The review is for the breakfast buffet only. We came here twice, yesterday at 11:00 am and today at 9:30 am. Let me start off with today's experience.
We came here on the invitation from a time share salesman. We were offered a seat on the upper level. As my wife has arthritic knees, we turned this down, so we had to wait five minutes for a lower level table. We were seated and was given polite service. No one working for this resort has ever been rude. A waiter stops buy and asked if you would like juice, coffee or water.
This is a traditional breakfast buffet, so they have the grill were they cook the eggs to order, pancakes and waffles. There are steam tables with items such as sausage, ham, tamales, potatoes, chiquiles, beans, beef strips and so one. Cereal, fruit, cheese, breads and pastries are available. Only thing missing are fresh tortilla's, never could understand why they omit such a basic item. All in all a very relaxing experience.
Now the morning before, it was a different experience. In order to clear out their buffet table, Quinta offers a two for one buffet. So there is a rush of hungry eaters that would make any college dormitory proud. They wanted my wife and I to go upstairs, again, no deal. So we waited a half hour before a lower level table was available. Much of the items on the steam table were empty, there was a huge line for the grill, the cheese tray was soggy and unattended, there were missing items in the bread and pastry area. It was not good.
To top it off, on the 11 am breakfast, the staff began clearing off the tables and baskets for the morning. There was much clanging of dishes, food being shoveled into containers and just noise in general. I was waiting for one of these people to mop the top of our tables. There was definitely a "bums rush". Eat your food and get out.
For the 9:30 am experience, four stars, for the 11:00 am experience 1 star. Come early, it's not worth the savings. read more
