Endless go round with the phone system. Trying to get info on a quantitative HCG test but can't get through to an actual person.

This is ridiculous. Walk in appointment of a pregnant woman waiting over 2 hours. 2 hours. I have never seen another quest location like that. Don't go there. read more

*** Better than expected... (Westminster) *** Let's just say the only reason I selected this Quest Diagnostics location is because it was open on Saturday and my father needed some blood drawn by the following Monday for surgery. I had no choice but to choose Saturday as I realize continually taking time-off of work for doctor's appointment for mom, dad, and the kids will eventually mean bad news at work. I did try another location, but it was super packed with a 2 hr wait. At least here, the wait was only a 1 hr. Upon arrival I signed-in and waited for my father's name to be called. It took about 1 hr to get to our turn as a walk-in. The full capacity room was emptied out rather quickly. I did find it amusing that this nice Vietnamese gentleman calling out the patient's names butchered a white name. All those years of hearing the butchered names like "Phuc Yu" or " Phuc Dat Bich" just made me chuckle when a Caucasian name was mispronounced... ha ha ha... Here's what concerned me... I was taking my dad to a facility in the heart of little Saigon. Let's play a little game of word association... * Made in China = ? (Equals what) = inferior quality stuff. * Hyundai (1980's) = ? (Equals what) = inferior quality. * Harvard = excellence. * College in infomercial = hmm... * Affluent area = ? (Equals what) = generally good service & care. * Poor area = ? (Equals what) = don't be surprised to if you get bad service & poor quality of care. You kind of get what I'm getting at? There was once a time when you could say Vietnamese and the association would be successful, honest, hard-working, etc... These days I honesty cannot say those connotations necessarily apply anymore. That may sound like a brutal criticism, but sometimes the truth is brutal and it hurts! Obviously this is a generalization, but it is grounded in many decades of real experiences with many family members. Here's what liked... * I was very pleasantly surprised the parking was very easy and painless. Maybe this was because it was early on a Saturday. * The folks at the front desk were friendly and professional. As usual, I love actions like acknowledging the patient upon arrival. A smile and "hello" is a plus. A "Thank you" and "please be seated" is great standard instruction. * The phlebotomist who extracted the blood was skilled, friendly, and professional. * The staff consisted of every color of the rainbow. So that was pretty cool to see in a very ethnic part of town. Here's what I didn't like... * Nothing really comes to mind. I had my reservations about going to this facility based on a belief established through years of experiences, but I was proven WRONG. I LOVE it when my preconceived notions are challenged and shot down! With every good experience l have (like this one), a bad experience I've encountered in the past will be put to rest. So bravo to the staff at this lab for doing a good job, everything from moving a very large crowd, to the actual blood extraction :-) (Point of reference: Garden Grove Quest is like an armpit. Lab at St. Joseph is in the "nicer" part of town, but equally an armpit. Quest on La Veta in Orange is in "nicer" part of town, is way crowded with no standing room inside waiting area and is a madhouse.) **************************** Quality of service = Very good. This is determined by the ability to extract blood easily without having to dig around a lot. Do note that the patient plays a critical role in keeping hydrated so the phlebotomist can have plump veins to work with. Seating area = clean with plenty of seats. Service = friendly. They're a above average compared to other facilities (even in the "nicer" areas). read more

Oh my word. This place is so busy! I came as a walk in on Sat AM to do some labs. I checked their hours online and it said 7am. I got here around 7:10am thinking I knew it was busy and could wait for an hour or so... But boy it was BUSY! The waiting room with 30some chairs was packed. There were also people standing by the door with their arms crossed looking very scary and frustrated. But it was only 10 minutes after opening? How long could they possibly have been waiting? The walk-in list was also super long with already 20 people before me. The appt list looked like it was two pages and the lady calling names was halfway down the first page. All of the employees looked like they were hustling hard, fingers flying over keyboards and scanners. As a person in healthcare, I definitely feel for them. When I checked in, I asked some questions about the lab slip I was given and the girl working there was very friendly and nice. Turns out, I was given wrong information and this location did not do the type of test I was looking for. Thank goodness she told me or else I would be stuck on a waiting room of angry people for over an hour for no reason! She was very courteous and explained to me how to make an appt and figure out which locations do what testing. Halleluja! Guess I'm going to go get a breakfast burrito instead! read more

Went to the facility in Huntington Beach next to HB Hospital. The man at the front was rude and only concerned whether my dog was a service dog or not. He asked me for my medical cards and I gave him my Cigna supplement and continued to look for my Medicare card. He became impatient and kept asking me for my Medicare card. I told him to hold on and he was very nasty. He took copies of my cards and then literally threw the cards back at me. Is this the type of customer service Quest believes will bring them more business ??? read more

