It might have been because I went early on a weekday, but out of all the Quest Diagnostic locations I've been to, this definitely has been the best experience so far. I set up an appointment @ this facility. They emailed me confirmation so they had my contact info. I fasted as per instructed. I arrived for my appointment & found a note on the door that they had to close due to unforeseen circumstances. In this age of electronic communication, they certainly had several ways to contact their patients with appointments! Since I had been fasting, I went to another location & had to wait an hour and 1/2 to get the lab work done. This put me late to my next appointment for the day. I will not go back to this location on Graves, SanJose but will not be surprised if they cease to exist! read more

For blood work requiring fasting, there are no morning appointments available even a week in advance. The staff are wonderful people, but the management is tragically poor. All Santa Clara County locations are equally poor in staffing levels. read more

Pros: - lots of parking, easy to get to/find - Calvin was a nice and easy going phlebotomist. Seems like the other coworkers were nice as well. - had no wait as a walk in (though I did try my best to avoid the morning rush) - QUICK Cons: - The waiting room, lighting, patient rooms, and bathrooms are definitely in need of a refresh (moreso a management issue) - There's no person in the waiting room to greet you/help answer any questions, just an iPad on a stand. Not the worst thing in the world, but I imagine it would be annoying if you had an unusual situation, and had to bother one of the phlebotomists while they're with other patients (again, management issue) read more

The quality of the lab work, the professionalism of the staff and the ease at which blood was drawn are all top notch and nicely done. The results also came back rapidly in 3-4 days and was well organized in digital formats. However, their appointment system is buggy and doesn't show sufficient availability. even when you come as the first person on walk in, the standby queue is poorly managed. i wish they improve that process. especially when you are fasting for 12 hours, last thing you want is to wait another 2 hours. read more

Stopped over for a blood sample. The technician seemed to be clueless on how to find the vein. He spent 5 minutes poking needles on both of my arms and he was not able to get it done. I have normal weight with no thick arms and had no problem with doing blood sample in my past 20 years. This guy needs better training or be replaced. They just loss a long time customer read more

This lab is near where I live. I had no issues coming here but waiting time is a lot shorter than other places. If you don't have an appointment it can be really hard coming here. This office is very cramped and staffed only by two people while the standard says it should be three people working in a Quest Office. During the lunch hour it's confined to only one person who is serving the whole time. Even if you do have an appointment you have to wait five minutes longer than other locations. However it's not all bad because once it's your turn the process to draw blood doesn't hurt too much and takes a very short time. If you are super lucky then they will get to the standby list first due to having zero appointments available. Please plan accordingly Warning: Do not schedule a phone appointment to this location because no one will answer. read more

Had to get some lab work today, I walked in with out an appointment. The first thing I noticed was how nice and clean everything was and everything was in its place. Honestly I thought the place would be slammed with appointments but alas I guess all the zombies took care of everybody else, as I was the only one in the waiting area. I walked up and was immediately greeted by one of the 2 employees. She asked if I've been in before? I said no, no problem just fill out your name address and phone number and let me have your insurance card. As I was filling out the paperwork, we engaged in Smalltalk. We actually had a great conversations. after I was done with the paperwork she took me to the back room I drew my blood. My overall experience was fantastic and would highly recommend this location to all. read more

But someone complained and they let them ahead of us, after that, they continued serve another people who came in. They pushed me back. We will never come back to this place again. DO NOT GO HERE unless you want to spend hours on the phone with insurance about incorrect billing!! I came THREE separate times because this location kept saying I needed a different request from my doctor or they would bill me. It's took 4 months to get in finally and when I came in for the third time, with the CORRECT BLOOD ORDER, they STILL processed it incorrectly! My billed insurance wrong for a regular physical blood order!! I had to call my insurance and explain how they were a mess and how quest location told me I'd have to pay if the order was wrong, so I fixed the order and they STILL sent a claim to my insurance!!! TALK ABOUT SHADY BILLING!! IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FREE AND THEY BILLED A CODE THAT WOULD MAKE ME PAY! Shame on you graves location. read more

