Needed a blood draw, went online to schedule an appointment which was very easy, I entered my information and promptly was given a 11:10am but would not give me conformation # tried several times. At this point I decided to go early the next morning @ 8:am and take my chances on getting in. Much to my surprise a beautiful young Phlebotomist by the name of Diamond assisted me with my check in ! She was very professional, courteous, friendly and helpful which made my visit very comfortable and I received 5 Star Service ! Went in for a blood draw and ended up with the worse hematoma/bruise on my arm. I have the best veins for blood draws and have NEVER had this happen before. The Phlebotomist was abrupt and never said a word to me. Put a piece of gauze and a piece of tape over it and when I got to my car the tape came off and there was a lot of blood everywhere. By the end of the night it was pretty bad and only got worse. A week later it is still black and blue. Emailed patient advocacy team so hoping they discussed it with the girl who took my blood and gave her a little more training. read more

I just saw Dana M.'s review and I will ditto the opening line! Several of us waited outside to have the doors open at 12:30 pm today, so said their sign. They almost did but that was the last time "on time" meant anything. My appointment was at 12:40, as was another in the waiting line.She checked in. I tried but the machine would not take my CDL. But a voice on the screen did say, "Please sit down. You are patient #109 and wait until you are called." So I did. In the meantime, a young man checked in and he was listed as 2nd on the waiting board. It's now 1:00. The first woman's name was called. I jumped up and told a plebotomist that I was 2nd but my name/number 109 was not on the waiting screen. "Just a minute," she said and we'll look into it". I never saw her again. Another plebotomist called the young man. "Just a minute," I said. "I'm second and I have an appointment,", and she said "You're not Adam." I said, "I'm next and my name/number is not even on the screen." "You're not Adam," she said again. "Come on, Adam," and off they went, completely dismissing me. A couple of minutes later, I saw my name come up and my time was 14 minutes later than my scheduled appt. When back in the cubicle, asked my plebotomist why the lab was running late and she said "I'm not sure. I just got here." Could they have been understaffed? Why couldn't someone come out and say "we are running a little behind. Thanks for your patience," or put it on the screen. When she finished with me, I asked her for tape on my vein because a bandaid over the gauze usually doesn't stop the bleeding. She glared at me and sighed; I asked if I'd said something wrong and she didn't even answer. Her non-verbals indicated she clearly couldn't be bothered. Not one apology came from anyone. "We're sorry for your inconvenience", should have been lovely to hear. But good customer service is just not in their wheelhouse. And I feel they don't care at all. Lab Corp, here I come. read more

I had an appointment on 12/1/2022 at 10:20am. I was there at 10:10am to be sure everything was in order, however, the office was closed due to short staff. I was not notified, as a result I lost time from work with no results. Tried to email them with my frustration and was denied. I hope I can find another testing company that has better customer concern! read more

I would advise avoiding this lab/location at all costs. This was the rudest, roughest, and most painful blood draw I've ever had in my life, and I've had many. I was the only patient present, it was late afternoon, so it wasn't a harried, behind schedule thing. No one at the front desk, so there's that impersonal kiosk check-in. I got ushered in right away with several abrupt, mumbled questions from Diamond. She had my first name wrong, never confirmed a correction, or my last name, or my birthday. Next thing I know, without any preliminary taps or verbal warnings, she whirls around and thrusts her needle into my elbow bend. It was so fast, so abrupt, and SO painful, with a long ache that went on for quite a while. When I told her it was the most painful I'd ever experienced, it sounded like she responded with "you're not the first one." Period. No apology. No explanation. What does that even mean? I was so angry I was shaking. It ached all the way home and left a big bruise today. I don't know what Diamond was going through yesterday, but I felt that she was deliberately rude, rough, and uncivil. It was actually pretty shocking. Don't go there. Flo L. read more

To be honest, after reading through some of these reviews, I was even more nervous to go to this location. BUT....I am a firm believer in having my own experience to see how it goes for me personally. I am a VERY anxious person when it comes to anything needle and Dr. related. lol. I am 52 years old, that turns into a 5 year old inside with nerves whenever I have to go get blood drawn. I was so happy and relieved when I walked in for my afternoon appointment, and was greeted by a really friendly and fun nurse, who had me sign in and then sent me straight back to Jessica. I explained how nervous I was and they both were great at talking about fun stuff and kept me distracted. Jessica's technique did not hurt at all and I was in and out so fast. Also, the lab and waiting area was super clean and I felt safe in these new times with Covid. Thank you so much Jessica and I'm so sorry I didn't get the name of the nice woman, blonde hair, who loved my banana baseball hat! lol! You two helped me out so much today! :) read more