Yesterday i went there for blood test. The lady was so rude and meant. She would turn people away. There is no compassion for people working in such a sensitive field. i wont come back read more

Definitely set up an appointment online unless you want to wait for walk in. It's random with the amount of patients they have, so secure your spot! The staff inside that does blood work is always kinda to my grandmother. However, we always see the same rude & impatient receptionist at the front. She's some asian lady with glasses and a loud voice. Maybe if she was more polite, it would make people's experience better. The previous time we came, someone had trouble signing in through the iPad. She did not help him and just told him to figure it out. Not everyone has experience with technology. It was empty too so I did not understand why it would have been such a bother for her to help out. For today's visit, she asked for the doctor's order. We did not receive any paperwork, but have been coming here for blood work. She quickly snapped saying she meant insurance & ID. Well if you want something from a patient, you should specify what is needed. I was irritated with that. read more

First time here and I've been to a lot of quest labs with longgggg wait time. Initially it was a 2 hr wait time here with the room filled, but the phlebotomists who worked the front desk as well worked her butt off made it from a 2 hr wait time to less than 30 min.. so thankful for her read more

I've been coming to you for over a year with standing orders, I can NEVER get an appointment for when I need it no matter how far in advance I try. NOW my Oncologist is trying to fax you STAT orders and cannot get through your phone system to get a live person to get a FAX NUMBER so they can send the orders to you. I've tried myself and cannot get through to a live person either. Your website and YELP do not show a fax number either read more

Like the other poster said, it was hard to find. It's on the backside of the big "Medical Center" building. The facility was very clean and everyone was very friendly. I had an appointment but had to wait about 15 minutes. I am usually in a lot of pain when people take my blood, but this phlebotomist really knew what he was doing. It was the least pain I've ever experienced and so quick! I will definitely come back here for all future testing needs. read more

I guess I don't learn my lesson. They really need extra help. This is ridiculous! They're very slovery busy. I've been waiting an hour and a half and the attendant said it's going to be another hour. I have no interest spending another minute if my tune. I recommend hiring more help! read more

I took my mom for blood test on 10/29/2019 at 10am. She doesn't have appointment because her family doctor just requested yesterday. After check in computer, the receptionist asked me and my mom sit down to wait. Waiting until 11:30 am , over 1 and half hour, I came to ask... Receptionist said she didn't see my mom name on the list??? She asked I entered her name again... No excuse... They seemed to blame my fault... No polite . I am not happy about this lab. Never return and not recommend to my friends and my family. read more

Asked us to wait forever since 10 am and it's 12:30 pm now. They said there was one person in front of me, but now there's 6?!!!

Omg!! Never again on a holiday weekend will I try and get blood work done... almost a 3 hour wait... on the good side.. I'm a very tough person to get blood from and not only being nice and personable, Lisa was able to get the needed blood on the first stab.. That never happens.. Thank you very much Lisa! read more

This place sucks for a walk in. I was told twice that there was 5 people ahead of me and waited over 2 hours. And I'm not even exaggerating. To top it off I was fasting. Do not come here. read more

This place was super crowded on the Saturday that I came in. At my old lab, walk-ins were taken care of really quick and people were able to get in and out fast. I assumed it would be the same here; that was a big mistake. It took them 1.5 hours just to get a simple blood test for me done. I honestly do not recommend coming in on Saturday. Another issue that I found to be quite lacking at this branch is the patient service. The receptionists do not give the patients the time of day. They do not even look up to greet people when the patients walk up to the desk. They talk to the patients while looking down at their desk and paperwork. I find this to be rude and disrespectful. They also don't reply to questions and just tend to give all the patients a general answer and ask the patients to take a seat until called again. They dismiss the patients without giving them a satisfied response. At first I thought it was only because they were busy when I had an issue, but then I realized that they acted this way to everyone. Patient service? Horrible. The one pro I found at this place was the blood sampling. My technician, although unfriendly at the reception desk, was really good at taking blood. She tested my blood veins with her fingers throughly first so as to ensure the least amount of pain later on for me. She made the procedure quick and efficient with minimal pain. I regret not getting her name, but her procedure and approach was great. These two stars, I give to her. read more

Omg so busy. Ungodly busy on a Saturday. I counted 38 people in the lobby and there were more outside. I have an appointment and so far I've still been waiting. Don't come here on a Saturday unless you have all day to wait. read more