My past experiences over the years have been positive for Quest in Saratoga. However, the way I was treated on my recent visit was inexcusable. I simply had a urine specimen drop off in one of their kits with my order inside as well as my insurance information. There were two people in the office and two available techs. However, when I tried to hand the package to the tech she told me to put it in the area for urine samples then started asking me if this phone number address etc were right, none were as she had called Karen not my very similar sounding name. When she said I was scheduled for a test that I knew I was not I stopped her. She then accused me of forcing my way in ahead of someone with an appointment. There were only two clients and both were taken back at the time. She remained hostile but did finally look a what I had brought in after getting all of the information a second time. I would give the tech no stars but the lab 4 stars. read more

As of April 2, California had a relatively low number of coronavirus cases per capita, compared to New York, New Jersey, and Louisiana. California health officials and politicians, don't pat yourself on the back just yet. Just check the number of covid-19 tests processed: New York 239,000 and California 33,000. As of March 31, one of California's major commercial lab testers of covid-19, Quest Diagnostics, had 115,000 covid-19 test results pending in 12 labs across the country. This is due partly to a shortage of trained technicians to run the lab test machines, and a shortage of the testing reagents, many of which imported from China and other countries. California itself has 59,500 covid-19 test results pending, with test results taking up to 10 days. The state with the second most reported pending results is Florida with 77,000 tests processed and 1,280 covid-19 test results pending. Trump got his second covid-19 test result in 15 minutes. Much more essential people like emergency room doctors, ER nurses, critical care nurses, anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, respiratory therapists, respiratory therapist technicians, intensive care technicians, emergency medical technicians, medical workers, health care workers, paramedics, medical first responders, police, and firefighters have been quarantined at home, away from work, for 10-12 days before finding out their covid-19 result were negative! Worse yet, such an essential worker, negative at the time of testing, could be infected within the 10 day test result waiting period, receive their negative result from 10 days earlier, show no symptoms, and then go back to work infecting their professional work colleagues in addition to the patients they contact. Patient stays longer in hospitals awaiting covid-19 test results of up to 10 days. Subsequent heavier demands and usage of hospital staffing, hospital supplies, hospital bedding availability, and personal protective equipment, all of which already in short supply. An out patient may have flown on a full airplane, ridden on a bus, or gone to overcrowded stores like Costco or Walmart, infecting countless others, by the time a positive result is obtained 10 days later. The state is looking for other private labs to run covid-19 tests. Abbott labs just rolled out a covid-19 test that can get results in 5-13 minutes, manufacturing up to 50,000 test cartridges a day. The White House gets them, but gives each state only 15 machines and 100 cartridges of these test kits. So Wyoming with 579,000 people gets the same number of test kits as California with 39,900,000 people. We will have to continue to rely on getting results from Quest Diagnostics, with results taking up to 10 days. California's April 3 count of 11290 coronavirus cases may be that of 10 days earlier-March 24, and is completely misleading. The actual number of positive covid-19 results as of April 3 may be triple that, but won't be reported until 10 days from now, on April 13. On the positive side: Quest Diagnostics backlog of 115,000 pending covid-19 test results on March 31 is an improvement of the 160,000 pending covid-19 test results on March 25. April 21 update: New York has processed 669,982 tests or 34,151 per million residents, ranking 1st of the 50 states. California has processed 300,100 tests or 7,666 per million residents, ranking 46th of the 50 states. On April 19 a panel of experts published a report saying that to begin to open up the country, 5 million tests would have to be processed daily. To bring the economy up to full speed, 30 million tests would have to be processed daily. Not going to happen relying on private labs like Quest Diagnostics. read more

I've had my blood drawn a number of times and this is by far my worst experience. From the start, the phlebotomist was really impersonal and seemed a bit indifferent. That attitude essentially translated to the blood draw itself. She was rough during the entire process. I experienced pain throughout which was heightened when she hurriedly switched from one vial to the next. With each and every one I had a spike in pain. I started bruising immediately afterwards and the pain lingered for several hours. read more

Waiting for standard labs for a week or more is not ok. People have labs drawn for a reason. Results marked as "in process" for week or more to see results is not acceptable. I called and checked with my doctors office and they have not received them either. I'll try another company next time. read more