Comments specific to Quest Dx draw station located at Quest Diagnostics - 1300 Avenida Vista Hermosa Ste 160, San Clemente, CA 92673-6315. Showed up 10 min prior to 7:10AM, used automated kiosk to check-in (they don't staff the front desk). Called in promptly at 7:10 only to have phlebotomist tell me I'm not in their system, that I needed paperwork. I have routinely have blood drawn every 6 months for 5 years; apparently no ability to look that up in their system. Told to go home to retrieve paperwork and return. Returned 10 min later (I live locally so not a problem, if not slightly inconvenient). Upon return, spoke to same phlebotomist, who told me I had to re-check-in using Kiosk, QRC code won't work, only to find that next available apt was at 10:40AM. Stood by door (again, no front desk person to talk to) to wait for next patient to be called so I could talk to a human. Explained circumstances, that I had arrived at my schedule apt at 7:10AM, cannot wait in lobby for 3+ hours (needed to be to work), asked if could be seen in the next 15-20 min, presented paperwork to show the test order by my provider, and told that if the kiosk doesn't show availability then I would have to sit and wait until 10:40 - "...no guarantee we can see you before then...there's nothing we can do". Told to go back to kiosk and hit "other options". I explained I did this and there were NO OTHER OPTIONS until 10:40AM. These people are like robots. I liken the experience to going to the DMV. The employees are incredibly rude, unprofessional, exhibit zero critical thinking skills. Avoid this location. These people hate their jobs. Close it down or find employees who care. The downstream impact coordinating doctor's visit/availability (specialist), blood levels of Rx, work schedules, fasting, etc is significant. These people are myopically task-driven, no ability to think about the patient. read more

I took my 19 year old this morning. He has autism and is non verbal. We made a 7am appointment. Got in right away. Sarai ( spelling?) did the blood draw. She was calm and super fast! I suggested that we count during the blood draw to help distract. She did just that. We counted to 36 and she was able to get 4 whole vials of blood. A major success!! Thank you!!! read more

Michael is a highly professional and skilled phlebotomist. He checked me in quickly, explained every step of the process (even about the charges which will be sent to my insurance) and made sure I felt comfortable. He also let me know my doctor didn't order my test STAT so I shouldn't be concerned as it is a routine lab test that was ordered. He obviously followed protocol for safety and accuracy and I don't think I've ever had such commitment to policy represented before at other labs. This location is very understaffed. Walked-in on a Monday and they had 7 people in line before 7 and only 1 person check in people and 1 person doing the blood draws. They didn't have enough seats either. Tried making an appointment 2 weeks ahead of time and nothing was available till 3:00pm. Both of the staff members who were working were late. One was on at 7:05 had us waiting outside and the other came in at 7:10. Very inconvenient. read more

I have been wanting to post this review for a while. I came to this lab around Nov. 2019 for my son's first blood draw ever. He had just turned 1 year and as a mother I was so anxious for this visit. For days I dreaded having to bring him to a lab- would the phlebotomist be good with babies? Would they have to stick him multiple times? Etc. I even called Quest ahead of time to ask which location would be best for babies (they told me all locations had people trained). When we reluctantly arrived that day, Ivy went above and beyond anything I ever expected or could have hoped for. She was so compassionate to both my son and myself and I was so thankful for such a touching experience. She was efficient, focused and so sweet. I work in patient care myself and I believe anyone that had my experience would feel truly blessed. Thank you Ivy for your passion and pride. I took my 9 year old daughter in for a blood draw today. We made an appointment online which was super easy, checked in-which was also easy, and were taken back right away. My daughter was anxious and scared and the staff picked up on that and quickly distracted her and helped her through it. They were super fast, careful, and did a great job! My husband and I went to Quest to get a biometric screening (blueprint for wellness) recommended by my company. I went first and was very satisfied with staff. But my husband went on a different day (5-01-18) and the worker doing the test was very lame. I had told my husband what to expect, but when they didn't even take his blood pressure or measure his waist for body mass index, he asked her so she did. But when he received the written report in those 2 areas it said none given. She didn't even write it down I guess. So this test is incomplete and we will see if it will even qualify for the work incentive. Very disappointed with this worker!! read more

Go anywhere else to get your blood drawn. I have been waiting two hours to get blood drawn and still waiting. I have never seen anything like it! Several people have walked out!! Only 1 person working on people. If you can go anywhere else go. Let your Doctor to send you to any other lab. I will never come back! This is what our health care has come too! Went for fasting labs late morning to avoid a crowd. I'll acknowledge my lack of knowing they closed for lunch 1130-1230. I was there before 1130 and the door locked already. A patient exited, the staff pressured the exiting patient to shut the door quick- but I was able to pop my head in. Stated my need, stressing fasting labs- declined and sent away. Came to this location once because it is close to the house...I will NEVER come here again because it was full of two bus loads of patients from the rehab homes in the area. What a disgrace! This office does not honor your appointment. I made an appointment for 1:00 and arrived 10 minutes early. Another patient that had a 1:30 appointment was taken before me. IF YOU MAKE AN APPOINTMENT YOU SHOULD BE TAKEN IN AT THAT TIME UNLESS THEY ARE WORKING ON ANOTHER PATIENT. Might have no stars if it was not for the tech Michael. Would have been one if I hadn't been a walk in (I understand that I will wait when walking in). Michael was not only drawing blood - but we was also checking patients in, getting insurance info, trying to keep everyone's appointments on time - and he was literally running the entire time. The guy was great - it's clear though that he works for a company that has zero leadership or organization. I hope for him that someone recognizes how valuable he would be as an employee and steals him from the circus he currently works for. read more
