This is a no frills, 4 pump gas station with a food mart. Tight turns are not forgiving if you overshoot the pumps and there is not much room to wait if you come in from the lake chabot road. Even with that, this is usually my go to gas station in CV. I am giving this place four stars because: 1) always great prices 2) usually have printer tape so I don't have to go in to get a receipt 3) they have some good deals in the food mart. But knowing the joker that he is, he didn't inform me about a few things. Like the old man passed out in a wheelchair with a couple of 40s. This is a tiny gas station sandwiched between a couple streets and a smog check car repair business. It's a pretty tight fit driving into the pumps, but if you're careful it's not a problem. It can be pretty busy, so you might have to wait a few minutes in line. The good news is that it's the cheapest place around. They even offer the cheap price for credit cards or for cash. I usually come here just for the Redbox, but will sometimes get gas when I have cash on-hand. They consistently have the cheapest gas in the Castro Valley area; however, they charge a debit fee. Thus, if paying with debit, you may ultimately end up paying the equivalent of "brand name" gasoline. Also, they charge a debit convenience fee for all store transactions under $10. Had to give this gas station 3 stars since the price of gas was $3.19 yesterday after noon...cheapest I've seen around for a while, but this place is wack for gasing up. Access to the 4 mesly pumps is terrible. Three cars in line for the pump and it renders someone's bumper sticking out on to Lake Chabot Road. Then folks come at the pump from the opposite direction...crazy lil spot, but cheaper then most other stations. This is our local convenience store. Gas prices are decent, navigation to the pump can be troublesome, and pumps are often less than fully functional. Store inside is nice, plenty of whatever we've ever needed as an impulse purchase to satisfy a craving or something we forgot to get at the grocery store. Gas pump sensor failed. Was filling very slowly. I noticed that it was running down the side of my car. My car is 15 gallon tank, it "filled" over 20.8 gallons, most of which went onto my car and the ground (as well as myself as I ran to shut it off). Spoke to clerk who called the owner Manpreet, supposed owner, (510) 861-6195, told him to give me $1 ! Once he told me to speak to his boss I got her number (listed above). She refused to refund the amount over which had spilled when the sensor failed. She "gave me permission" to call the cops. I sent her the photos along with a video as she requested before hanging up on me. She then blocked my number. I have contacted the Bureau of weights and measures. Researched: There are mainly two reasons a dispenser may pump slow. 1. Most common reason is that the fuel filter is getting clogged and needs to be replaced. ... The leak detection system is sensing a line leak somewhere and triggers a semi shut down of the fuel pump inside the tank. read more

Man... don't bother to go in. I walked in to buy a bag of chips for my pregnant wife and I got the death stare for the 3 gentlemen sitting on the counter. Shoot sorry was I interrupting your chat time? Anyhow so then the cashier reluctantly stops his conversation and rings me up, I pay with my credit card and he keeps mumbling something but I had to ask numerous times for him to repeat, shoot I'm still not sure what he was saying. He finally gets out "enter CVC code", I'm like what I'm not giving you my CVC at a convenient store?! So I just go ahead and give him cash and the guy throws my change at me, literally!! Ruddddde, then starts chewing me out in his native language and now one of his friends has walked over and trying to get in my face! I was not quiet sure what the hell was going on, but I started to lose my cool by this point to say the least but I wasn't about to start throwing down with the three dudes when I wasn't really sure what the hell I did wrong in the first place!! I've lived in or around Castro Valley for at least 30 years. 5 years ago I was lucky enough to move into a house right by Lake Chabot. I am a smoker and a sodaholic I love my cola. I also don't drink alcohol. I only add that so no one gets the wrong Idea about the situation. I went to Quick Stop late on April 2 evening. I was out of smokes and wanted a pineapple soda. First I am greeted at the door by a man with his back to me literally blocking both doors and moving back and forth to do this. I tried to get in with out hitting him with the door but was unable to. Of course I apologized right away but apparently an apology is no good coming from me as this is not the first time I have had dealings with this man in the past. The first time he was cursing an elderly gentleman for not moving fast enough. I told him quite calmly that there was no need for that kind of hostility. Keep in mind this gentleman isn't even working and if he is he was not wearing a name tag on both occasions. All I wanted was a pack of cigs and a soda and this gentleman verbally attacked me and also threatened violence against me and I can't even tell the Mngr cause no name tag. The clerk on duty let all of this happen as anyone can tell they are friends. He wears a name tag but it has been many diff names Derjit, Happy, Manvere, the current tag being Manvere. Manvere is no prize himself as he is habitually rude, Is always on the phone and quite honestly he smells so bad that I wipe down any merchandise he touches before consumption. this is not a slam against the man this is all purely factual. In closing I ask you this. Is cheap gas really worth dealing with these kind of problems at a Quick Stop? Do you want to spend your hard earned money at a place where they don't even respect you? It's not just me that receives the lack of respect it is everyone unless the very Nice Lady who seems to own or operate it is around you get treated like crap.