Great place to go. everyone is so nice. They ones that stand out are Jade and Tracey. They treat you good and nothing ever hurts. I make an appointment every time. They always take you on time and make you feel nice and relaxed. I would never go any place else to give blood. read more

Place is clean. I walked in without an appointment. They got to me pretty fast, I only waited about 10 minutes. I'll be honest, I freak out whenever I get my blood drawn and I usually get a bruise where they poked me. Well not this time, Jade drew my blood and could tell I was nervous. She was really nice and I didn't feel a thing! Also, I didn't bruise. :)) I will go here from now on and ask for Jade. read more

I been on Anaheim location and Huntington Beach, the best costumer service that I got it was on Huntington Beach. The costumer service and the one she collected my blood they both were amazing But in westerners, oh my god, they act like they're a boss they both treated me like a slave specially the one she collected my blood, she was the worst person ever. I got out very sad and my day went bad on that day I will never forget that! They have to getting orientation before starting that kind of jobs. Thanks! read more

My advice - make an online appointment because it makes all the difference in the world. At my doctor's last minute Friday night request, I needed lab work done ASAP on Saturday. I found this facility late Friday night, and I made an online appointment for the following day at 8:15AM. I arrived on Saturday to find people standing outside and the waiting room filled to capacity. I checked in at the kiosk and proceeded to wait my turn. Almost immediately, I was called to the reception desk for my insurance info and was told I'd be called in just a few minutes. Sure enough, I was called, my lab work completed, and I was back in my car all within 8 minutes. I could hardly believe how quick and efficient my appointment went, so, again I say - make a prior appointment and avoid the long wait. read more

the receptionist has terrible attention and terrible character. she does not explain and does not know or knows about the word cordiality.

I'm just going to go with pros and cons here...there has to be SOME pros right? Pros - Lots of parking - Fairly easy to find as its right next to a medical plaza (and the women working the front desk at the medical plaza were very nice in directing me to Quest - they must get that question ALOT). - I made an appt online for 9:30 and when I walked in at 9:30 and signed in they took care of me immediately. CONS - When I checked in, the woman working the front desk barely looked up at me and pointed at the clipboard. No one said hello. - I brought in my orders that I got from my doctor and the phlebotomist who took the orders looked at them like she didn't know what they meant. It took her almost 15 minutes to type in the information from the form for basic blood work and twice she turned to me to ask for information that was already on the form (ex. the phone number for the office which was stamped right on top of the form). The longer I sat there the more nervous I got too because shockingly enough, I don't enjoy blood work. - If you don't speak vietnamese, chose a different quest location. I should have known when I made the appt, but didn't think about it at the time. All the women who worked there spoke English with an accent, but for a good majority of the time the spoke vietnamese to each other. I HATE when people speak other languages when working with customers/patients. As a courtesy you should SPEAK ENGLISH so that your nervous patient knows whats going on! - The first phlebotomist who tried to get my blood almost made me lose my nerve. She tried for about 30 seconds to feel for a vein on my left and right arm before declaring that she couldn't and had to use my hand. For those of you who haven't had the pleasure, a needle in the back of the hand HURTS. I asked her to try again politely on my left arm and pointed her to where they had been taking blood from me my entire life and she again said she couldn't find it. She tried on my right arm (where there is now a bruise) and THEN she gave me a somewhat disgusted look and said to wait while she went to get HELP. The woman from the next room came in and also went through the same farce (trying in my left arm) and finally just poked me IN MY FREAKING WRIST. I was not happy. OVERALL - Go somewhere else - especially if you get nervous about blood work. I was THIS close to just walking out the door and picking another place. - There are some phlebotomists who are good and some who are not. That is all I will say. read more

The receptionist with black, short hair (about shoulder length) is extremely rude and incompetent. When i walked in, she told me to sign in and wait in the car. They ended up having a technological problem and my sign in was not registered. I waited for an hour outside before coming back to check how much longer I had to wait. Once I entered, this lady had the audacity to yell at me from across the room and told me she never saw my face before. She raised her voice at me when I tried to explain, then ignored me completely. Another kind staff member stepped in to help and the rude receptionist even tried to stop her! She insisted that I needed to wait all over again because it was my fault. That lady did not give me her name. I noticed she treated other patients just as horribly. Having worked in healthcare, I understand issues can happen and I didn't even mind the wait time. However, it is unacceptable for an employee to treat patients in such an awful and dismissive manner. I think that the place is great overall but rude front desk staff truly damages the clinic's image and quality. read more
