    Walled off reception area

Talk about a backwards business model!!! They completely wall off the receptionist area + claim. You need an appointment just to pick up testing materials. Our doctor's office told us to just stop by a quest location and they will give us the materials. However, upon arriving a quest I'm told to either make an appointment or go to the location a block away to see if it's empty. If I go to the location across, I lose my place in the waiting list line (to pick up testing supplies). My kid isn't even with me for them to test my kid. It's a take-home test. Who in their right mind thinks it's okay (or even customer friendly) to not have a receptionist to handle issues. This place is purely about maximizing profits and does not care about the patient experience. While they claim their people are friendly, they are very rude and matter of fact. They only want to get you out of here with minimal human interaction

    Zero Customer Service

Zero signage outside. No receptionist, no one answering the phone when you're lost and trying to arrive to your appointment on time. No elevator. Parking attendant didn't even know what Quest Diagnostics was. No validated parking.

Here you can see where the reception window used to be.

The concept of "customer service" does not exist with Quest Diagnostics. Everything is automated to the point that even the employees themselves aren't able to answer any questions. Same goes for the customer service reps you can reach by phone. At this particular location, they go out of their way to make sure you never have a chance to speak to anyone. When they take a customer in, they purposely shut the door as quickly as possible so that you can't get a word in. They have a reception window but it's covered up. In order to cut payroll costs, they've eliminated the front desk position. As if this company isn't making enough money, they had to eliminate any and all customer service employees to save the $20-30/hr. Remember that Quest gets paid $2,500+ for each appointment. There are 3-4 ppl here tops running these draws and it's a very small office space where I can't imagine the rent is that high. They are doing 9-10 appointment per hour minimum. That's $25,000 PER HOUR. I really hope there is a mistake within their scheduling system that results in some sort of catastrophic situation resulting in a major lawsuit. That way it will hit them in the bank balance and maybe they'll start focusing minimal effort on customer service. WORST BUSINESS IVE EVER INTERACTED WITH HAND DOWN

As you see Brandon tried 2 times, and he couldn't finish the job and let me go!!! Even he didn't tape it right, and it's about to fall off.

It's so dirty, they don't have hand sanitizer, and the screen for check in needed to be cleaned. I had the appointment at 11, and I had been waiting for more than 1 hour because when I checked in their system didn't show my appointment, so when I show the confirmation photo of appointment to them, they said they can't help because I was late, but I was there exactly 10:59 doing the process of checking for my appointment. Brandon was the worth part of this review because after trying 2 times on my both hands, he couldn't find my vein, and he said he can't try more than 2 times, and I have to go to different quest lab. I asked for other person be fore he tried his second attempt on my other arm, and he said the other person is in launch, so overall I had very bad experience!

There is hidden extra lab fee of 55 usd each person if don't have health insurance. I found this location after seaching on yelp and on google. I sent my family (5 persons) to this Sherman Oaks location on May 10th 2022 for walk-in covid test. They were foreign and not understand english well. I sent them there after reading the website of the price. https://medconciergela.com/csherman-oaks-location/ They were really disappointed that there was another extra 55 usd fee, that made them need to pay 235 each person. I was the one that sending them there and very disappointed too, i felt very guilty to bring them to very expensive covid test location. It's very high charge for covid test. Not recommended. Especially if you don't have health insurance. Please update your website page https://medconciergela.com/csherman-oaks-location/ to include 55 usd lab fee if we don't have health insurance. Update: I called their customer service or operator and someone said and sent me text that I need to click it before I can see the extra lab fee. The website is not clear if we need to click it to show that extra fee if we don't have insurance. Also my family were doing walk-in, not appointment. I saw the price list on that website page then told them to go there without clicking. The point is that page (without clicking anything) doesn't show the extra fee, and we were disappointed of that. The reason is if we knew that information before hand, we would go somewhere else cheaper since they were 5 people. If it's 1 person only, we didn't really care. Since they were 5 people, so imagine how much money they could save 5 multiple by 55 usd. 1175 usd total for covid test was expensive.

This is the second…read moretime I've had bloodwork done here and the staff I've worked with are so kind, with a great level of attention to detail. As a nurse, I know what to look for and appreciate when you can tell someone actually cares about their work. I can't remember who helped me last time (though I think she was in the first cubby on the right, sometime last year), but I was having around 20 vials of blood drawn including some very specialized labs, & she took her time ensuring she had all the right tubes for the right labs, as well as enough of them. She also found a billing error in my chart, which she facilitated the correction of. As far as I know, she did not have to do that; it was above and beyond. Today I had my blood drawn by Jamus (I think that's what his name tag said, I'm sorry if I misremembered!) and he got more than he bargained for when he asked me how my weekend was and my response was "rough." But instead of shying away from what could've been an awkward conversation, we had a laugh, and he asked me what happened. He was very sweet to listen & sympathize with me, especially as a fellow pet parent. He didn't have to do that either! He was also very gentle with the blood draw & let me know before I left how long the labs were expected to take to process. This location is also not overly crowded, and they do have a parking structure, though they unfortunately don't validate. I was able to find street parking today but I don't remember it being as expensive as the parking for the Quest locations in Burbank near the hospital. I'll be coming back here next time I need bloodwork done that I can't get drawn at my doctor's office. Thank you!!!

With that being said, I genuinely feel it is in the best interest of people's health to know how ineffective the Quest service is. I want to be clear this has little to do with the employees I came into contact with this day, as they are simply working under a flawed system. After going to four different locations over the past two days, I witnessed almost everyone on the waitlist being turned away (some after waiting hours) and even people with appointments being made to wait that long. At 2:30pm I witnessed an elderly woman be told she wouldn't be seen and to go home - she explained she'd been there since 10:30am. In my case, I was turned away as I ran a few minutes late for my appointment and, because they themselves were running behind, I was told I was not able to be seen. I was doubled over in pain and explained to them I will be leaving town the next day, so this was the only time I would be able to come in for my appointment (which was simply a drop off). After speaking to three different people, they let me know there was no way I could drop off what I needed to. Once again, no knock to them as this is simply a problem with the Quest service. I understand I was late, but how is there no wiggle room for a service dealing with urgent medical needs? I simply needed to drop something off that I was holding in my hand. They told me I'd need to fill out paperwork in addition to my drop off, but why couldn't I do that in the waiting room like every other doctor's office in America? They suggested I go to the Burbank location as that one is open later, and upon getting there, I was also told I might not be seen. If you have any urgent medical testing need, PLEASE do anything you can to avoid using Quest. I cannot believe the needs of patients is put in the hands of such an ineffective, and quite frankly inhumane system. Like I said, I have visited four locations in the past two days and this dynamic in the waiting room was present at all four. I ignored all of the countless negative reviews at every location, which I now regret.
