As someone who doesn't know a lot about cars, I have always appreciated the convenience and trusted the employees to take care of my vehicle. Unfortunately, my most recent experience has caused me to lose that trust. During my last oil change, there were several attendants working and everyone was friendly and talkative. I was actually happy to see that a woman would be servicing my car, since you don't often see women working in these positions. At one point during the service, I heard something drop, but I didn't think anything of it and drove away believing everything was fine. The very next day, multiple warning lights came on in my car, including the check-engine light. I immediately called Valvoline and was told to bring the car back. I did, waited my turn, and a male attendant inspected the car and ran the diagnostic code. He told me that everything they had serviced appeared to be fine and that I would need to take the car to a mechanic. So I did and had to pay a diagnostic fee, only to find out that a cap had been cracked. The mechanic showed me the damaged cap, and I was honestly in disbelief. What disappoints me most is that if something was accidentally damaged during my oil change, I simply wish someone had told me. Accidents happen. I would have understood that. What is upsetting is that the damaged cap appears to have been put back on without anything being said, leaving me to discover the problem only after warning lights came on and I had spent additional money at a mechanic trying to figure out what was wrong. After being a customer here for years, I'm genuinely disappointed that this experience has left me feeling like I need to find another place for my oil changes.
