It is a homey place with a wide variety of menu items. Everything is homemade and delicious. The prices are reasonable. The waitress was friendly and efficient. It was warm inside because the weather was warm and they have no AC but the fan helped. read more

This business RIPs off tourists that eat in the restaurant! They overcharged me by a lot of money. When I returned to the restaurant, upon, seeing the charge on my phone, the owner promised to credit my account. She never did. I WILL CONTACT the state attorney general about this, and I will urge all tourists to avoid this restaurant! Owner has no values. She lies. She cheats tourists out of money. Negative stars if I could give them less than one star! Crooks! read more

I tried to go out for breakfast with my family and friends. we were a group of 7 with a baby. they rudely said they could not accommodate us. and pushed us out. but it's strange because i was here with the same people/amount of people and they sat us with no problem and no questions asked. her delivery was very rude to us. so don't go here if you have a large group! read more

I should clarify before I begin, this review is only for breakfast. We were not able to have lunch as they only serve breakfast on Sundays. Got seated pretty quickly, though there was a large line of larger parties waiting. Took about 10 minutes to order, though they were busy so I can't fault them for that. I had the Canadian Special with a side of challah toast and sausage, and my wife had an omelet with rye toast. When our food finally came there was a lot of confusion as to whether or not it was our food or another table's food. Then we noticed that neither of us got the toast we ordered, though we were assured it was. For the food, the eggs were very overcooked and thin. The potatoes were okay. The sausage was very bland and overcooked, almost dry. The french toast was decent; nice and thick. Wife's omelet was okay. She said the "rye" bread tasted like whole wheat. I felt bad for out waitress, she was very clearly trying her hardest and had too many tables to take care of. I plan to come back and try lunch (what I was hoping to get originally), but won't be back for breakfast. read more

The staff was super friendly and the food was some of the best food I've had in my life! Someone really put their heart and soul into this place and it's become a new favorite restaurant!! read more

If you're looking for a calm, comfortable, homey feeling this place is for you! Staff were very friendly and came throughout to check for coffee! I loved how they weren't coming every 5-minutes to check on how the food was, making jt feel like home. Very relaxing spot and the food is fantastic! Tried their Finnish Pancake, sausage and potatoes. Incredible and came out SO fast! Whatever is in that homemade jam healed something in me. Perfect spot to stop in before work. read more

Quaint spot but service is slower as there's only 1 cook and 1 server. Our server was friendly though & we weren't in a hurry. However, we were disappointed with the food. Cinnamon roll is more like a small loaf of cinnamon bread, the bacon was very greasy with no crispiness & had a strange flavor. Nothing we had was very flavorful or left is wanting it again. read more

Food was very slow coming out, and service was very rude. Overall not a good experience - there are a handful of other solid breakfast places around Houghton - I would definitely recommend one of those instead read more

Absolutely one of the best menus and breakfasts we've ever had. The chef (didn't get her name but learned her back story ;))... was fantastic, friendly, funny - you know, the whole UP experience. Super comfy and relaxed. Lots of great jockey memorabilia. Highly recommend. The 3.5 stars on Yelp should be 5. read more

The french toast was too doughy, and low quality. The service was even worse. Our waitress only approached our table a few times and we were not able to ask for things like hot sauce or ketchup because of it. Eventually our friend had to get up and walk to the kitchen to ask because we waited for a while, and they laughed and called her 'needy'. Eventually was brought what we asked. However, our water cups were never refilled. read more

DELICIOUS! And incredible low price. After camping and traveling, this was a welcome discovery. Thanks so much for a delicious breakfast. read more

Not sure this place deserves 5 stars, but I was still fully satisfied with my garden omelet and rye bread. The place is small, but clean, the women that was there (maybe the owner?) was friendly and prepared my food quickly. The blueberry preserves are the main reason I will be back. I should have asked if she sold them read more

Surprised... fresh vegetables in the omelette, really good bread, very reasonable prices.

