Wow. Without a doubt, this place deserves 10 stars. This was THE BEST meal I had while traveling in Ireland, and may be one of the best meals I have ever had. After almost a week of eating fish & chips, we wanted something different. We almost went somewhere else but changed our minds last minute & it was clearly an excellent decision. The restaurant is tiny with limited seats for approximately 15 people. However, we had no problem finding seats for 2 people. We ordered the pan fried salmon with salad (AMAZING) and the cod fish & chips (again, AMAZING). I originally wanted to order the sea bass, but they were out of the sea bass & I opted for the salmon. The salmon was cooked so perfectly & seasoned incredibly well. The plus: it was not fishy in the slightest. The cod fish & chips was delicious, which is not an understatement after we had lots & lots of fish & chips on this holiday. You can absolutely tell their fish is high quality & fresh. Even the side salad was fresh. I cannot complain about one thing. And I am so glad we found this place. If you are in town...YOU HAVE TO STOP BY. You will absolutely enjoy it!

Truly enjoying my dining experience here tonight! I came with my friend and ordered the Fried Cod + Chips: the BEST fish and chips I've had in Ireland! Very fresh and tasty! Reasonably priced too! I believe it was 16.95 for this order + smashed peas and a soda. Definitely recommend!!

Fish and chips

Definitely worth going for fish and chips I like the mushy peas too. You get a very generous portion for the cost. Service was good make sure ,however, you tell them to include a tip before they ring in your bill. We had just landed in Shannon that day and headed straight to Killarney for late lunch and did not have any lose bills.

I was recommended this place to eat from a lovely couple in Quin/Ennis area. The ladies working were incredibly kind and our food was ready within 5-10 minutes! The salmon was absolutely delicious as was the salad and the "real" potato chips we were given to try (add vinegar and salt) yum! I would absolutely stop here again or at another Quinlan's location! Delicious!

A very good fish and chip shop in Tralee, the concept is excelent, very well thought through, and generally ticks all the boxes.

Amazing fresh sea bass - reasonable prices and delicious

Wife and I stopped in as we were traveling through. It was a great price for fresh seafood. I got the pan fried sea bass and I would definitely head back to this restaurant If I was in town

Fresh from the ocean, to the shop and to your plate or can take away.

The price is more than fair and the quality is really good. I ordered the pan fried seabass and my wife the pan fried salmon. Both were delicious. The chips were excellent. I took off 1 star because of the salad. It had too much onion so beware if you're not an onion fan like us.

Massive onion rings.

We ordered the following: Starters *House cured salmon and cod in nori seaweed - excellent, sushi quality, the cod was nice and salty, portion wasn't the largest *Warm smoked mackerel with horseradish and dill dressing - really tasty and a nice portion *Flash pan squid with chiles and coriander- outstanding with a kick Mains *Pan fried black sole on the bone, dill, and toasted almond butter-maybe the star of the show, a large portion, fall of the bone and the toasted almond butter was awesome *OOTB fish selection; John Dory, sole and halibut fillets served with a lobster sauce - the fish was great, but the lobster sauce had zero flavor *Dingle bay lobster from the tank- we got the last one, it was excellent The beer and wine were excellent. The service was great. The interior had a tile floor with a sort of Mexican fishing village theme. Reasonably priced for top level fresh seafood. Highly recommend.

The front is a basic and unassuming, but neat, blue building. Inside remains simple, but quality, with light wood, soft light, and sea themed decor. As the menu changes so frequently, a dish can run out that evening, it is handwritten on a chalkboard that is brought to the table. It was very difficult to choose, the entire menu was well done. The brown bread was also the best of the trip, theirs had more seeds and the right balance of dense. Be careful to not fill up on bread as you will not want to miss any of the rest of the meal. Since the menu changes so frequently, describing what we ordered is not helpful. Both dishes were incredible, fresh, cooked perfectly, and with interesting and well matched ingredients. We ate every possible bite. We managed to save room and share a dessert, worth every calorie. I'm surprised to see any negative reviews. In my option, for the quality of the meal, the prices were completely reasonable. If you are in Dingle (which if you go to Ireland you absolutely should as the town deserves a visit), make reservations!

My wife had the toastie, she has decided she isn't a fan of toasted bread on her sandwich so she was pretty Luke warm on hers. I had the open face prawn and smoked salmon sandwich on brown bread with the Marie Rose sauce. Prior to this trip I would have not ever likely ordered this for lunch. But I am a huge fan of the Brown Bread and the Smoked Salmon has been fantastic. Again, I was not disappointed, my meal was great. The prawns and the salmon were both great and the bread was a thick cut slice which added to the meal. I'm a fan!

At the point that from the outside, we were asking ourself if we were not dressing too casually... But you just need to enter and you'll see normal people, enjoying a drink or food. The food is nice and elaborated, I remember that they had a nice choice of wine and beer as well. They cooked my meet perfectly, as I would eat it in France. Regarding desserts, they were not the best but my fiancée enjoyed them so bad ! So I guess some are good and some are not that tasty... Pretty expensive for a whole diner, but you pay the unique architecture and the "fanciness" of the place...

This meant loosened belts and full bellies most of our time in the city and we couldn't have been happier! On our second night in town, we were after an early dinner as we had plans at another local pub later in the evening. After a stroll around town, Mad Monk was the spot! Apparently Quinlan's is a small chain with several spots around Ireland, and after popping in, we can tell why. The thing that stood out the most for us at Mad Monk was the freshness of all the goods, specifically the seafood. I enjoy a good grilled or pan seared fish filet, but being in Ireland, it was my mission to try as many fish and chips as I could, and Mad Monk was next on the list! Before we dove into our mains, we did order one of the only non-seafood dishes on the menu, the braised beef croquettes. They were absolutely tasty, and set up our mains very well! We both went with the traditional fish and chips. The fish was perfectly fried and flaky and the tartar sauce was *chefs kiss*! I will say, as with most chips around the island, the chips were a bit underwhelming. They were slightly crispy and fluffy inside, but I am not a huge fan of steak fries and they definitely could have used a bit more seasoning. Service was solid, efficient and friendly. The space is quaint, bright and sleek. Lots of woods and blues, which definitely give the vibes of seafood. Overall, Mad Monk was a solid spot and one we glad we visited during our short stay in Killarney!

Cronins sits on a Main Street through Killarney and feels like old world Ireland from the road to the table. It has a storied past in Killarney, being open over 60 years at this point. The space is as you would expect, cozy, local and welcoming. The menu is rooted in local ingredients including seafood, beef and veggies. We popped in for an early dinner and had an appetizer of the Smoked Irish Salmon, which was fresher than expected. Such a simple dish, but it was executed perfectly. For our mains, we had a burger and the Shepard's Pie. Burger was good. It was juicy, well cooked and the onion relish thing they had going on was *chefs kiss*. The Shepard's Pie was spot on. Both were made with local beef, which was cool and extra tasty! Beyond the food, Cronins also has their own cider, which was phenomenal and oddly enough, the only cider I had the whole time I was in Ireland! That speaks more to the hold Guinness had on me and less to the variety of cider. After the cider, we went with a few house cocktails including the Clover Club and Dingle Donkey. Both were well prepared, vibrant and tasty! Service was uniquely local, friendly and fun! From the bartender to our server, they were both excellent! Overall, Cronins is a stellar spot in a great spot in Killarney! When we get back over the pond and to Killarney, Cronins is on the list to swing by again!
