I'm a big fan of these stores. This is QuikTrip store #1149 and it's located just off I-85 exit 48A (east): US 276 - Mauldin, Greenville. It's big, bright, clean, and relatively new with 24 gas pumps (one of the most I've seen), ample parking, and a convenience store stocked with many food and drink options and a polite, well-trained staff. Gas prices here are among the lowest in the country. We stopped inside to grab a pick-me-up for the road. We went to the QT Kitchens and ordered one of the company's new cold brew coffees. Using the tablet at the counter, we customized our cold brew to include sweet cream and vanilla flavor. On the touchscreen ordering system, QT describes their cold brew as "ground, steeped and held cold for 12 hours to make an extra smooth coffee over ice." It was poured to order. It cost only $1.99 plus tax and the portion size was large. The drink was cold, refreshing, and delicious. It really hit the spot. Nice work, QT. I'll be back.

This QuikTrip is brand new construction and is less than half a mile from my work. It is very…read morebright, clean and well laid out. What distinguishes QuikTrip? Well first of all the check out registers are set up to operate from both sides, meaning that one person can handle two lines while folks are fumbling for change or entering pin numbers, etc. Instead of being distracting, this is highly efficient. Secondly, they really have brought the fast food, or snack food addition to the convenience store back into the forefront. I am reminded of a chain of convenience stores/gas stations in the Mid-west that was called the White Hen pantry. These stores had a full service deli, fresh cut meats and lunch deli sandwiches made to order. I had not thought that would be appealing, but at the time, I was a traveling salesman and the convenience combined with the appeal of healthier food (versus standard fast food) at the time was a great option. QT is similar. It is also very popular with the teenagers for the same reasons - decent food options, great beverage options (slushies, coffee and a variety of flavors) and it doesn't feel divey or like eating at a gas station. This is also a more appealing option than the gas stations with the Subway or McDonalds or other branded fast food because the options of choices are not limited to only that chain. For a quick lunch, two hotdogs for $2.69 isn't bad (maybe not the healthiest, but they are tasty)!

Unlike other QTs on I-85 in SC, which are located right off the exit, you have to drive a bit inward to reach this location. Not a big deal. This QT adheres to the same great standards as the other QTs to hit the Carolinas market in the 2010s. It's big and clean with good customer service. And of course, it has great SC gas prices. I filled up on premium here for $2.749/gallon compared to the previous day in Georgia at $2.989/gallon, a 24 cents/gallon or 8% savings. This QT has 16 pumps and offers diesel and no ethanol (E087) fuel too. So I have high standards for C-stores. I was so pleased to walk into the massive store, feathering a huge slushee, smoothie, fountain drink and coffee area [PS they have both foam and plastic cups, and cube and crunch ice. So. Many. Options!!]. Along with a great selection of tornadoes (delicious!) and grab and go food. With PLENTY of condiments if you needed them. The staff was efficient and very friendly. Lighting is something I pay attention to as a solo female, especially at night. This store was very well lit and bright. Definitely my go-to station since recently moving to the area! Props to their manager(s) and owner(s) for creating this environment! Happy customer that will be returning!
