Margaritas and that's the only picture! We were hungry & tired after our early flight - great to chill with Ritas and tacos.
Michele P.

Our first meal at Vidanta Riviera Maya, we ordered Mahi tacos & shrimp tacos. Frozen margaritas were so delicious and refreshing. Our waiter Adrian was so friendly and attentive. When we returned two days later for breakfast he remembered us! We could only eat one taco each and took the rest to our suite for another lunch. We couldn't help snacking on the warm, thick cut chips with guacamole. Such a great lunch to start our vacation at Vidanta. Lovely place, bright and cheerful, and pristine line the entire resort. I wish we could buy the colorful "glass" fish hanging over the kitchen area!

Delicious, fresh fish in a sit down restaurant steps from the pool at the Grand Mayan. The wait staff was fast, the food was well prepared and we enjoyed a lovely upscale lunch at Vidanta Resort. They do not require reservations and we were seated right away in this air conditioned respite from the heat. We would definitely return!

This is the first place we ate at in Mexico and I couldn't have been more pleased. We tried a few appetizers, grilled octopus, guacamole and chips with salsa. I ordered Mahi tacos. Friends had a beet salad and shrimp salad. We were surprised the beet salad wasn't served with lettuce but the taste was delicious. We still ended up to go bags and enjoyed it later in our room.

The "Choripan" and mashed sweet potatoes

If you plan to spend most of your time by the Mayan Sanctuary pool, Limon y Sal will become your best friend - it's right next door. Between the fish tacos and the choripan, we had a pretty solid meal! We tried the sorbets for dessert, but the texture was off; seemed like they had both been over-churned. Great service though! Note: if all the menu prices seem inflated, keep in mind a 16% tax and 15% gratuity is already included in EACH menu item's price. :)

Calamari, chips, margarita oh my!

My 1st stop to start my vacation at Mayan riviera Vidanta. It's a great environment very large dining area with booths, tables, and the likes. The calamari was yummy in addition to the dipping sauce which tasted more like a hoisin sauce. I also had the magi tacos and mashed sweet potatoes. I strongly encourage you to try the mashed sweet potatoes.....yummy. The margarita was not for me. I could have had a much lower shelf drink that wasn't $12.25. YIKES. Strongly encourage you to try this restaurant while vacationing at Vidanta.

Great service and cool al fresco vibe, you start of with a big basket of tortilla chips and a variety of salsas. I started off with a Ahi Tostada and Wifey started with a seafood soup which were both tasty. We shared a fresh Catch local Hogfish and Grilled Octopus which were absolutely delicious! Four items, and two drinks with tip came out to a little over $50 usd. Definitely worth the visit!

The vibe is super relaxed, with all seats in the sand. My kids enjoyed chasing the iguanas and sitting on the palm tree (which strangely grows parallel with the ground) while we waited for our food. We didn't see the option on the menu but our guide told us there is a big cooler and you can just pick out your fish to get it fried up fresh for you. Sure enough, there was a huge white cooler where we could sort through the fish options and pick one the right size for our family. It came with sides like beans, guac and tortillas, and all meals come with chips plus tomato and jalapeno salsas. We also ordered ceviche and the total price was less than $40 for a family of 4. More importantly, everything was super fresh and delicious! I wish I lived nearby so I could come back again - I would be a regular if I could!

It's a beautiful restaurant situated at the beach club that is only open to grand luxe members. We had a beautiful table situated right at a set of open doors that looked out onto the beach and outside seating area. The one bad thing was the bugs!! They were chowing down at our legs even after we applied bug spray! We got the seafood paella for two- very yummy. The octopus was by far the best octopus I've ever had. It was cooked to perfection! The clams and mussels were so small- not meaty at all and that was upsetting. The rice was done wonderfully. However, i could have lived without the artichokes. Two other people in my party shared two dishes- the Brie and filet mignon on sliced bread and a ham dish on sliced bread. The Brie and filet was AMAZING. So delicious and perfectly cooked. The calamari was delicious with the aioli sauce. The fresh bread was great and served warm. The potatoes were great and very good size wedges. Overall it was a great meal and the service was awesome. Our waiter was pleasant, polite, accommodating and his English was superb.

I have stayed in Puerto Morelos three times in the past two years and gone to El Picudo about 6 or…read moreseven times. It's easily my favorite seafood restaurant in Puerto Morelos - which is full of seafood restaurants. The bad part is that there is no ocean view and no air conditioning, you need a car or a taxi to get there and the staff speaks little English. The good part is that it is clearly a very popular local place - my party has always been the only obviously non-local group in a usually crowded place- and the seafood is amazingly fresh, perfectly prepared, served fast (considering it is made to order) and delicious. The portions are enormous. The price is reasonable. One can eat like a king for 15 to 25 dollars a person. My favorite is the octopus ceviche. The octopus is soft and fresh and perfectly cooked. Tossed with very fresh finely chopped onions, tomatoes and peppers in a lemon, chili and cilantro sauce that is not too spicy. The best ceviche I have had in Quintana Roo. A medium portion is a very ample appetizer for two people or a satisfying meal for one person. We generally follow up with the whole fried hogfish, around a pound of perfectly fried fish, very fresh, crispy on the outside, moist on the inside, nicely salted. Served with a salad, a small portion of yellow rice and a really strong hot sauce on the side. The octopus escabeche and the shrimp with garlic sauce are also excellent choices. A cold Corona beer (or two) completes the meal.

