I have always had wonderful experiences here at this location. Most noteably, every single time I've come in, the phlebotomist drawing my blood has been exceptionally friendly and personable. I've always felt like I'm chatting with someone I could be friends with which really makes the whole experience enjoyable. Marina today was no exception! While Quest is not able to give out parking validation, you can easily get that taken care of next door at CVS or across at Whole Foods. Never had a problem with that. Today, I walked in at 9am on the dot, was called in by Marina at 9:05am and was back in my car by 9:15am (including the time it took me to go inside CVS for parking validation). I came for some blood tests and had the lady confirm I was to get the glucose test for A1C. She said yes its on there. Days later, the test results didn't have it! I cannot call this actual location - I had to call some call center. They told me to ask the doctors office to add the test as they did not see it! So I had to call the doctors to add it. Unfortunately, they were NOT able to add the test to the specimen. I had to go BACK to Quest for just that test. When I got there, I got THE SAME LADY who took my blood (Africian american lady). She did not apologize, she said she couldn't confirm if the A1C test was listed on my previous visit and it was a SUPER awkward blood draw where I was about to ask for another person. However, I am realizing most of the hires here at this Quest seem a bit disgruntled or just not-so-friendly as I've been here a few times. Overall, terrible experience. I had an appointment for my 5 year old daughter to get routine blood work done and we checked in quickly and only waited like 7 minutes. Although she was a little nervous our phlebotomist Eboni was so gentle and quick that my kid didn't even notice when she was punctured until Eboni had already taken out 2 vials of blood out. They was very slammed when we came in but she was still in a good mood and chatted with us to make her feel comfortable. After we were done (tear free, drama free) she told my daughter what a good job she did and gave her a sticker. I never write reviews for anything but wanted to share my positive experience at this location (since it's SO rare to have a positive experience at Quest, or at any medical lab, lol). I have been needing to get blood drawn and happened to be in the PDR area at the afternoon opening time. I came as a walk-in/standby at 1:00 PM and was in the chair by 1:20 PM. Sarah was super professional and friendly, and just made the experience so swift, easy, and painless. As a quest patient that always sets appointments and gets there on time, the entire process feels so quick and effortless. From the moment I arrive, I check in at the kiosk and patiently wait my name to be called. On this particular occasion I was greeted by MARINA! I can't say enough about my technician. Would not recommend this location. I came here for a biometrics screening which requires two vials of blood. Tech who assisted me was unprofessional and struggled with drawing my blood. I looked down mid-draw and noticed that the needle was pointing upwards underneath my skin...like, why? I'm not a phlebotomist but I know that is not the proper procedure. She stopped and asked for the other arm noting that my blood stopped coming out...huh???? This has never happened to me in my 3 decades of living. I've just had an incredibly traumatic experience at this location. I checked in for my 3pm appointment at 3:03pm and chose the option to wait outside and be texted when it was my turn. I received the text at 3:13 and returned to the waiting area. When I was finally taken back, around 3:40, the technician told me the that the wait was because I had been called at 3:08. I showed her the text that I received at 3:13. She told me she "didn't know about those texts," and that the technicians don't control when they're sent. The conversation became contentious so I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said they didn't have a supervisor. I then asked another technician to do my blood draw because I didn't feel comfortable with the initial technician. She refused and said I would need to join the stand by list. I joined the stand by list and was finally seen at 4:06pm. At this point I was visibly upset. The technician then used a very large needle gauge, stuck my vein while my arm was still bent and said "Does that hurt?" (It did!) I feel that I have been assaulted. I administer regular injections of Ilaris to myself and have blood drawn frequently due to my autoinflammatory condition and I have never experienced anything like this. I made an appointment and it was fine/good. Got in quickly. My only complain is the place was they need to clean the floors a little more often as they seemed dusty. Other issue is all appointments are usually booked up until almost a week later. Don't know if that's really true or they are doing on purpose, but it isn't very convenient. I had an appointment for May 13th. When I arrived for my appointment, they could not find the order even though my doctor's office faxed it over the previous week. While there, I asked the doctor's office to fax it again. Quest told me that it would take up to an hour to receive it so I lost my appointment. I waited over an hour and asked if they received it so I could make a new appointment. They refused to check to see if they received it. I tried calling later to find out if the order was received but there is no way to speak to a person. The order was faxed two more times but when I had my appointment the next week, they still had not received the fax. read more

