues. read more

We experienced flooding in our downstairs area , QwikResponse was recommended by our insurance carrier , they told us that they did great work & had had wonderful experiences with them . My husband & I had never dealt with contractors before , we had been told by other people that it will take a long time to complete the given work as contractors do a little bit here & a little bit there , they won't be able to commit to just our house . We found that not to be true with QwikResponse . They came out & completed the job in a timely manner . Charles Baker was wonderful to us through this process . He explained everything to us so we could understand what was going to happen at each stage of the restoration . He always came at the appointed time to talk to us as did his crew . The crew that was sent to our house did an excellent job restoring our house to an even better house than before the flooding . We are so very very pleased with the way they handled our situation , with the timing , the restoration , the workmanship & leadership . The crew were very clean & took such great care of our home . They were extremely thoughtful & wanted to be sure we were pleased with their work & asking if we wanted to change anything as they wanted us to be happy . Even offering after the job was complete was there anything else they could do for us . I would highly recommend QwikResponse to anyone who needs their services . Sherrie F. read more

These guys are quick to move all your stuff out of the house in case of disaster. Great. Then they will stop taking your phone calls and don't bother to put anything back. It took them WEEKS to get my furniture back into my house. While it sat in PODS in my driveway. Every time I called from my cell phone-- straight to voicemail. Call from my work phone-- immediately they pick up. These guys are taking advantage of people. Slime. Find someone else who will actually finish the job. And NEVER pay them until they finish the job. They will take the initial payment and ignore you. UPDATE: The names in this post are not real. I am using "PODS" as a generic term. You claim that you cannot find any matching customers. Could this be some kind of "fake review"? Well, it's pretty detailed and complex for a fake. Consider that if you can't find a record, or get an employee to admit to anything, that doesn't mean it didn't happen. Actually it could mean at least one of three things: 1. I am lying 2. You are lying 3. You don't have a grasp of what's going on in your business, and/or your employees/contractors are not being truthful with you Personally, I think the smart money is on number three. With the level of incompetence I have been witness to, I would not be surprised. UPDATE 2: After weeks of waiting, no shows, etc. we finally got everything back. They still haven't invoiced us. At least that's slow too. read more

We were away on vacation, and when we returned we found our entire house had been flooded from a broken feed line to the back of a toilet. We got in touch with Qwik Response through a referral from a friend and we are SO GLAD WE DID. They arrived within 2 hours of our call and worked for several days removing 3000 sq feet of wood flooring as well as all the drywall up to about 3 feet. Their employees are excellent and very hard and skilled workers, as well as being great people. It took 14 days with about two dozen heated fans and air scrubbers to dry out the portion of the house affected by the flooding. I give them my highest rating in every category and strongly recommend anyone with an emergency such as ours, or any really, to call the great people at Qwik Response over any other company available here in Santa Barbara. THEY ARE THE BEST and their 'quick response' to our situation was the sole reason that mold didn't start growing that would have caused much more serious damage since most insurance (ours too) has very limited coverage for mold. We are on the road to getting our house back thanks to them!!! read more

I had a pipe burst in my kitchen wall and water flooded down over the sill plate and foundation. It was only going on for a few days before we noticed it, but caused quite a bit of damage. There was also damage from the previous owner's mistakes. QwikResponse did an excellent job of assessing and remediating the damage and helping me work with the insurance company. It was a big job and there were a few hick-ups, as there are bound to be with a large and lengthy project. But Cheyne and Marco were right there, accommodating and helping me to work it out and being exceptionally professional. Honestly, it's hard to find people with that much integrity in any industry, perhaps especially the wild and wacky world of mold remediation. But Cheyne and Marco showed exceptional professionalism and integrity the whole way through. And those who were at my house doing the work were always professional and willing to work with any changes that came up. I know people who have used other mold remediation companies in Santa Barbara who have had horrible experiences. I won't mention names, but wow, I'm glad I worked with QwikResponse! read more