There's nothing like hearing the nurse complain about how overworked they are well there's a needle in your arm. It wasn't the one helping me she was nice with the lady on the other side of the partition complaining to her. And then they complained how could they possibly take walk-ins and they have two patients every 15 minutes. Honestly her complaint had Merit but that's pretty tacky to do in front of patients. I like that I can make an appointment online and check in online but then it was supposed to text me when it was my turn but I never got the update or the text that they were ready for me. The nurse actually had to come outside to call my name because the whole point of this checkin system is you didn't have to be in the waiting room. SEE BELOW Two weeks after I had the blood work my doctor mailed the results to my home with out any updated explanation to what happened. I honestly don't know if my doctor or the lab was at fault. Changed stars from 1 to 4. ( DON'T REVIEW LAB UNTIL YOU GET YOUR LAB RESULTS . Had to go for blood work. Made appointment and I felt everything went well. Quest sent me a email to review my experience with the lab, gave them a 5 stars rating. Called my doctor to get results and was told the lab lost my blood samples. I was on antibiotics for four days now so doctor said not to bother getting new blood work.) read more

I do blood screening at all the local labs for prostate and Lupus issues! This Quest lab is on target with efficiency, time management and care. They do a good job with customer care and have a template that has clear explanations to what each code means and entails. The stock price is a clear indication of their success! read more

Went during the plandemic and 1st time I forgot to fast so I had to return. The second time there I went in the morning about an hour before my appointment and it was packed. A older couple was telling me not to sit in their chair when it was empty, I got up and waited outside. I realized that it was packed in the morning because people are fasting. They should state that morning time is always packed, but the women there were all nice just the woman at the front desk seemed nervous because it was so full in the waiting room. Next time if I need to fast, I will go in the morning expecting there will be crowd. read more

I reached Quest lab just barely on time only to find I failed to bring my lab order. I pictured having to reschedule or wait all day. They could not have been nicer. I went home returning with the lab order and was told it would be quicker to sign in as a walk in than to reschedule. I had already signed in as a reschedule so she helped me delete that and sign in as a walk in. They were extremely nice, helpful and efficient. Thank you! read more

Quest on Graves Avenue. Bad experience. Phlebotomist was working alone, obviously very stressed and extremely rude. Was yelling at one patient and patient yelling back. Quite uncomfortable. Will find another location or another lab company next time. Quest needs to re-evaluate their staffing. I have no confidence that my labs will be the correct ones being sent to my physician. read more

I had to have blood drawn and went to the 5150 graves west san jose location for the first time. It was clean and the check in is via a tablet where you scan you license, insurance cards etc. or you can have it on your phone and scan the code. I checked in at my time and within 5 minutes I was taken to the drawing room, which was very clean. Candy was the nice lady that I requested as I could see she was very experienced. My viens are terrible and so hard to even find one. I need a butterfly and sometimes they have to use my hand. She didnt want to use my hand because she was concerned with pain. SHe warmed some packs and put them on my arms to see if the veins would come up. She managed to get a vein but it was so slow and hurt. I told her to just use my hand and get it over with. She is so good and it didnt hurt at all. NO BRUISE either!! I know these Phlebotomists work a lot of hours and get moved around to different locations. They dont make great money either (my friend did this for 23 years and left the field). SO be nice to them! Candy was so good and thoughtful and it was a positive experience. I would reccomend her for anyone with difficult veins or who must have a butterfly needle. She knows her stuff and I hope managment reads this!! If I could give zero stars I would. DO NOT COME HERE!!! I have been coming to this Quest location for many years, doing regular blood work every few months. I'm neurodivergent and have many sensory issues, and I've loved this Quest in the past because they all know me and are good about walking me through each step so getting my blood drawn is as un-traumatizing as possible. When I went today I didn't recognize any of the employees - there has been a LOT of turnover in recent months because they keep firing people. I had an appointment, but I forgot to print my requisition form. That's okay, because I've forgotten several times before and I've always been able to email it to the work computer there and they print it for me. I was called into the room, and I explained what happened. The new employee working with me said she didn't think I could do that, but I explained how it had worked in the past. She and the other employee there seemed to think I was trying to send it to their personal emails, which wasn't the case. I even showed the form to her on my phone, and asked what the other options were. She then said she would refuse to serve me unless I had it printed. Okay, let me see if there's a fed ex or something nearby. Both employees were talking to me at the same time very slowly, like they thought I was stupid. I heard one of them say to call my doctor to have them fax it so I could still have my time-sensitive appointment, so I did. It was all very overwhelming, and I told them I was starting to feel panicky. The employee with me talked even slower and told me to "just chill," which was incredibly demeaning when I was trying to solve the problem and getting anxious and overwhelmed by them treating me like I was a complete idiot. I called my doctor, and the other employee came back in and told me there was no speaking allowed in the blood draw room. I was very taken aback because we'd been talking together the whole time. She said I wasn't allowed to talk anymore because "there was a patient in the room" (????) like I wasn't also a patient with an appointment. I'm trying to reach my doctor, they're both talking to me like I can only understand them if they speak very slowly and extra loud, and I'm panicking. Then, the employee with me put her hands tightly on my shoulders and physically removed me from the room while I was trying to fix the issue in the middle of my appointment. I sat in the waiting room trying not to cry or hyperventilate while I tried to get my doctor to fax the form. Once the fax was delivered, I attempted multiple times to get the attention of the two employees. For almost 10 minutes, each time I spoke to them as they passed, they refused to look at me, speak to me, or even acknowledge I was there. There were only a couple other people in the room waiting and no one was speaking but me, so I know they heard me. I got so panicked (and shaky from low blood sugar since it was fasting) that I had to walk out and go home. Not training your staff to be kind and humane to anyone having anxiety or panic, especially disabled people just trying to process what's happening, is appalling and humiliating. read more

