Amazing food! Walked by an didn't seem like much. Once we sat down, wow all the seafood was amazing! We had the tuna sashimi and cocoanut shrimp! Wow! Great drinks. Will be back again

This is a seafood restaurant that's dedicated to the tostada - a crispy, toasted tortilla that is flat and topped with anything. They have a huge menu with all kinds of topping combinations - all kinds of seafood, vegetables and dressings. There is a heavy emphasis on tuna and salmon on their menu. The tostadas also come in both cold and hot versions. We tried several of the tostadas. The cold tostadas reminded us of ceviche and were seasoned in a similar manner. I preferred the hot tostadas though. The Caramel Tuna (tuna covered with chipotle dressing) and Argentina (octopus were avocado) were two that stood out as being very juicy. The ingredients tasted fresh and the staff were friendly and attentive.

The ceviche was not enough fish and mainly cucumber, which I consider to be a filler. The dish needed something more savory as a balance. The tacos were fine but nothing exceptional.

Happy to come back here. A lot of fish choices. And love the shrimp broth! Decent prices too for this area of Playa

Came to Las Hijas de la Tostada for a late snack at PDC and they didn't disappoint! What we got: Tacos de pulpo al mezcal Tostada camaron caramelo Frozen mojito The location was perfect for people watching, the music was fun, and the service was quick and friendly. The frozen mojito was one the best I've had- couldn't taste the alcohol whatsoever but I definitely felt the effects hahahaha. The octopus tacos was good, but the highlight were the shrimp tostadas! My fiancé liked them so much he ordered 3 more for himself!

Located at one of Playa Del Carmen's busiest intersections, and amongst over a dozen locations across Mexico, Las Hijas de la Tostada promises guests fresh flavors and innovative combinations in a casual atmosphere with prices appropriate to the concept. Selling "The best Tostadas and Seafood in Mexico," a bold statement spread across seven menu pages as professional wrestling plays on televisions overhead, it is while ocean breezes blow through the open-air space that guests are treated to good service, thick complimentary Chips enjoyable with Salsa but far better with what might just be the creamiest Guacamole in town. Divided across several sections, both the muraled multi-leveled space and Las Hijas' bill of fare, "Chef Suggestions" prove a smart choice from start to finish, "Camaron Caramelo" from the Hot Tostadas an elegant fusion plate incorporating Asian elements while the Raw "Copan" utilizes sautéed Onions plus crispy Leeks for texture atop Ceviche Mixto. Less thrilled by room temperature New York Strip, marinated but just past rare despite the suggestion it is grilled, those seeking the Restaurant's best bite should instead focus on Mezcal Octopus Tacos that see the Cephalopod left with some texture and able to stand out against a complex background of Peppers, Tomatoes, melted Cheese, Avocado and seasoning.

The food here was fantastic I recommend getting the chiefs suggestions. My grilled Octopus tacos were f*cling fantastic. The DJ was good to a little too 40 and some dance hits but overall a good set list. I loved the art here as well as the view of the rest of the strip. Bonus they take debit and credit a rarity here. Estephania was my waitress and she was so kind and patient even attempted some English to match my broken Spanish. Overall would definitely recommend did I mention they were playing Shaft on the TV .

I came to one of these locations 3 years ago via my cousin's recommendations. It's a small place with white and blue decor. On a less busier side of LA Quinta ave. If you are a person who loves tostadas and ceviche, this is definitely the place for you. Ceviche isn't my go-to, but the ceviche they serve here is so unique and not like anything I've had in the US due it's creative combinations. For example, we go the salmón tostada, which consisted of salmon, avocado, cucumber, red onion, manos, etc. Also, we got the tostada de sandía. That was a unique one, consisting of ahi tuna, watermelon, red onions and habanero. These combos are so interesting and all the ingredientes pair so nicely. I was so excited to come back again. This is definitely something you should try, because ceviche like this is not common in the US Customer serve was also great. Very attentive, patient, kind, and can understand English (for those who don't know Spanish). But I always recommend you try speaking Spanish, it's much appreciate it and they'll give you the benefit of the doubt

This was the home of my absolute favorite tacos in Playa! I am in love with the mar y tierra tacos. I always would come and attempt to take it to go but I ended up eating it there because it was so fresh and delicious. Their Wi-Fi also has a really decent speed when I had to do a little bit of work before going home. It's right on Quinta and off my favorite street, 38, so I could quickly walk to the beach or back to where it was residing. Their staff is great and they made sure to provide hand sanitizer before allowing patrons to come in. Definitely a favorite down there.

