I opted for the marina view with a black cup of coffee. They have a large variety of options between breakfast and lunch. I chose to have the crepes with berries and cream cheese filling which were light and delicious. The service was quick and efficient. I was able to customize my own coffee with milk and flavors of my choosing which I appreciated. With the outdoor seating I chose to enjoy the beautiful Saturday morning with the marina in the background and read some of my book between sips of coffee, and bites of crepes. I hope to head back north again soon, and will ensure that there is a stop here for breakfast as it is the perfect spot to begin the morning at.

Not…read morebeing a Cedarburg resident it's an extra 20 minutes out of the way if I'm stopping after work or a 40 minute round trip if I'm just heading from home, but I'm happy to make the trip. Their menu consists largely of Mac & Cheese, wraps, paninis and frozen custard. Being a Wisconsinite it really resonates with me. I get the classic "original" mac and cheese every time. It's always consistently good and it's still warm after my 20 minute drive home. They use a less common noodle that is quite large and the portion is generous too. The other menu item I'm always to is the shake of the week. They always have a different one and they're always good. Oh, and I have to mention their salads. Not for me, but my mother likes them as much a salad she gets anywhere else. Another thing I appreciate is the fact they have an app. An app for a local place isn't common in my experience. This makes it easy to order in advance so you can skip the line, skip the phone call and better still earn rewards. Finally, I have to commend a few of the guys who work here. Two gentlemen in particular who both are always pleasant and personable, which alone is commendable, but they've also both been there a few years. They both seem to be managers, but I'm not sure, though I wanted to recognize them. Both are older than the general staff and both are there various weekdays.

I'm not the type of person to often ask for help from retail employees. I take pride in being…read moreself-reliant, unlike a lot of members of older generations. However, the few times I have been forced to ask for help with something while shopping at this Meijer, I've invariably been met with palpable disdain from managers and employees at having to be bothered by a customer. It's really quite alarming how consistent it's been, despite the fact that I am a polite person who remembers to preface with "please" and end with "thank you". On top of that, if you see something on sale, you MUST take a picture of the shelf label, because it will almost never scan at that price. $2 item that says buy one get one free? Nope, they're going to scan at $4.99 each. They also go for weeks without restocking basic items. Aside from these issues, it would be a great store, but it suffers due to the employees' resentment. If it's because they're not paid enough, I sympathize, as everyone in retail deserves more than what they're paid, but at the same time, you know the amount when you take the job.

We were shown a quiet booth immediately by a nice woman and given cold water and menus. We ordered cocktails - both of which were refreshing. Mine was supposed to be neat, but came with a ton of ice, but it was a small inconvenience. Note - they do have a massive gin selection you can access via /QR code if that's your jam. I ordered the German Kasespatzle, their main vegetarian offering, $20.00 - Hand Made Spaetzle, Caramelized Onion, Roasted Carrot, and Mushrooms with Mozzarella and Gruyere Cheese. We got Bernie's Bacon on the side for $4 for my mom to eat with her half. She ordered the crab cake special, which we also shared, which was as the server promised, no filler. Overall, this was a nice meal and tasty. The Spaetzle was rich and luxurious, very much like my grandma used to make. The roasted carrot was a new addition for me, but not a bad one. The crab cakes were very good, but basically came with a bunch of shredded plain lettuce and nothing else. I'm glad we visited and I would come again if I was in town, but this is definitely a place that favors a meat eater.

I called and…read moreordered 100 subs about a week in advance of the event as a courtesy for the amount that we were ordering. I did ask2 questions. One I have a tax exempt number because of this is a religious function and second was that I had a 20% off coupon. I was told I could use both. Using that 20%off made is reasonable to be able to order the subs. Upon looking at the receipt, I thought that the amount was more than I had calculated. The receipt only showed $10.00 for the 20% off. (My entire bill was $385.00) Which made the amount well above what I was expecting. Also noted that we could not obtain points because it was past the 4 days to enter. EVEN though we didn't pick up and pay for the order until the 19th. Upon asking the store manager about these questions he was polite and just stated that it was the corporate policy about the limit of $10 off. I did not note that on our phone conversation. And that yes, the 4 days had past. The manager gave us the corporate number to call. We did contact them and they just told us that it is the policy that the limit was $10.00. Even though we were not informed or that was noted on the coupon. All corporate would do is give an additional points. How would that help our past religious even or even a few subs credit. I have ordered from them before for this same event and had no issues. But the cost was also less which made it reasonable to use them. The subs were great and ready on time. My complaint is that the corporate offices are not in tune to keeping recurring customers. I will not be using Cousins again for any further functions. Will also try different Sub shops chains in the future.
