This is a very specific review. They advertise and encourage walk-ins but have no method for serving them. I watched carefully for 1.5 hrs, they have appointments every 10 min and if someone is done quickly, they wait in the back until the next scheduled appointment has arrived. They have no intention of serving walkins. If they remove the advertisements that would be fine, but as it is currently, it's false advertising. I've been here with my 80yr old mother for now an hour and fourth five minutes. We got here right at 8am because we couldn't get an appointment and she needed to do a blood asap. They only took appointments and when there weren't any appointments they just sat there. That's right, I went to use the restroom and saw the two nurses scrolling on their phones waiting for the next appointment while there were 6 people on the stand by list. Avoid this place at all costs! The technicians here are incredibly rude and insensitive. There were only 3 people in the waiting room but they acted like it was the busiest they've ever been and if you took more than 5 minutes to get your paperwork done you're cancelled . I'm not sure why you have to check in at the kiosk when you have to provide your info a second time at the desk . The technician also seemed irritated when I informed her that my daughter has a tendency to faint during blood work . Maybe don't be a nurse if you can't be nice . DO NOT come here ! Unhelpful staff. Came in for a routine test that I've had done before and was refused care. I've come in to this location for a TB test for work several times but this time, because there was no doctor's order, I was refused. As it is for work, there is no doctor's order. I've never been asked for one before. When I asked if I could speak with someone, I was told to wait and recheck in as a walk in for someone to talk with me. Came here for a quick lab worK appointment and that's exactly what I got. The location was a bit hard to fInd at first because other online maps just give you an idea of where it's at. As a walk in I was expecting a long wait time... if I had walked in the afternoon and not right after they had opened. The check in process was easy, the waiting area was nice, and once I was finally seen (after almost 2 hours) I was out quickly. The staff seem to have a chip on their shoulder which usually means poor leadership. This place is unacceptable in my opinion. I've been in the healthcare field for 35+ years, I am a retired doctor. I was originally sent for lab work by my physician in the Century City location. I arrived at 3:30 PM, they close at 4:00 PM. The woman/phlebotomist at the front desk refused to take me in, because she said she wanted to go home early! I thought that was bad, but this location on Jefferson has no clue whatsoever how to professionally run this type of service! Upon arrival and check-in at the front desk I waited approximately 20 minutes before a live person even came to the window. Nothing short of rude, and making me feel that I was unwanted there! Absolutely terrible, inexcusable and unprofessionally run business! The owners should be ashamed of themselves especially during these tough times! I truly hope they go out of business, so nobody else hast to deal with what I and some of these other customers have stated In their reviews. read more

I went for an HIV test and they gave me some random other test...Cytomegalovirus (CMV) antibody tests???? What this is for is to detect and measure two types of antibodies: immunoglobulin M (IgM) and immunoglobulin G (IgG). The results of these tests can indicate whether a person has been infected with CMV in the past or present, and can help determine if the infection is active.....not HIV. A TERRIBLE LAB!! This was my first time there and the place and services were awesome! My appointment was 1:40 PM. I arrived (as suggested) at 1:25 PM. I went inside, used the kiosk (as directed) and logged in. That took about 5 minutes as I already pre-registered before arrival. The overhead screen showed my place in line (#2). Two nurses came out and Farah took me to room #1. She verified my ID and insurance information, asked what arm I preferred and took the samples. I was out by 1:50 PM with a band-aid. The whole process to only a few minutes (as I was prepared prior to arrival and had all of the requested documents/ID ready). Farah explained everything she was doing and made the whole process comfortable. She was friendly, efficient and a credit to Quest Technologies! Came in as a walk-in, which is supposedly allowed at this establishment ? Not one soul was in the waiting room when I arrived. Type of care, care quality, bedside manner, general politeness, efficiency all need to be improved at this location. Stopped by multiple times to try and snag a walk in appointment. Waited hours and at times there were no appointments and no other walk ins just my name on the screen and still couldn't be seen. Which is fine i expected as much from quest. Made an appointment, get there as early as they'll allow check in. Get called back and the nurse had no idea why i was there. Asked 3 times. Finally found the test the doctor had sent in. Was rude the entire time before telling me they couldn't do the test since it takes 4 hours and they're closing in that time. It was supposed to be a breath test but somehow changed to a 4 hour blood test. Rudely tells me to come back "tomorrow". I ask them if they have appointments tomorrow since i took work off for this and don't have much time off. She laughed and told me of course they don't and then sat and stared at me until i just got up and left. She didn't say another word. I've never experienced such horrible bedside manner or rudeness before at any of the other quest locations. By far the least helpful and greatest waste of time. The two technicians at the Playa Vista center must have taken extensive training in curtness, rudeness, and insensitivity. Surely they cannot have mastered these behaviors without training. Their behaviors are in addition to the onerous and needless procedures of Quest itself. Clients (eg. victims) must show an insurance card to sign up for an appointment, must have their insurance member id and the group number; the doctor's orders must also have the member number. Arriving at the office. Once the appointment is made, a QR code is sent to the hapless client who is told it will expedite sign-in at the office. It is never used or requested at the office. Instead, the client must sign in at a self-serve Kiosk because human beings are not allowed behind the reception desk, apparently. The sign-in requires both sides of the driver's license and both sides of the insurance card AGAIN. Once signed in, the client waits until someone approaches the reception desk to get the client to fill out more forms requesting the same information that has been requested online and is in the medical record. The client will again cool his heels for a while before being called back to the reception desk to AGAIN show his license and insurance card. Once allowed into the area where the lab tests are done, the lab person points to a room. The client figures out he should sit down. The technician verifies the name and date of birth and commences drawing the blood. I am 75% deaf and asked the tech to speak louder and into my not-so-bad ear. She didn't. She gave me materials for collecting further samples at home but was impatient with questions or having to repeat anything. When returning only to drop off the well-marked specimens, clients must again sign in, again show their driver's license, again show insurance card and again cool their heels while waiting. One other client is currently in the lab area where there are two techs. Called to the reception desk, the client must AGAIN show the insurance card that is then scanned AGAIN. He is told to wait while the tech takes the sample, curtly and abruptly, disappears, and finally returns to require more forms and signatures. Trying to find the corporate address to which I could address a complaint is impossible. Phone calls to the "service" line fifteen minutes before it closes will not be answered. Of course, now I could look at the bright side. For the rest of my life when chatting with friends about the worst customer service I ever experienced in my life, I will know right away what to talk about. read more