I am offering a 5 -star review for Joan H.,technician for her loving kindness and compassion. Joan took time to comfort me when I nearly collapsed into a pile of tears after making a second mistake in a series of unfortunate events and misgivings regarding two tests I needed to have performed. I checked in here today as a standby as I was a walk-in. The check in system screen at Quest allowed me to do that. Then this employee came in and suggested very strongly that it would be better if I left as I didn't have an appointment. I felt extremely unwelcome and left. This was my first visit here. read more

Terrible experience with Quest as a corporation. The staff at this office were completely pleasant, proficient and professional. Service was timely. That's where the good experience completely ended. I personally paid for the Covid anti-body test and took the test on 6-15-20 As of 7-22-20, My Quest report on my computer account still shows "no results." When I email Quest, the only response I get is "don't email us again." It is virtually impossible to talk to a real person. When I would leave a message, the response was "don't call us again." When I returned to the Quest office (and again, the staff were very pleasant), they were unable to assist me, because the issue I had was not something they could handle at their level. I asked to see their business license because I wanted to copy the information on it, as I wanted to make a formal complaint to specific regulatory offices. My request was refused and I was advised the office would have to first call a "supervisor." Eventually the "supervisor" was contacted and I was advised I could not see the license because it was a "legal" issue. I was told I would be contacted by someone to discuss my request, and I left my supporting paperwork and contact numbers. I have never heard from anyone since that time. I I subsequently went to a different laboratory (not another Quest office) and had the results returned in two days. Obviously Quest's performance was totally unacceptable, and I am making complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the State licensing agency, and probably even the District Attorney"s Office ( it is, after all, theft when you pay for something which you never receive). I understand that the laboratory is very busy at this time because of the volume of business, however even their web site says it may take up to one week to get results, and to contact them after that if you have not received them. Of course, busy as they may be, at the same time the increased business volume also means increased income. Perhaps Quest simply needs to update their business model. I'm terrible at getting blood drawn. I get anxious and nauseous. The team at quest was incredible. I came in for a walk-in and after about 10min was called in. The work done would be easy for most, but was taxing for me. The team did a great job of keeping me calm and helping me to feel normal. Found this Quest close to my house so decided to give it a try...Bad experience from the moment I walked thru the door. Receptionist is rude. No greeting. She shouldn't be working a front desk or any customer service job. Seems like she hates her job and people. Then the wait...soooo long. 7 people in the waiting room and only one lab tech working (and she isn't very friendly from what I can hear and see from the waiting room) I ended waiting way too long without even giving them my paperwork yet so I left. When I crossed off my name on the list the receptionist was rude again. I didn't even bother speaking to her. Don't waste your time here. Go to Good Sam Quest or O'Connor. At least there is more than one tech working. read more

Went during Covid. They have really put in the effort to meet the social distancing guidelines. You get the option to wait inside or get a text if you want to wait outside. Check in was simple and automated. Nurses drawing the blood were friendly and competent. Only issue is locating it. My GPS took me to the mall just next to it. You have to go behind smart and final or Trader joe. It's in a two story building complex that looks like a motel. read more