Some people say this is a tourist trap for those who don't speak Spanish but want somewhat authentic Mexican food. Doesn't matter what they say, my friend and I enjoyed our meal here! We got three different tostadas and a large plate of grilled vegetables to share. Everything was tasty. I enjoyed the shrimp and mushrooms, but my favorite was the grilled veggies. Everything on the grill was sweet and juicy. We enjoyed the attentive service, when we had questions our waiter answered all of them. Oh and we got BOGO mojito, always a plus.

For my entrée, I had the skirt steak, and it was tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The sweet potato with honey and cinnamon was absolutely delicious. My only real complaint is the portion sizes on a couple of items. The salad was very small, and I would have loved a more generous serving. I also ordered an amaretto sour. It was a little weak at first, so I asked for more amaretto, which made it better, but it still wasn't quite as strong as I prefer. The service was phenomenal. The staff was attentive, kind, and genuinely friendly throughout the entire experience. I felt well taken care of and truly enjoyed myself. I would definitely return.

My girlfriend takes food very seriously so it's hard to find good spots and this place really impressed her. We came back two days in a row to try different plates and they all slapped. (Chile Rellenos, quesadillas, salsa wheel, tacos, ceviche). The drinks were amazing as well. (Pina Colada, margarita - they have happy hour 4pm- 6pm) All of the above would be enough in itself but the staff was really friendly and accommodating without doing too much. I.e They don't come across as fake. Anyways, if you are looking for a spot to try in Playa Del Carmen, eat here at least once and see what's up.

The tacos were packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and served hot and fresh every time. You can taste the quality and the technique especially in the way the meat is cooked and carved. Everything felt simple but done right, which honestly is what makes a taco stand out. The atmosphere is lively and busy (for good reason), but service moves quickly and efficiently. It feels like the kind of place locals actually eat at, not just a tourist trap with hype. We fully intended to try different taco spots around Playa del Carmen... but after our first visit, we couldn't resist coming back. Location 5/5, Service 5/5, Food 4/5, Drinks 5/5, Clientele…read more2/5 *more on that below* This spot has one of the best beachside settings in Playa del Carmen. The entire restaurant, including the bar, is literally set in the sand, with tables right on the water just a few feet from the ocean. It's barefoot, toes in the sand dining done right, and the atmosphere alone makes it worth the visit. We did have one hiccup in the evening due to a rowdy group from a drone company that was extremely intoxicated and invasive of our space. Their belongings kept ending up on our table, and there were drunk men taking their shirts off and doing shots just a few feet away. Not sure if they didn't have enough tables or what, but we had made a reservation to celebrate a special event months in advanced, so it was a bit irritating. The servers eventually handled it and intervened multiple times, but at no point were they asked to move or relocate. Once that group settled down, the night became a much more enjoyable experience. We were a party of 12, and every single person raved about both their food and drinks. For drinks we had: Prickly Pear: Made with Orange Blossom Condesa Gin, St Germain, fresh lemon juice, rosemary syrup, mint, and strawberry. Bright and refreshing, though it came with more foam on top than expected. Coco Loco: A fresh whole coconut with Patrón Silver tequila, vodka, rum, gin, pineapple juice, and coconut cream. A true showstopper. Don't be intimidated by the mix of liquor, it is smooth, refreshing, and dangerously easy to drink. No hangovers were had. Espresso Martini: Simple and clean with a light foam. Well executed, but not a signature cocktail compared to the others. For food we had: We were surprised with an amuse bouche of huitlacoche, often called Mexican truffle. It's a corn fungus with a rich, earthy flavor and this small bite was outstanding and set the tone for the meal. Queso Fundido: Oaxaca cheese with chorizo and flour tortillas. Great flavor, but very thick, making it a bit messy and difficult to serve. Guacamole: Prepared with tomato, onion, cilantro, and cotija cheese. Perfectly seasoned, fresh, and especially enjoyable paired with the queso fundido. Brisket: Served in chileatole sauce with huitlacoche truffle, carrots, and cotija cheese. Comforting, rich, and deeply flavorful. Robalo Guayaba: Guava sea bass served in guava sauce with chiltepín chili. Beautifully cooked with just a little too much sweetness and citrus. It would have benefited from a little bit of heat, or a vegetable or side to pair it with, as it is not served with anything other than a cooked slices of lemon. Creme Brulee Mexicano: A rice pudding infused crème brûlée with caramel and vanilla ice cream. A thoughtful twist on the classic, with the rice pudding adding depth and warmth to the dessert. Knocked down to 4 stars due to the rowdiness of some surrounding guests. We were seated on the sand and needed to walk through the entirety of the restaurant, but people without tables or reservations were standing in the middle of walkways and sitting on the steps down to the beach, many too intoxicated to stand up. I'm hopeful this is not the usual clientele, and I would return for the quality of the food, drinks, and the gorgeous setting.
