I had a very frustrating experience at this clinic when I took my daughter for lab work ordered by her doctor. She was required to fast before the appointment, so we came early in the morning before school. We waited almost 3 hours in the waiting room. When I finally asked what was happening, the staff told me they had skipped my daughter because they did not know how to pronounce her name. No one had called us or tried to ask. Another major issue was communication. The receptionist did not speak English, and no one in the clinic seemed able to communicate with us in English. This made it very difficult to ask questions or understand what was happening. After the labs were finally done, I asked for a simple doctor's note for my daughter's school since she missed the morning due to fasting and the appointment. The receptionist said she did not know what that was and could not provide one. Overall, the long wait, lack of communication, and inability to provide basic documentation made this a very stressful experience for both me and my daughter. I wish I can give it 0 stars . I did not receive services here but I wanted to mention that the front desk was so helpful. They told me that my insurance is out of network with CMB which my doctor should have verified before sending my lab order here. I am thankful that they did their due diligence and were still very willing to help me get the correct order. First come, first serve. Extremely inefficient, and not enough staffing. You have two phlebotomists trying to service 30+ people. So what if you have a family member that needs to do fasting labs and is diabetic? And they have to wait 2+ hours and have repeatedly mentioned that they are diabetic, have not eaten, and need fasting labs? The front staff is uncaring of the situation. Both my parents have been asked by their PCPs to obtain labs with CMB (vs LabCorp or Quest) and my experiences in the last several years helping my parents complete this tedious task have been meh, don't expect more than a slightly sub par experience (like 2.5-3 stars), which is not worth my time to write a review. However, my most recent experience with some of that staff at the Bolsa location was an example of a work culture that tolerates ignorance and mediocrity. Why? It was acceptable for a staff to refuse my simple request to rerun my mother's insurance with her name exactly as printed on her insurance card, which included a hyphen. As they did not enter her name correctly in their system, she was given a print out that said her insurance was inactive. I explained to the staff that this has happened in the past, that if the hyphen was omitted, it will not provide the correct information. Instead of taking a few minutes of her time to do her job, she dismiss any possibility that she was wrong and refused to rerun my mother's insurance. I considered she may have difficulty admitting she was wrong, so to save face, I mentioned that this has happened at different facilities in the past and it was common mistake. I considered she was just ignorant, so I asked her to speak to the Anthem insurance representative that I had on hold as she could verify my mother's insurance directly. I considered she was just lazy, as she asked to have the insurance company fax over the required paperwork because she has to go to lunch. How is it acceptable that you are asking me to do your job? So while she was on her lunch, I was sitting in the dank lobby on a beautiful sunny afternoon, still on the phone with the same insurance rep., waiting for a fax to come through. When she came back from lunch, instead of taking any accountability, she said that they are just a lab facility and don't deal with insurance companies. Unbelievable. I was able to advocate for my mother that day and she was able to get her labs completed because I know how to navigate the health care system. But imagine all the elderly patients that have been turned away from this place. Even worse, imagine all the poor services and fees that were rendered to those elderly patients who don't have an advocate. The lesson: don't let your parents go here for labs. And if you have no choice, be prepare to spend 3+ hours doing someone else's job when it should be a 60 minute visit. read more

The job was done but I still haven't gotten the results even after one week? I came here before opening time on a Saturday, hoping to be one of the first patients. Everyone else had the same idea as well. I didn't get my paperwork sorted until an hour post and I had a 3 hour stay here! I didn't get to leave till last 10am... and I came at 6:45am!!! They completely forget about their patients, so I had to remind them that I have certain times that I needed to get my blood draw for my glucose test. Thank goodness they didn't make a fuss. Good thing: I didn't get bruises from being poked 4 times with needles so the techs did a good job. Bad thing: Avoid this place like the plague on a Saturday morning or be prepared for a looooonnggg wait in a stuffy waiting room that spills out into the hallway and out the door. Under staffed! I went to this place for more than 10 years and followed them to their new location because I have very small veins which makes it very difficult for most people to properly draw blood without hurting me, missing my vein, along with doing multiple attempts. I went today for a blood test and request Oanh as usual to draw my blood because she is really well at drawing my blood from my very small veins. However, Oanh refused to draw my blood because she told me that she is busy doing paperwork today. I was about to leave, but Oanh told me that if I wait for her then she will draw my blood and I did wait for her. Unfortunately, someone else called my name but I refused to have my blood drawn by someone else and the other person who called my name told me that Oanh will not draw my blood. Then Oanh refused to draw my blood again and she ghosted me twice in front of everybody making me feel awful for requesting her. Afterwards, Oanh told me that everyone at this location is good, but I specifically wanted Oanh because she been drawing my blood for years and everyone draws blood differently. I wanted to leave, but someone else who works at this location already took my paperwork and I felt bad for refusing them to do my blood work. I know everybody has to learn how to draw blood properly by experience, but I am afraid of getting hurt because most people are unable to draw blood properly at the first time. The person who took my paperwork is named Kim and she did an excellent job at drawing my blood and I did not feel any pain at all. I highly recommend everyone to get their blood drawn by Kim because Kim is better at drawing blood compared to Oanh and Oanh is very unprofessional. read more

