I was a bit scared to get my blood drawn because I've had my fair share of inexperienced nurses that leave me with a huge arm bruise but I'm so happy with the experience that I had at LabCorp. It was efficient with the QR Code check-in system and I was the only one there at 9 AM (my appointment was for 9:15 AM but they tell you to arrive 15 minutes early like most doctor appointments) and was able to be helped right away. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm so glad I had the nurse that I did. Very pleased with this location! I have a fear of bloodwork and the lady who drew my blood was amazing! She was quick and I didn't even feel the needle go in!! I didn't get her name but she's a tall woman with glasses and tattoos. Other positives about this location is the abundant parking and how you get seen almost as soon as you check in for your appointment. Monica is a PRO! I have never had such a quick and successful blood draw. They were prompt on their opening time, got me right in and she was so quick. No double or triple sticking to find a vein! Wow. Just left the Quest Lab at 777 Knowels Drive. Unfriendly, unorganized and unprofessional. First, they arrived well after the appoints were to start; they didn't engage with the people waiting in line for the doors to open; when they did unlock the customer door, they didn't address anyone -just unlocked the door which left us wondering if we all were to go in or wait outside. Once in, it is a small rectangle room with one door and no human to talk to, just a kiosk to sign in on. Once signed in, you wait for your name to be called. They called me by my Doctors name and not my name. The person that helped me was in a big rush (probably because they were late and trying to catch-up). When labeling tubes of blood, they were not making sure the labels were attached well to the tube (one was sticking more to the tray than the tube of blood). That is NOT acceptable. I asked that they adjust the label so it would not come off. With a heavy sigh, they complied. I understand having a bad day. It happens to all of us. I do not understand being carless with tests when that is your purpose. Take a breath; slow down; be kind. All of which cost us nothing. read more

We just had the most horrible experience with this LabCorp office. My teenage child is transgender and needed a blood draw for the gender clinic. We made an appointment for today, checked-in on time but were told by the staff to remain in the car until someone paged us. When they paged us, we went to the check-in area again and waited there for about 20 minutes. They claimed they paged and called multiple times, but they clearly didn't. We were the only people remaining in the small waiting area. It was pretty clear they were actively ignoring my child due to his gender identity. When my wife confronted the staff about that, they were shouting, slammed the paperwork on the counter and told us to leave. Then they called the police on us. Can you imagine that? LabCorp claims to be an LGBTQ+ friendly employer. Well, there's obviously a long way to go to also be friendly to your customers. PS: I should have read the earlier reviews, quote: "that lady receptionist (Kim) needs to take some customer service classes or resign from that job. All the previous feedback about the rude receptionist is true. I can confirm it with my own experience today, at around 9:30 AM. While this receptionist was rude and disrespectful to white customers, she was rude and disrespectful to non-white customers exponentially. Although I've never played the race card, and have so far advanced through life solely on my own merits, I've had my fair share of being mistreated and disrespected by racists, and I can confirm my experience this morning with this receptionist was one of such experience. I wonder why the owner of this Labcorp is still keeping this lady despite multiple and consistent complaints about her. Maybe she's the owner of this lab? She is the type of person ready to ignore you without providing the service that is her responsibility. Initially I didn't know about her name. I actually rate you guys less than 1 star. My husband went to get bloodwork done after fasting for 12 hours. He was told that they didnt have the order from the doctor's office. They told him to call his doctor and get the orders faxed over. My husband tried calling the doctor's office but was put on hold. When he asked the lab tech for help in calling doctor's office because they usually can get thru faster, the tech refused and told my husband to drive over to the doctor's office to get it. He was so frustrated and wanted to get bloodwork done so he wound up driving to the docs office then back to lab. This kind of treatment is so disrespectful and shows lack of willingness to help the patient. They were totally unprofessional and downright rude to my husband. How about a minus 10 rating!!!!! My mother will ask for Kim just to have a chance to say "hello." My mother would like to express compliments to Kim's VERY FRIENDLY manner when greeting my mother at each lab visit. The wait was short and check-in was easy. The staff was cold but did their job efficiently. I ended up with a huge bruise on my arm even though I left the bandage on for an hour. Made my fasting appt at 8:55am for a 9:15am slot. Got the email and text confirmations. Walked in, used the electronic check-in, waited 3 min to turn in my lab paperwork to the front desk where the friendly clerk had been helping someone patiently before me who wasn't understanding their lab orders. 