My review is a little different than the typical because we didn't actually end up having these guys do our floors. I was opening a new business and our current flooring contractor looked like he wasn't going to be able to get out epoxy floors done at the 11th hour. We called SB Surfacing and they sent a guy out the next day and were prepared to get our floors done after hours on the weekend just to help us out of a pinch! UPDATED REVIEW!!!!! I received a phone call from Rick stating they want to make it right and make their customers happy. HE SUCCEEDED!!! I'm very happy with the deck now! Too bad Rick cannot be in 100 places at the same time to supervise the work. I get that. I'm very pleased that he made it right, and that shows....he is an honest man and wants to please his customers. To repair this situation, it took more than power washing, sealant and paint. It needed the sand REPLACED after the power washing washed it away. The labor men were just doing what they were told: power wash, seal and paint. Period. So, we had a misunderstanding, it was repairable and we are all moving on, lessons learned. Thank you Rick for making sure the job was done RIGHT. That's all us customers want. Thanks again! 1. Incorrect measurement of Sq Footage 2. Arrived without any samples of colors 3. They basically only offer the flaked options. 4. When i addressed them about hte Sq footage misqoute (significantly higher than other floor companies and our own assessment). We assumed they did not remove the dog shower and the tiled area that were being left untouched. However the office person stood firm on their quote. 5. They also promised it by week's end and it took a few weeks for the qoute. 6. The person who arrived told us to look online for more color and example images but it turns out their website is not updated so it was a waste of our time. Time Waste all around. See my next review for who we chose to hire. And wait for the amazing before and after photos. We do hope this feedback helps SB Surfacing improve. I suggest: A. Bring samples. B. Update website + instagram with images. C. Offer to re-measure when such a discrepancy D. Keep your word even give or take a day or two, not weeks. read more

I really would like to leave positive feedback, but I just can't. We are 3 weeks into a pool deck project that was supposed to be 3 days long. We've had to have the crew back multiple times and they still can't get it right. They left our place a mess and unusable over the 4th of July weekend, left stains on our other patios and most recently left the job with giant holes on the underside of the coping we were trying to repair. There are still major issues and they are now charging us extra! So frustrated that we've had to miss out on work and other summer activities. So much for a company who promised us we'd be 100% satisfied. So disappointing! Update: the boss came out to check things out and fixed a couple holes in the deck, but refused to fix them all. He "philosophically" opposed?!? No idea what that means, but more of the same poor workmanship and customer service from this outfit Newest update: going on week 4! The best in the business! Santa Barbara servicing came out to my house in Simi Valley. They did a 1000 square-foot epoxy coated garage floor, laundry room and patio for me. They completely resurfaced the concrete by grinding it smooth. Leveled the laundry room and blended it into the garage floor perfectly. Then they filled every crack with epoxy, then they ground the floor again. Then they put an epoxy film down and coated that with flakes, then put a top clear coat and came out awesome. Before they got here the floor was a mess. The patio had pits, cracks and Divots all over the place, Keep in mind the floor was over 50 years old and I thought for sure I was going to have to tear it out and replace it. But to my surprise the Santa Barbara Surfacing crew did an amazing job. It is completely renewed and better than plain concrete. We are so impressed. I contacted them when the original company that did the coating on our decks a one subsequent re-coat sent out a sales person (to quote on another re-coat) who looked like a "gang banger" and offered to give us a "deal" with a big discount" if we paid them cash (no checks or credit cards).