Been coming to Vicky's for years both when as a student and after I graduated I always make a point to stop in. Vicky is an absolute delight and yes sometimes you have to wait because they are busy but just get yourself some Turkish coffee and relax. The food is always delightful. read more

I had a great breakfast here this morning. I got the miner's omelet, which was huge, and a homemade bagel to go along with it. My waitress was very friendly, the food came out fast and it was exactly what I wanted. read more

Yuk. Hideous food. It's cheap, but garbage. Burnt eggs, gummy toast everything tasted like it was cooked in a dirty pan didn't get the gross taste out of my mouth for 2 days read more

Refreshing to have such nice service, very kind and sweet and the food was great, had the special finish pancake with wild blueberries and a homemade raspberry jam on the side was so delicious, very pleased with coming here and very sweet & helpful ladies working today. read more

Perhaps the slowest service we've had in years. Pretty straight forward order - 3 omelettes, 2coffee and 1 hot chocolate. The initial coffee and hot chocolate made it to the table within 10 minutes. Refills were about as rare as unicorns. The restaurant was less than 50% capacity - still can't figure it out. Kind of a bummer, because we had heard so much good about this place but I can't recommend it because after an hour we had to go and never got our omelettes. By far, the worst service I have had. We will not be back! read more

Victoria's Kitchen - Here's the worst omelette never served. This place has the worst service I've ever encountered. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Houghton, Michigan

Victorias Kitchen has been serving my breakfast since day one in Houghton, and I Wouldn't have it any other way! Quite often I find myself ordering omelette's however when I have tried the lunch menu it did not disappoint me. The only downside to Vicktorias Kitchen is the chance that if you come on a very busy day, perhaps welcome weekend up at MTU you may have to wait a bit for your food. Fresh pastries for sale always and jam in the late spring ! read more

Stopped here for breakfast on our first day and we already decided we will be back at least one more time before we leave. The food was fantastic. I had the Canadian Combo with a slice of French toast, eggs and some toast. All of the breads are homemade here. My son had the Finnish Pancake and wasn't thrilled to share bites of it with the rest of us. It was delicious. I highly recommend this spot for breakfast. It's a small place on the main road and doesn't look like much but the food inside will not disappoint! read more

Breakfast and Bakery were absolutely amazing However, talking to Victoria herself and the time she personally gave us was more than memorable. read more

Really sad to have had such a bad experience here. I have come here 3 times now and have regretted it each time. The service is always awful, rude, and accountability is never taken from them. Being that I work in a restaurant, I'm a little more patient and understand things happen but when It's hard to get the servers attention for refills on coffee or anything really, it can be really frustrating. She walked passed us multiple times without checking on us. Only half of our food was brought out and we were never told if/when the rest would be out. When my friend finally went up to ask for hot sauce and ketchup she was called needy. The food itself was not very good and wish it could have been better. The only upside that it is a cheap breakfast but this experience definitely does not make me want to come back again. read more

Loved this place! I think every single thing my party ordered was made from scratch, and it showed. Absolutely delicious. Everything was made to order for us by our server (Victoria?) and she was lovely. Tons of vegearian options as well. Will definitely be back. read more

Was not what we expected at all. Took a very very long time and the eatery was not busy. Food was average. More of a Heath conscience atmosphere as owner repeatedly mentioned her no protein preferred diet. read more

One of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Most places can't do mushrooms right in an omelette and they have rocked it here. Literally everything on their menu sounds delicious. read more

Friendly staff and great food. When you enter this establishment you are immediately greeted by the extremely friendly and down to earth staff. You truly feel at home here. The food is euphoric as it is made fresh to order and causes feelings to emerge which I didn't know I ever had. read more

The worst place I've ever been in my entire life. The place stinks and they don't have any management. Today I went there for a double date for the first time and after taking our orders nobody showed up for 1 hour and when I went to their stinky kitchen to see if they forgot about us they Reacted aggressively and said "if you don't like it there is the door"!!!! read more

