The first weekend on June I took my girl in for a cough that has been bothering her for a little bit too long and the process from start to finish was so efficient and more importantly, compassionate and down to earth. First and foremost, thank you to our PA-C who saw us Flo, she had such good energy start and end and was very thorough with the process and does not add anything unnecessary like some providers do to run up the bill (and trust me...we've had our fair share), but gets to the point and I LOVE THAT! The M.A. who helped us Minnie, so sweet and my daughter typically gets uncomfy when triaging, but with Minnie's bright aura, she was at ease! And Dominique! I think that was her favorite person at the end of the visit because she surprised her with the toy she wanted from the toy machine (which is so nice they have that to begin with) from the clinic's trade box as well as some fun sticker sheets too, and like the last two lovely ladies, amazing energy as well. Congrats to Cali Quick Urgent Care for having a great team and I am so glad we have found this place. **Just FYI to parents or other patients, I could hear other parents getting out of the room to ask when they are getting seen, I've waited over 2 hours at another urgent care before so people need to have a little more courtesy and patience as I think there is only 1 provider. Dr…read more Park was a friendly and accessible doctor - he understood that being a doctor is a people business - a family business. He listened. He diagnosed. He cared. He knew the nuances of what it takes to be a doctor. I was bummed when Dr. Park told me he was retiring. One thing he asked of me was to give the new doctor's a chance. The moment I met, Dr. David Mir, I noticed he does not know how to look at people. He's somewhat emotionless and clinical - there was no indication he intended to build doctor/patient rapport. Dr. Park gave you a friendly fist bump and listened. After Dr. Mir examined me, he turned back to his laptop and started typing. He asked a couple more questions and then told me what he planned to prescribe to me. Then, very abruptly, he got up rushed to the door, mumbled something about coming back again and disappeared. Were we done? I wasn't quite sure. What just happened? Do I wait? Do I leave? So I got up and walked out the door unsure if he was finished - it seemed that way. If I did that to a client it would be considered very unprofessional and my client would probably start looking for someone else. Dr Parks nurse was trapped there with these people. She seemed genuinely happy when I walked through the door (a familiar face) and now I understood why. These weren't her people. She looked happy. The staff looked clinically miserable. After I walked out the door, I swore, I would never go back to this doctor unless... Dr. Park came out of retirement. The real frustration was that I had given them the exact pharmacy and location I use. When they sent in my prescription, they sent it to a completely different pharmacy. When I phoned the doctor's office to have the prescription sent to the correct pharmacy - no one picked up the phone. I called three times and no one picked up the phone. There were at least five people standing behind the reception counter at the doctor's office 10 minutes ago. Cold. The one star goes to Dr. Parks remaining staff member. Given one chance to retain an existing patient and win over a new one, they didn't seem to care. They didn't listen. They didn't smile. They don't seem to understand the long game of building a loyal practice.

They do their own blood work there, xrays and even have some drugs on site so you don't have to go to the pharmacy. Usually a one stop shop The staff is kind. Dr. Park is the doctor that has only one priority, YOU. He takes the time to get to know you medically and gives you a wide lens on many different options, why certain ones are better for your body and tries to steer you away from stupid medical choices. My issue being my insurance company (united health care) is causing so many issues with approving a simple CT scan on my arm. They approve a MRI but not the CT. It's caused me a major headache and lots of stress over something that should be so easy. This office has alleviated a lot of the stress. They are professionals to the upmost. Dr. Chang seems very thoughtful in his actions with me as well. I feel he is honest and caring. They didn't have a lot of doctors on staff, but it wasn't a busy day when we went. We wound up needing some more extreme tests and they called around to other Hoag hospital locations and were able to get us a STAT CT scan that same day. The doctor asked a lot of questions and was very thorough. This is a nice local urgent care and way better than going to any emergency room or waiting three months to book with your own doctor!
