Wow I'm not sure that my spicy chicken sandwich could even be considered chicken anymore. I literally just had to force down a cold piece of chicken that had the texture of something that may have been sitting since this morning, it's 5pm. Cheeseburger quesadilla was Luke warm, okay things happen. But then I go to eat the chicken sandwich and it's just baffling that someone would serve this to a customer and still sleep at night. This is a drive through or pick up location only. No indoor seating area is available. They have two lanes for the drive through but there were no cars waiting and we were able to pull right up, probably because we were a late (2PM) lunch. But the order taker was in a very rushed hurry. The conversations was something like this: Me- I would like the Tray with/ Her - (interrupting) what would you like with that? Me- The Big Double with/ Her- (interrupting) do you want cheese on the burger. Me- Yes, and lettuce, tomato, onion, mustard and... Her- (interrupting) what sides do you want? I'm thinking like Sheesh, let me just order the tray! Me - And a large UNSWEET tea please. Her- Did you say sweet or unsweet? Me- UNSWEET. A large UNSWEETENED tea. Her - Drive around. And wouldn't you know it, I got a large SWEET tea. Ha! I am not sure what was the big rush. Thankfully, I checked before leaving the window and they gave me an unsweetened tea. The order receipt said "sweet tea," if you can believe it. Anyway, the burger was very good, char grilled flavor. The fries have to be double fried to get the outside crunch and the fluffy center. Usually I get half fries and a corn dog and they usually give a generous portion of fries. But not this time. I left this experience thinking to myself, "what was all that about?" Worst experience! I just paid almost $15 for a plain cheeseburger, medium fry, coke and a shake. I get home to find half a patty covered in dried crunchy cheese disgusting! Ice cold fries that are limp in the bottom of the bag. Could not bring myself to even take a bite it looks so nasty. What the hell? This cookout sucks if I could give negative stars I would. So I never even thought about coming to this place after all the bad reviews. However, I saw some guy posting his experience on FB and talked about their 46 shake flavors and how good they were so I thought I would give it a try. The first time I ordered A Way out west burger, hush puppies and a banana pudding shake. The burger was pretty good although the bacon was gross (stringy and chewy. totally inedible). The hush puppies were okay and the shake was really good. I went back 2 days later and ordered the same thing except no bacon on the burger and a PB fudge shake oh and onion rings instead of hush puppies. Of course they put bacon on the burger. This time it was okay. I am pretty sure this is not the kind of place you can ask for something special on your burger. They literally gave me THREE onion rings. The cook out sauce was DELISH. The shake was ok. Most of the PB was stuck to the bottom of the cup. They gave me my meal in a styrofoam container and NO bag. Went back one last time and it was just awful. The meat on the burger tasted OLD. The onion rings we okay and the shake was pitiful. The worst part was again NO BAG and NO NAPKINS. Maybe someone forgot to order basic supplies? But not putting your food in a bad and providing napkins, etc. is pretty basic stuff. I realized what all the poor reviews are about. This place has the means to be really good. It's a shame too because we don't have a ton of choices out here. read more

I live about 3 minutes away from this cookout location but I will be driving to the Woodruff Road location from now on. The service is absolutely horrible and they are giving far less quantity than any other CookOut I've ever visited. I ordered some white cheddar bites that are nearly $3 and I received barely a quarter of the bag full of them. I strongly recommend driving the extra distance to actually get good quality customer service and better quality food. read more

The good. The chocolate peanut butter milk shake was delicious. Would return for that alone. The bad.. The big double or whatever it is called had two small oblong patties. The two patties make one of similar restaurants i.e. McDonald's. I was asking, where is the beef. No comparison to red robin. The "red" is very greasy. Skim some of it off before serving to customers please. Onion rings were cold. Single person trying to run front of restaurant by himself. He was polite. But busy. read more

The service was horrible, i waited in line for 20-30 minutes to get my food and the fries were cold, the burger was cold, and wrap was cold. There's no reason my food should be as cold as my drink. I will never come back here again. Just horrible, needs workers who actually care about how they serve people and not workers who just throw food in the box. I regret spending my money with cookout.