We discovered a bad water leak that was leaking inside the wall behind the vanity in my Master Bath. The leak wound out taking out both my entire Master Bathroom, down to the joists, but also my downstairs Den. What could have, and should have, been a horrible nightmare of a repair job turned into a mere inconvenience when I was lucky enough to have had QwikResponse recommended by my insurance company. Everyone from Steve the owner to Victor my Project Manager to Jose the Lead on my jobsite and the ENTIRE support staff in the office were incredible. They all went far above and beyond to turn what should have been a horrible disaster experience into a well managed, always explained, professionally handled step by step rebuild. Before I tell you my story you need to know this: When your property is damaged, when it is a total mess, and you realize that you are going to have to try to collect on an insurance policy, call QWIK RESPONSE first! They have already mastered the work, the materials, and the process. Call them; use them; count on them. You will be glad you did. Here's what I had to deal with: My rental property in Santa Barbara was flooded by a backed up sewage line causing extensive damage to the laminate flooring and walls. I needed IMMEDIATE help with the clean-up, demolition, reconstruction and finish work. My insurance was involved and paid for the work but only because the owners at QwikResponse knew exactly how to communicate, quote and invoice the carrier. Steve Knight, the owner and his team did an outstanding job of the entire process, from initial response and actual labor to the paperwork and follow-up with my Insurance carrier. A. I have had the bad fortune of having been in need of restoration services for mold and water damages several times in the past year due to various incidents. I have had the excellent fortune of having Qwik Response around to help! Throughout the various stages of the repairs to our home, they have always been prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. The quality of their work is excellent, both in terms of mold remediation and the reconstruction afterwards. Honestly, they did a better job with my drywall repair and painting than the actual painter I had come in after our first project. We are still in the process of having the final step of remediation and reconstruction done, but I'm entirely confident that they will earn these five stars AGAIN, so I'm just going to go ahead and post this now. Thank you so much to everyone at QwikResponse! read more

An amazing company!!! It took QuikResponse only one hour to arrive after I found a horrible hot water leak under my house. They arrived with three large trucks and 10 workers to pack up my house and remove soaked insulation. Throughout the entire construction job there wasn't a single day when groups of very competent people weren't working to remove damaged floors, walls, cabinets and then rebuilding my house. The house was expertly and carefully rebuilt. Every person who worked here was extremely polite, and happy to help me and each other. They worked with my insurance company on every detail and knew exactly what needed to be done. I've never seen a construction company or any group of people work so hard and with an amazing positive attitude. It made the construction not just bearable but a positive circumstance. I highly recommend them. read more

Our rental property in Ventura California was vandalized during a brief period of vacancy. Just about everything in the house was destroyed and had to be replaced. Cabinets, counters, toilets, sinks, and all the appliances were destroyed. Because of all the water damage, we needed to replace most of the wallboard and all flooring. Tom from Quick Response worked diligently with our insurance adjuster to obtain a dollar amount that would allow him to get this property back to market condition. Tom and his coworker Karen were wonderful to work with guiding me in our choices of replacement materials. The house is better than new now and I could not be any happier. read more

I am a Property Manager of a very large vacation beach rental property. Since the first phone call to QwikResponse until the end of the job, they did an amazing job. I had 4 rooms with water damage and they came in and fixed everything nicely. The water damage clean up and the build back was done exceptionally. I think I got their A crew with Nathan, Jose and Hugo! Great job, very professional, kept the premises clean at all times and... They finished the job a week and a half early! That is unheard of. I am very impressed with their work, I will use them on my property in the future and would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

Back In July 2019 my condo was heavily flooded and water damage mostly everywhere. But Andy Andrews and the QwikResponse team were a pleasure to work with from beginning to end to get my place to even better than what it was. It took a few months to get the work completed but it was worth the wait. I understood that getting things right after a disaster like a flood is a process and takes time. Working with Andy made the process manageable. He was upfront and responsive when I had questions and concerns. I would recommend QwikResponse to anyone. Thanks Andy and team! read more

We had a fire in 2013 that caused a lot of damage to my CD collection. The collection is extensive and means a lot to me, but monetarily I had no idea of its true value. Tom Svenson of QwikResponse helped guide us through estimating the value, and how to make sure the insurance company paid what it was worth. We had countless questions and concerns, and he was always there to answer them on nights and weekends when I'm sure other contractors turn off their phones. QwikResponse was really there for us, and I would recommend them to anyone. Fred C read more