The good: - Located at the Grand Mayan, pool side. - Precautions are taken with covid. Servers wear masks. Tables are socially distanced. - You can sit outdoors and have a meal. - Guacamole and assorted cracker basket pair well together. The bad: - Nachos are horrible. Do not order unless you want to eat burnt tortillas doused in rancid oil. - Severely understaffed in one of the busiest locations. - Doesn't offer water. It must be bought. Went for lunch while hanging out by the pool. I had been a few times in recent years so was happy to be back until this experience.. I had sat down and ordered before a large table was being served, except, they received their appetizers and drinks before me. I chalked it up to minimal wait staff. The nachos I got as an appetizer didn't look right. Many chips were burnt to a crisp. Thinking nothing of it, I began picking at the middle parts but a couple bites in determined that they didn't taste right either. The person I was with agreed. To me, they tasted like the oil had been reused over and over. I waived down the server to express my dislike. He didn't seem impressed. Seeing other tables recieve a complimentary chip basket that we didn't get was strange, so I waived down another server to ask about it. The server we asked wasn't our guy so he passed on the memo and our guy returned annoyed by the request saying he had forgotten. Plus everything took so long.. Given that I had to switch out the nachos for something else, went with the mixed yellow ceviche (appetizer), which was really good and made up for all the earlier mishaps. My dining companion requested a grilled salmon burger. They had eaten it at another location on the property one night and compared the two; this fishy was much smaller in size. Yet, we made do. My ceviche was really good. There were lots of different kinds of seafood in it; scallops, octopus, grouper and salmon in a citrus marinade. It came with nothing but since we had a complimentary assorted chip basket, that's what I ate it with. Keep in mind that they have two menus; lunch and dinner. Not all the offerings are provided in both menus. Lunch has more selection.

We decided to check out the Blue Fish since we heard from a couple of people their ceviche was good. We decided to give it a try & see if the Blue Fish really lived up to its hype. Upon arrival , the restaurant was very modern , and the vibrant colors filled the room with its lavish surroundings. I loved the ambiance of the place. The service was excellent, and the ac was blasting which was really nice. I also loved the complimentary bucket of chips. It was different and had plantains and sweet potato chips on top of the tortilla chips. The 2 dipping sauces were both very good as well. Drinks Margarita: The margarita was okay. I was hoping they'd have a lime on the edge. It was a little bitter for my liking but it was drinkable. 3/5 Chavela: My God I think this would have to be the best Chavela I've ever tried. It had a nice balance of saltiness and was super refreshing. 5/5 Food Mixed Yellow Ceviche: This ceviche had a mix of different fish. It had scallop, octopus ,grouper ,fresh salmon, with a yellow Peruvian citrus chili sauce and cilantro .I loved the flavor. It tasted like it had coconut, ginger, and citrus. It was amazing. Had this twice because it was that good. MUST HAVE! 5/5 Peruano Ceviche: Carribean grouper, red onion , Monzano chili pepper , lime juice and cilantro . This one was okay. Just tasted very citrusy (lime ) felt like it was missing something. 3/5 Annato Crispy Calamari: This dish was Such a disappointment . The Calamari was burnt to a crisp and almost tasted like fried squid. It was too over cooked 1/5 Tacos Gobernador: I've never had shrimp tacos before and this one really blew Me away . The tortillas were fresh, the shrimp was marinated in chipotle Chile & the Oaxaca cheese tied everything together. It was amazing!5/5 Seafood Alambre tacos: I thought I would've been sick of tacos already but nope. They have so many different variations , why not try everything. This taco was a little unusual ( in a good way ) It had shrimp , octopus , calamari , and scallops cooked in bacon . Yes you heard me , bacon . Bacon makes everything taste better. The flavors meshed well together and the tomato avocado salsa made it exceptional.5/5 Overall this place was our go to since we were craving seafood a lot and the ceviche really hit the spot. The service here is amazing and our waiter Josue really gave us world class service . Our table kept rocking back and forth since the floor wasn't leveled and he took out a paper, folded it and stuck it under one of the legs and voila , problem fixed . 5 star service . As for the food stick with the mixed yellow ceviche and the gobernador tacos and trust me you won't be disappointed!
