I loved how knowledgeable the technician was just by listening to the car, they provided me with the printouts with the results and made some recommendations. More recently, I took my car for an alignment, unfortunately my car needed urgent TLC they showed me what it was needed and were honest and recommended me some services ( the same dealership's recommendations) the only difference: the price !! I am deducting 2 starts for this place due to the following reason: I found a Groupon online for a brake pad replacement here and came to have my front brake replace. Gary, the man in charge of that place, said I need to get the rotor resurface and he's charging $160 for the front set. Note that this is on top of the $70 brake pad from Groupon that I have paid. When I came to pick up my car, the total some how is $193. I paid it, but I think the quote pricing vs actual paid price is not upfront. All other staffs were very nice, they even offer water. But I probably will not be back here because of not so upfront pricing. read more

They advertise an oil change for a price of $25 on Groupon, included 4 quarts only of oil and a filter, which I think even my lawnmower engine uses more than that, but if I use my own synthetic oil and filter which I get free through my business, they tried to tack on $40 more even though they save the money of not having to use their oil or filter. This is not stated in the Groupon ad. They had the nerve to tell me the Groupon advertised price was for the oil and filter only, no labor which was extra, then when I returned and pressed them for clarification on their claim it excluded labor which the Groupon ad said nothing of the sort, knowing how bad that looked, they then changed their claim to they "think" it includes the labor, but there is still an additional charge of $40 if they do not use their own oil and filter. Even the supervisor admitted their Groupon ad was a "gimmick" to quote this exact word. This is false and deceptive advertising. I thought they would have appreciated I was not going to ask them for 4 quarts of oil to use elsewhere. This reminds me of plumbers who claim they will clean any stopped up drain for under $100, often down to $39.50. They too always bait and switch. I get foot in the door tactics, and I understand loss leader items, but ethical businesses adhere to their loss leader pricing and do not bait, switch and fabricate non existent exclusions and terms. read more

Pricing for repair is very reasonable too. I walked across the street to Bob Big Boys to wait, Target and lots of shops around to go to while waiting. They claimed in the invoice that they replaced a part that was damaged and charged $300+ for a new part and labor. Sensors started going off after 2 days on/off. While taking it to a different shop, my car stalled and turned off. When the mechanics inspected my car and asked for the invoice, they noticed the part had not been replaced or changed. Now I have to pay $2500 to fix my car plus an additional $600. read more

I drove nearly 40 minutes in traffic and arrived exactly on time for my confirmed appointment, only to be told instantly that I would not be seen because a walk-in customer--who happened to be spending more money--would be taken first. Your staff openly stated that the other customer was spending around $800 while my Groupon appointment was "only about $40," and therefore I was effectively pushed aside and told to come back another day. Any business with even a basic understanding of operations would have completed the quick job first, kept both customers, and protected both profits. Manager - Technician "Jose" literally said to me "It does not matter what you say." Brought my car in for an oil change and my car requires a particular type of oil, when I called, the guy who answered the phone (Jerry) said yes they have that type of oil. The day that I came in, Jose the technician said I'm not putting that type of oil in your car & and then cut me off and wouldn't listen to anything I explained to him about the car. I asked for an appointment and was told they only take them "in the morning." Fine. Then that suddenly changed to only "8am" because, according to the guy on the phone, they "don't do afternoons." When I pointed out that there are other morning times besides 8am, the manager actually told me I should be grateful if he makes time for me. He went on about how he might have "thousand dollar jobs" later in the afternoon, so he can't make time for me unless it's at 8am. Yes, according to this guy, anything later than 8am is already the afternoon. When I pushed a little and asked if there was any other time in the morning, he finally admitted that 10am was possible, but only if no higher-paying customer shows up. If someone else walks in needing a more expensive repair, I would have to leave and come back another time. I asked him what the point of making an appointment is if they don't actually honor it, and he literally said, "Yo, just take it somewhere else, bro." This was one of the most unprofessional conversations I've ever had with a repair shop. The attitude, the disrespect, and the complete lack of basic courtesy were unbelievable. I genuinely hope the owner listens to whatever call recordings they have, because the person answering their phone is driving customers away. These guys don't deserve anyone's business. read more

There was a little bit of a wait yet i was thoroughly taken care of beyond expectations

Saturday I was one of three cars that showed up at 8 am when Alpha State opened for business. I was met by Jerry, he ushered me and the other cars to move to the parking area behind the block wall. They had to move their mobile equipment blocking their three service bays and to set up the exterior waiting area in front of the block wall. A few minutes later, I was motioned to move the car to the end bay. So, last year I was ready to do the AC preventative maintenance but I said that my AC was working great and cold on the drive to their location in the valley. Jerry saved me from spending moolah on a Groupon of his. Kudos to him for being an honest business owner. This time around I wanted the AC inspected. Jerry told me his same philosophy as last year... If it ain't broke why fix it. The initial diagnosis came back good, the temp was running about 48°. The tech (Jose?) also checked my cabin air filter. He took it out and motioned it needed to be cleaned as it's a K&N washable filter. I told him I have the cleaner and will wash it at home. It seemed as if he wanted to complete the service and get my car out of there. I'm giving you guys 4 stars (B) for being in too much of a hurry. I was expecting a thorough AC service with the machine to evacuate freon and a pressure test but I did not even get an invoice describing the work that was done and what they found. I very much appreciate 100% transparency and thoroughness from any service business. I like things on a computer generated print out. I don't think this is their way. I was given a clip board when I arrived, filled out my info but that's as far as that went. I showed my Groupon voucher and the phone screen was swiped right away to mark it as redeemed. I hope Jerry will take this review as a critique to improve his service. I truly believe going the extra mile with his business practices will elevate him to 5 stars. I will definitely return for their Groupon deal on car's preventative AC maintenance needs though. I support small businesses. read more