We had a terrible experience at this place today. We were meeting two of our friends for the first time for brunch here. Waiting from 11:00 to 12:10, and our order was not ready. My bf asked them about our meals, and they were the most rude, uncivilized EVER on earth(!) showing him the door and telling us we can leave! I would rather cook my own omelette at home and never have to deal with such people again! We left for other place as they guided us! No apologies, no manner, no civilization in that kitchen! If you are looking for a brunch place, try Suomi and you will never see these types of owners/waiters there! Besides their food is so good. Stay away from Victoria's Kitchen. read more

We came her for breakfast. We will be back tomorrow morning before leaving town. The food and customer service was incredible. My wife ordered a Denver Omelet and I ordered the morning special 2 eggs potatoes and toast. I added bacon too. What we got: the sever omelet had fresh perfectly grilled peppers and onions and the best cheese. The Mrs says it might be her best served omelet ever. The bread is freshly made with homemade with sides of homemade honey butter and jam. The bacon was just to our liking too. My eggs were great but I really enjoyed the perfect potatoes. Diced up chunks of baked potatoes grilled and served with her secret seasoning. Really good! The thick cut bacon was served not limp but not over crisp either. Our server the owner and cook was super friendly. We will be back for breakfast before leaving town tomorrow. I highly recommend breakfast here. read more

I just had my worst dining experience ever at Victoria's Kitchen in Houghton. It's a busy day, lot of outsiders in town, so I called ahead to check on the wait and was told 10-15 minutes. Finding that reasonable, we arrived between 12:00 and 12:05 (busy time) and it turned out that the wait was shorter than anticipated. We were seated by 12:10; so far, so good. We quickly got our order in and then relaxed. And relaxed. And observed. And wondered. After 90 minutes, people who came in after we ordered had already eaten and left so I tracked someone down to check on our order. We didn't get an explanation (presumably our order had somehow gotten lost in the busyness of the day), but when our food finally arrived the cook/owner came out from the kitchen and chewed us out for complaining, saying that there was no way we had been there for 90 minutes (at which point it had been an hour and 40; even had phone calls and photos texted from inside the restaurant to prove it). So, instead of an apology we got crapped on. It was at this point that I realized that this is no longer a "these people are having a bad day" situation, but rather a "these people are batsh*t crazy and we should never come here again" situation. I cannot recommend Victoria's to anyone. read more

I've been coming here my entire life. Vicki really takes care of her people, if you pay attention she has regular customer that have come everyday for YEARS (even decades some of them). There is an elderly community near by and they love coming here because she treats them so well. She also has several dogs that will come and stop in front of her shop for a treat that she has for them. The food has always been amazing, I enjoy the J&N Omelette, Canadian Combo, St. Petersburg beef, Siberian Chicken (Or Turkey), motherearth salad, I could go on and on! She is very accommodating to food allergies, and this is the top place in the Houghton area for vegetarian/vegan options. I notice that a couple people who'd written reviews and critique the food. However, they really need to read the description for the item before they order it. (IE the J&N Omelette and Fiesta Omelette's come in pastry shell and eggs/ingredients are scrambled and held in the shell) read more

Seated for around 50 minutes before getting our 2 omelets. Others around us that arrived later got their food first. Not full capacity due to covid but this was still much too long to wait then our bill came as a blank guest slip with $17 written at the bottom. Wow read more

So gross no flavor at all in anything so unsanitary the woman today was touching phones and what not whole touching all the food with no gloves on gave me rotted lettuce on my sandwich and our sever asked us if we needed more time to order before I could finish my sentence she was gone and didn't come back for 20 minutes the inside is dirty as well will never come back read more

Victoria's Kitchen is a great little breakfast spot and deli in the old Marie's Kitchen location. They do have a room in the back for large groups but call ahead to reserve it. All the fruits and jams are grown on a nearby farm. There is a gift store off to the side full of Finnish candies - a real hidden gem for the locals. The waitresses were really friendly and joked with us. We had the soup, salad and 2 sandwiches. They were all great and we will definitely return. read more