I have really small veins that are very hard to find during a blood draw. I came from my primary doctor where they have failed many times and today they tried 3 times before sending me out to the lab. I've been scarred from getting my blood drawn... today I met Oanh and she found it so effortlessly. It's very important that you have someone who is confident and does not second guess themselves. I needed to get blood work done before I see my doctor in two weeks and this was the closet CMB at the time. Two weeks later, my doctor called and said they haven't received my blood work. Then this location calls me today and said they needed more blood from me and asked when I wanted to come again. I spoke to them in English and they asked if I spoke Vietnamese....really unprofessional place. Told them I am not coming back to this location. Yay first review. I came here today to take my 3 hour glucose test. So cross fingers I pass this time!! *^.^* the workers are very nice here, especially the sweet lady working the front desk and the one who drew my blood. Usually Asian places you would have to deal with rude workers, but they made me feel really comfortable. If you're coming here to take your 3 hour glucose test I suggest you bring something to keep you occupied. You're going to have to get your blood drawn out 4 times every hour. Come early! The staff is excellent, very friendly and helpful. This patient service center can get busy so try to come during off peak hours (afternoon or Wednesdays). The phlebotomists are also extremely good and all have a lot of experience with tough draws. They also give discounts for patients and they're much cheaper than the other labs. Incomplete instructions for stool testing kit. If I hadn't read everything in the hall and immediately returned with questions I would have had to return. They agreed that instructions were incomplete and said they told me verbally. Didn't. Not until I returned. And then was unclear due to attendant's inability to speak clear English. This lab should be shut down. It is not sanitary for a pathology lab. The place is dirty and all the chairs are dirty. The place smells like urine when you walk in. When you get to the restroom for the urine test, it's so dirty and looks like no one cleans it for weeks. They didn't have toilet paper that day either. I was upset that my doctor sent me there. The phlebotomist can't take blood right. He left my husband and I two painful bruises on our arms. His station wasn't made for blood drawing. He didn't have a good space to put his tools so in the middle of drawing blood, he dropped an empty tube and tried catching it with his other hand while this one was holding the needle inside my husband's arm. Hence, he poked the vein deeper. Then he wondered why the blood stopped coming out so he moved the needle around the vein so blood can flow out normally again. I've been to 3 of their labs and all are below standards. If you're the owner and reading this, please correct these items: 1) remodel the place. 2) hire cleaners to clean your facility constantly. 3) stop leaving needles and tools in grocery bags and leaving them on the floors. The Health Care Agency should inspect these places. read more

I got there before 7AM, and there was already a long line of old folks waiting. One staff got there at 7:01 AM to open up and said she doesn't get paid more for opening up early. It's a total mess once inside. I was the 11 person on the sign-in sheet. By 7:15, the staff still working on the paperwork for first 3 people from the sign-in sheet, which mean no one has his/her blood drawn yet. I don't write review, but this is the worst business establishment. If Yelp would allow me to give this place a zero star, I would. I came here because my doctor's nurse recommend that this place open on the weekend near where I live. I came in at exactly 8am Saturday morning and there was a lot of people waitng. The receptionist told me it won't take long and she had me fill out some paperwork. About 9:30am 1 1/2 hour later, I ask them why is the wait so long when they told me it wasn't. They got the nerve to tell me they don't see my paperwork when they had me fill it out the first thing that I got there. What the hell am I doing there waiting for an hour and a half, if you don't see my paperwork. I wasted my time being there for nothing. Don't waste your time coming here because you'll wait for a long time when they said the wait won't be long. They'll also lied to you and say your turn will be next, so you'll wait some more. All about the money with these people here. No honesty or moral in their business practice. Also I should have read their Yelp review first before coming here.
