The check in woman was so warm and prompt for us. My son was singing loudly and playing with kids toys ( with a bleeding head ) while we waited to be seen and honestly he was probably too loud especially because we weren't the only ones in the waiting room, but she was just laughing and telling me how sweet he is. Then it was time to go back. The nurse/ assistant that walked us back and got us settled was also just such a gem and made us feel so welcomed and safe. Then Dr. Gentile came in and right off the bat my son was smitten with him. He played games with my son and explained clearly everything he was going to do and made him feel strong and brave and in charge of his own body. My son ended up needing two staples in the back of his head and numbing injections.The staff and doctor worked together so well and so fast my son barely had time to react! I was so impressed and so relieved. My son was talking about the Dr all week telling me how cool he was and how he wants him at his upcoming birthday party. Just so sweet. What a great role model to have in our community to reinforce the idea to our kids that doctors are here to make us better and aren't scary but are heros ! At this appointment, he asked me if I had any issues and I said that I thought I had a wart on my foot. He looked at it and declared that it was a Corn and asked me if I would like some of the callous around it cut down to relieve some pressure. Without even thinking about it, I said sure and it took him 30 seconds to shave a little callus on my heel. I was extremely surprised when I received a bill from Providence and saw that they were charging $256 for cutting of the skin and $487 for surgery. To add insult to injury, I had been to the dermatologist in the meantime, and I found out that it was indeed a wart on my foot and not a corn. I appealed to Providence only to have them deny my claim. I am now appealing with my insurance company, but wanted to post this as a warning to other potential clients that this practice and this doctor in my opinion are scamming patients and insurance companies for procedures not performed.