This is worst lab in the entire LA. If you have a chance to do your blood work with Labcorb or any other place I am recommending you to do so. They don't have any management there. Trying to find the parking lot was a bit much. Once inside the checkin kiosk was simple/easy, then you see your name popup on a TV that's mounted. So you see the progress of where you are in line. Once I was called to the back, Marina was the phlebotomist that took me in. She was super friendly and complimented me on my perfumes. We had a whole conversation while she was drawing my blood. My complaint is true at all Quest Labs-- no exception here. Walk-in opportunities are scarce and quirky. I waited 1.5 hrs and only when the waiting room was completely empty did they take me-- even though 3 techs were on duty for 6 appts! Staff was lovely once I got in but the kiosk and door locks mean no human contact to ask a question. Come with an appt and you're taken on time. No appt.-- don't bother! read more

I waited almost 2 hours, spoke to employees several times when they came out to call others in but since my name didn't show up on their list, they wouldn't allow me to drop off a specimen. My first time going for a blood draw outside of my doctor's office. While I didn't love having to make another appointment for yet another service provider, I did find Quest at Playa Vista to be efficient (you set up an account on their website, schedule an appointment at one of many locations, and the day / time of your appointment you check in on a kiosk and scan your ID and insurance cards. My phlebotomist was nice but clearly they're all overworked and underpaid. Somehow the lab (or the phlebotomist) *completely* missed an entire round of tests that was on the paper ordered by my doctor (CMP). I had to have another doctor's appointment to get another lab order created and now have to go back to quest AGAIN after they just missed the labs. And I'm anemic so it's not nbd to get more blood drawn. It's annoying and a waste of time and I wish I could give them all the benefit of the doubt but why can't they just get their sh*t together? Blood draws/lab tests is the one thing they do. Can't they do it well? read more

Honestly, coming here was my fault. I knew the service was bad, both from the multiple, terrible reviews and experiencing this terrible business once before. However, I figured if I took a whole day off work, even if the one worker was really late and has bad communication skills, I could hold my nose and still get my blood work done. The location is closest to where I live, after all. Nope. I underestimated how far this place could go to sabotage their own business. When I got there, five minutes before my appointment time, there were five people waiting in the lobby, but no staff anywhere. I tried to check in on the kiosk. The kiosk didn't work. Nothing. It wouldn't respond to any touch anywhere. Finally I addressed the room to find out what happened. The response was that the system was down. I interpreted that as the kiosk didn't work. One guy said he checked in online. So, I tried to go online on my phone to figure out how to do that. Couldn't find it, fyi. It might only be possible via a text or something that I never received. After about 15 minutes the staff person came out and addressed one man who she had obviously gotten a question from previously. I listened intently as she said she wasn't sure when or if she could see him, since the system was still down. As she walked away, I stopped her and asked her what that meant (she was normally no where to be found - so I jumped on the opportunity to ask her questions). I drilled down as she gave me cryptic answers to ask the bottom-line question: is she not able to take anyone's blood while the system was down? And, how long would it be down? She finally answered that she wasn't able to take anyone's labs while the system was down and she had no information on when it would be back up. It could be down all day. Wow. I was the one who informed all the patients as they walked in after that the system was down and they probably wouldn't be seen, so they shouldn't waste their time. She disappeared again. I sat here for awhile writing this review. After about another 15 minutes I saw her walk in the back office hallway and I asked her to come over so I could talk with her again. I asked her about the situation and she responded that she had no Internet and no cell service, so she couldn't even reach the company to let them know there was an issue. I asked her why she couldn't at least alert patients that their business was essentially closed during the outage. She made some excuses and I asked her, "don't you at least have a paper and pen?" I told her how if I hadn't taken a full day off just for this appointment alone (which was obviously a colossal waste of a PTO day), I would have been really pissed if I had been sitting (way longer than the scheduled appointment time) wasting time for no reason. After I asked her several times, she finally agreed to write a note. DO NOT EVER COME HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE NOTHING TO DO ALL DAY AND ENJOY SITTING AROUND WITH NO INFORMATION FOR HOURS PAST YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME. Seriously. Quest is always like this. Their system goes out frequently and they choose to only hire one person to do everything. So, there is no one to talk to once you arrive. And honestly, I'm not at all surprised since when I tried calling their office about this issue, there is no way (that I could find through their phone system) to reach a human. Their voice prompts all advise you to go to their website. The final "something else bucket" says basically it sounds like that's a you problem and then hangs up on you. SMH. read more

