    BBQ survival with spaghetti side

We saw the menu for this restaurant at about every place we went around town and decided to give it a try. We were seated right away and our server got us beverages and took our order in a timely manner. I ordered sauteed shrimp, but couldn't have the suggested sides, due to dietary restrictions. They were happy to let me have a salad and soup for sides instead. The French onion soup was cheesy and delicious. The salad was a standard house salad. There were eight large shrimp with melted butter, plus a few mixed veggies on the plate. I left satisfied. There was plenty of parking and the restaurant had a mix of tables and booths.

Finally found a rare spot around here that has a decent food menu for selection, gave good portions, at reasonable prices, and all tasted decent as well! Will definitely have to come back to try some other stuff.

This restaurant was so cute with its decor. It was full of historic memorabilia on the walls in memory of the copper mining industry. The waitress was very kind, you can tell she was very busy with many tables. It was A LOT of food. The dinners came with a soup or salad, a huge dinner roll, and the entree. We could have forgone the appetizer if we knew how much food we were actually about to get. The French onion soup had a huge layer of cheese on it, which I wish was more crispy and left under the broiler longer. The trout almondine was beautifully crispy and cooked perfectly. The vegetables are just frozen veggies and kind of mushy. The loaded baked potato was delightful. I wish I had room for dessert!!

They have great burgers, you also have to try the French onion soup, some of the best I have ever had!

Perfect service, great menu and quality food. Who could ask for more? Had a party of 10 with no problems.

We were all famished after a weeklong backpacking trip from Isle Royale, so this was a great pick because the portions are generous and food is delicious! I got the daily special which was a grilled 1/2 chicken with some kind of balsamic glaze, asparagus, mashed potatoes, and side salad. They let me choose the homemade strawberry vinaigrette as my dressing (not one of the typical side salad options but is part of one of the specialty salads) - it was incredible, with a great balance of sweet and tart. Salad also had a good variety of veggies, with cherry tomato, peppers, and cucumber in there in addition it the lettuce. It was a generous size for a side salad. As for my entree, my chicken was incredibly moist and flavorful. Not just a generic grilled chicken - the marinade gave it a unique flavor and I absolutely polished it off. Asparagus was cooked well (not too mushy), and mashed potatoes were buttery and flavorful without being too salty or gummy. All this was for $17.95, which was a great value for how much food I got! I tried my friend's Roadmaster entree (pork ribeye marinated in sweet soy and topped with bourbon apple compote) and that too was tender and delicious. I have no regrets coming here and would love to come back and try the many other options that sounded appetizing!

I ordered a cheeseburger with grilled onions and french fries... My food was delivered hot and tasty. Service was prompt and friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant when visiting the Houghton area and would definitely return myself.
