We were probably the oldest people in there. Samples are gladly given and we ordered two of the IPA's. Delicious and cold. We struck up a conversation with two locals; they mentioned combining two different beers to make a Strawberry Blonde. Very good, but I liked the IPA better. Excellent vibe with outdoor seating, but it was in direct sun. The list of brews is pretty extensive. No food available, but you are welcome and encouraged to bring in anything you like. Great place, good vibe, cold craft beers. Highly recommend. Oh, service was good and we struck up conversations with both bartenders.

The interior doesn't retain much charm of the rich history it claims. The service was at a snail pace (we saw tables with more people ate their food and left way before us)! Then there is the mediocre food again we come to learn in Houghton. The Ahi tacos lacked flavor besides the wasabi taste. The shredded coleslaw mix was piled up high to disguise the tiny amount of tuna buried underneath! Husband got the Italian pasta with shrimp. The $3 up charge for burned garlic bread was insane! But again, this is expected in Houghton. You get charged extra for protein and bread when they're usually included in the meal! Guess this is standard in the UP. Overall, this is definitely NOT worth the hype! If you're looking for historic character then you need a different restaurant. Would not recommend it!