After reading others reviews I see that my experience today was not very different. I expected a long wait but the bad attitude and rudeness of the worker was horrible. With all the negative reviews, company must not care much because the nasty rude attitudes continue. Dont know how these people continue to hold down a job. You're better off drawing your own blood or getting a transient under an overpass to do your labs. By the time you get seen, whatever disease you were worried about will have already killed you, if old age doesn't get you first. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! Taylor kicked me out because she had to take LUNCH! Even though I had a third trimester diagnostic test due! She took my blood and asked a pregnant women to leave because she had to take lunch, even though I told her I had an appt and that I had been fasting for over eight hours! I even asked to wait for an hour so she could finish my test in its entirety but NO, that wasn't good enough! I was given an appointment and had to wait more than ten minutes. Blood-draws are stress triggers for me. After waiting longer than I should, maybe because she was the one who came in carrying coffee after 1010 am‍ When first finally called the phlebotomist asked about my Meta glasses, she asked if I was recording and I told her no. She then preceded to tell me what she couldn't proceed further although my glasses were not recording. It immediately became an issue with her. I then suggested to her why don't I remove my glasses so we could proceed and we did. She was good at her work, but she could have politely asked that I remove them rather than be passive aggressive. After collecting my blood she carelessly spilled my blood on my clothes. I don't really know if she was being passive aggressive or if it was an accident! I accompanied my sister for her blood test today. Unfortunately, according to her, getting an appointment is very difficult. The available dates and times are always scarce, and even walk-ins are not allowed. On the day of the appointment, we had to wait for more than 30 minutes in the waiting room, even though there was no one else there. The person who came out from the door was late for their appointment, but there was no apology or explanation. It was a very unpleasant experience, and I wouldn't recommend it. read more

I don't think this location is bad. I think quest is just a bad company. I've been here twice and still haven't gotten my blood drawn. First time, I was late because It took me 10 minutes to find it, and they don't see late patients. You have to rebook. I rebooked again for the same day and after waiting for an hour I left. Second time I came early and was seen right away. HOWEVER, I was told that they do do certain tests after 9am and it was 15 minutes past 9 so I would have to come back to do the test. I have never heard of a place refusing to do a test after 9am. What the hell is this that. Avoid at all costs. read more

One miserable girl seems to do everything that cannot be automated. Never had such a bad experience with a blood draw in my entire life. After jabbing me multiple times which included digging the needle around in an extremely sadistic manner, she announced she ran out of the small needles and never ordered more. Not only was she incompetent, apathy is the nicest thing I could say about her attitude and manner of speaking to me. I am bruised so badly I am going to have to wait a while before trying again at another lab. I found out later that Lab Corp is on the 3rd floor, she could have recommended them to me instead, or perhaps even in the interest of basic service and hospitality simply asked them for the smaller needle. This is a very specific review. They advertise and encourage walk-ins but have no method for serving them. I watched carefully for 1.5 hrs, they have appointments every 10 min and if someone is done quickly, they wait in the back until the next scheduled appointment has arrived. They have no intention of serving walkins. If they remove the advertisements that would be fine, but as it is currently, it's false advertising.
