I visited on a Thursday afternoon around 1:00 and they were pretty dead there was no one in the store. I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was made to order I visually saw them drop the chicken into the oil, so it was a little bit of a wait but I knew my food would be hot and fresh. The sandwich was a lot bigger than I expected and they used a different bun than I'm used to. The breading was delicious it was not too thick, it was crunchy, and the chicken was juicy it is breast meat but it was juicy. I chose spicy I think the sauce that they use is what makes the spice not the actual chicken itself I could be wrong but the chicken itself didn't taste that spicy to me. The bun that they use is good quality bun but I did find that it was a little bit too dry I would have preferred the regular soft bun that you normally get at other fried chicken chains. Overall it was delicious the chicken was delicious and it was extremely filling halfway through the sandwich I was starting to feel full, I couldn't imagine if I got a combo and had to eat sides on top of the sandwich. I just walked out after eating the chicken and it was average. The skin is very crispy but the chicken doesn't taste like much and has very little seasoning if any. I came here because there were rave reviews about this place and the only thing I can guess is that these are all people who are either friends and family or have not had any of its competitors' chicken. A decent Canadian chicken chain in the sea of more popular chicken chains like Popeyes, KFC and other fellow Canadian chain; Mary Browns. Price: Prices was average with other fellow chicken chains. Going to Quik Chik is more of a convenience than a conscious decision to go than to go to other chicken chains. So you're not "saving money" by going here rather then choosing a competitor. However, I recommend looking online for coupons to see if you can save a few bucks. Service: Service was ok. The servers were very transactional in my interaction and didn't show much emotion. The speed of the chicken was okay but the side dishes were at room temperature. Food: Food was great. The chicken wasn't too salty and was tender and crispy. The side dishes were ok, would've been better if they were served a little hotter. Overall, Quik Chik is a mixture of Popeyes with their seafood and multitude of side dishes and Mary Browns in terms of their chicken and chicken sandwiches. Atmosphere: Wasn't anything special. My son was craving fried chicken so we decided to go to Quik Chik, we ordered chicken and butterfly chicken with fries on the side. There was hardly any table clean to begin with, anyways found one and waited for our order. They took really long, and after like half hour wait, we asked then if our order was ready, they said yes chicken is ready, fries will be ready in a bit, like really, we had to start eating chicken without the fries, the shrimps were not tasty at all, no flavor, anyways, it doesn't end there, they are soo stingy with the ketch up and other sauces, . Yum! Who doesn't like fried chicken! I came here with my friend on a Thursday night. It was not busy at all! For their Thursday special - it was 3 pieces for 4.95, add another 1.25 for a drink OR side. They make the OR very clearly ha! My friend and I ordered the Thursday special with one side order of fries and we also ordered the five wing combo - which comes with a fries and drink, this was around 6.75. As the Thursday special features the pieces of chicken - we didn't have to wait much. But for the wings... I felt like it was an upward of 15mins. BUT IT WAS WORTH IT! The wings were so fresh, tasty and juicy, I loved it! I would strongly recommend the wings if you are in no rush :) Other than that, it's a typical fried chicken place - maybe a bit more cooked to perfection (unlike many places that over cook!) - the fries where also pretty good - Cajun dusted! Yikes- safe to say my family and I will most definitely not be returning. We ordered butterfly shrimp and 8 piece chicken which comes with fries. Our order was taken at 9:50pm and we were told that the chicken would take 12 minutes. At around 10:15pm we asked how much longer it would take. The staff said "soon". Finally, by 10:20pm our chicken was ready. The fries and shrimp were still not ready. We told them that we waited so long so we will start with the chicken while the rest of the food was being prepared. Another 5 mins later, the rest of our order was ready. We waited almost 30 mins for all our food!! And the place wasn't even busy.. We did not get an apology or"thanks for waiting". She asked what sauce I wanted. I asked for spicy mayo. I also asked for ranch. She took the mayo away and gave me the small ranch salad dressing pack. I asked her if I could have both..and said said the ranch was extra 0.30cents. Really? After waiting 30 minutes, she could have given us complimentary sauce. Its not about the money, but customer service. Her attitude was horrible. We gave her the money but definitely won't be going back. Not to mention that the tables were all dirty. We cleaned our own table. They need a few classes in how to maintain customers. Very surprised on how amazing all the food tasted. This time around we came hungry...got spicy chi burger combo's with cajun fries and poutine. They had the thick cavendish(battered) fries-cajun flavoured. Really tasty and soooo crispy. The poutine followed suit... If you are in heartland...go to Quik Chik! Ordered through UberEats. Delivery was fine, order was fine, didn't experience any problems. I'd say Quik Chik fits between KFC and Popeyes. Popeyes is my favourite because they season the chicken and KFC's chicken is very crispy but the chicken doesn't really taste like anything. Quik Chik's chicken is really crispy and the meat seems to be slightly seasoned, but not by much. I love fried chicken and this restaurant did not disappoint. I went there together with a colleague and we both ordered the 2 piece dinners (leg and thigh). The chicken was fresh, crunchy and moist. It had good flavour and was well seasoned. The biscuit and fries were also great. I would have rated it 5 stars if they had provided a dipping sauce for the chicken. We were told that we have to pay extra for sauces. If you love fried chicken, I would definitely recommend trying Quik Chik. read more