2 min later the lab tech came to get me. She was awesome! She's super experienced and no pain at all. All and all, VERY easy and friendly office. Got a call at 7:30 from Labcorp saying my appointment is cancelled because someone called in sick. Um. So there is one person for the entire office and no backup? Is someone going to come out and tell all these people waiting they are not going to open? The person who called me said she has no idea, she was just told to call me and cancel my appointment...at the SAME TIME as my appointment. We went to the Los Gatos location of LabCorp and were utterly frustrated with our treatment by the receptionist. My spouse and I checked in for our routine physical blood test. One of us forgot our HSA card, but upon checking with the receptionist were told that our card was declined at their end. We checked with the HSA staff on call and clarified that we are well below our daily spending limit and asked her to try again. She bluntly refused saying, 'I have already tried thrice, I will NOT go through the process again'. Even though we said we have clarified with the HSA company. We asked whether we can come tomorrow, and would call to check for the waiting time, she said,' I will not pick your calls, and don't be surprised if I don't pick your calls'. We were ready to go to another branch of LabCorp and get our blood test done, to our surprise, we were charged 200$ LESS in San Jose, COMPARED TO LOS GATOS BRANCH. The lady at the reception desk was the rudest person I have ever dealt with at any testing facility I have been at. They have a machine to sign in on. It said place my drivers license in the slot, I did. The screen asked if I have primary or primary and secondary insurance, I pressed primary and secondary. I inserted my drivers license when requested. It then said insert my primary insurance card. I left that at home by mistake. This is when things started badly. I went to the receptionist lady and asked if she had an order for my lab work at this lab Corps. She said I had to sign in at the machine first. I told her I could not, she immediately interrupted me and said yes you can, I will show you how, she immediately got up and started to come out and I then said, if I don't have my primary insurance card how will the machine know my information, is my information on file? She was not happy with my question. She sat down and asked me if I didn't have my card, how did I expect to get anything done today. Huh... I told her I have been to this office many times, don't they have it on file, they always make a photocopy of my card, so I thought they would. She did not like this question either. After she started talking to me like I was a five year old, I said " i'm sorry you're in such a bad mood but please don't take it out on me". That is when she said WAIT A MINUTE, I'M NOT THE ONE IN A BAD MOOD, I'M TRYING TO HELP YOU. After a few more minutes of her talking, I told her I would go home get my card and go to a different lab corp. (There was no way I was gonna let her try to draw my blood after her bad attitude towards me). I left. I have never encountered this person or anyone else that was this rude to a patient before in my life. I would strongly recommend you do not go to this lab Corps. There are many others around with very professional, helpful employees. Unfortunately I did not find that to be the case here. I've been to this location several times and found the staff to be very professional. Waited under 10 minutes each time, and I usually go around 9:30am. I bring a book, just in case, but I never get to read it. Kim will take your information, have you initial some things, ask for your insurance, and tell you to have a seat. The people complaining SO much about the front desk person, I think they must be strange. Be nice to people, and they'll be nice back. It's the golden rule. Smile at people. She's a hard-working front-desk person dealing with insurance companies and whiny diva's all day long, in what appears to be a dead-end job. My encounter with the Receptionist was a little strange. I told her the name of my Doctor that ordered my Lab test. She told me I had multiple orders in the system (all of them closed) and insisted firmly that I let her read them all. At the end it was the same answer I gave her originally. I started to get upset with her attitude, then just decided to let it go. I am not sure what is going on in people's lives, so i try to not to judge harshly. I'm not sure other reviewers have interacted with the same lady, but the one who was there was, in my opinion, incredibly smug, disrespectful, and unprofessional. The facility also doesn't give me the impression that it is well-kept. I agree with other reviewers comments, the carpet and counter looked dirty. Here's a narration of my experience: I walk in and get in line behind the only person in front of me. After a minute or two, the clerk/technician lady orders that person to move aside and yells out "sign-in" without ever looking up. I wasn't sure who she was talking to, so I asked and got some snarky reply letting me know it was for me. So, I sign myself in and take a seat. Just as my turn is up, someone comes in and she again yells out "sign-in". However, the person who had just come in turned out to be some third-party doctor asking if something he had ordered had been delivered to them. Instead of asking him to hold a minute while she take my blood sample, they start a 15 minute discussion about what he ordered and that they must have delivered somewhere else. After the doctor leaves, the lab lady turns to me and in a condescending tone asks "OK big boy - you ready?". So, I answer that I am and she tells me go to "the first door across the hall" which actually turned out to be the second door from the right and about the fourth from the left. So, when I ask which one, she walks over, opens the door and says "first door". Once in the room, she tells me to sit down on her chair, which I do. Then, she just yells "arm out straight". So I do that and she starts taking my blood. She then literally tosses each of the two test tubes full of blood on to a table. I was almost sure they were going to break, but they didn't. In any case, I thought this was an unprofessional and disrespectful way to treat someone's blood. After wrapping part of my arm in gauze, she says "now you can go grab breakfast or lunch or whatever you see it as". I kept trying to be friendly, but all of these interactions with her (with the exception of when she re-iterated "first door") were without any eye contact from her part, so I don't think she even noticed. I really don't believe it is because she is shy, but rather because of a more serious character flaw. read more

I can see why this location would get some negatives reviews - it's an old center, run down and not well maintained but the woman who is there all the time is wonderful! You just have to get on her good side. She's alone all day so I don't blame her for being... slightly unfriendly but I think she's just a no-nonsense type of person.
