My first time ever at a Labcorp clinic was today, and it was a great experience, and such a welcome relief after suffering for way too many years constantly going to that company's competitor, where I encountered way too many bad experiences, all of which got amplified 100 fold during the mandatory shutdowns. Today's visit was everything my prior experiences weren't. Instead of only 1 employee working, Labcorp had 3 workers. Instead of 12 million patients crowding inside the waiting room and spilling out outside the door in the hallway, I was the only patient in the room. Instead of arriving early and being seen late, as soon as I arrived (prior to appointment time) they took me in right away, and I was out of there before my scheduled appointment. Amazing. I get blood draws about 4 times each year, and I shall never return to Labcorp's competitor. I should've switched over to Labcorp years ago. I made a mistake staying with the other company, out of loyalty. read more

The LabCorp website clearly states this location accepts walk-ins, but this location's staff has been instructed to only accept appointments. My husband arrived at their opening time this morning and they turned him away because they were "told" to only accept appointments. Tried repeatedly to book an appointment for a test ordered by my doctor at this location. Every single time, without fail, I was sent an email on the morning of my appointment informing me that the location would be closed for the day and that I should reschedule. If you need to run a test here, just go to another location instead. read more

I had to get a TON of blood taken yesterday morning. I was the second one there and she got me right in. There was even an issue with my order but I was still in and out in less than 20 minutes (I was the second appt. so that may may a difference). The tech was SO nice, she could tell I was nervous and she distracted me the entire time. She was very skilled with the needle and I didn't even feel it when she took it out. Went here today after an absolutely horrible experience at Quest - I waited nearly 2 hours and was never seen!!. Labcorp was the total opposite. I want to leave a positive review. I came to get tested, but I got confused with the date. I had a meeting on January 29th. The receptionist took me in and took a blood test. It took less than 30 minutes. I waited for 4 hours in Quest and was not accepted!!!! I recommend LabCorp. If your doctor attempts to send you here, ask (perhaps demand) an alternate lab. LabCorp steals from patients by refusing to honor their posted business hours. You may waste a good portion of your day crossing town to bring a sample here, only to find the door locked before closing time and the employees refusing to answer. At this location (Culver City), I could hear the employees moving around the office and hiding from customers at the locked door before their posted closing time of 4 p.m. Consider the magnitude of this offense: Not only does it waste your travel time, but you may have to return to your doctor for a new sample-collection kit and re-do the entire procedure, because samples are perishable. Then there's the fact that this entire business closes "for lunch" in the middle of every workday, because apparently they're too dumb to figure out how to stagger the staff's lunch breaks like every other business on the planet. And, sure enough, it's almost 2:30 and they're still not answering the phone... despite their "lunch" officially ending at 1:30. Also, if you have no choice but to try to get work done at LabCorp, double-check any list of locations that your doctor gives you. Just don't go to this location. I walked in and two elderly people were struggling with the online check-in. The one office lady didn't even try to help. Then she left her desk for 15 minutes and was unavailable to answer questions. When I asked her a question about orders, she said she could check after she got to me, which I don't know how long it would take... It was cramped and loud. No employees were helpful. I ended up leaving, rather than sticking around to get my lab work done. I don't need to waste more time after waiting 20 minutes for people who clearly needed help to check in online. read more

I had a great experience at this location. I made an appointment online a week prior. When I got to the location I had the option of checking in online. I checked in while waiting in my car and 10 minutes later I got sent a text message saying the labcorp technician was ready to see me. I had no issues finding a parking spot around the building. There is a garage for $2.50 for every 15 minutes (I'm pretty sure that's what the sign said) but I found a free 1 hour spot around the corner. I understand how parking could be an issue because spots fill up fast. I didn't have to fill anything out because my primary physician gave me a form that was already completed, so that saved some time. They checked my insurance card and I was ready to go. Esmeralda took my blood and I felt no pain. She was extremely friendly. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes, which was awesome. I can't speak on behalf of all those who had bad experiences, but I had a really good one. Friendly people and very quick. I had an appointment at 9:15am and there were only 2 people waiting but they got in and out just as fast as I did. People saying that the place is gross and dirty.... I mean, it's not a glamorous office but I wouldn't say it's gross. It just feels a bit old. I will gladly come back to this location if I need more blood work in the future. read more

I work down the street and thought itd be convenient to use this lab for my recently ordered bloodwork. I wont bore you with the details but the place is dirty, grimey and the staff is equally incompetent and subpar. I arrived at 3:15pm and when I had questions about the $470 "estimated patient financial responsibility" form she handed me even though I have insurance, I was met with an answer that they "close at 4pm" and she didn't know. I said I needed to call my insurance to verify why the heck I MIGHT be charged $470 and she again reminded me I pretty much better hurry because they close at 4pm. When I asked for more clarification on the estimated bill, she pointed to a corporate phone number for LabCorp ....that when I called was disconnected. The techs name was Yvonne or Ivonne. I left because I felt uncomfortable and there was no way in hell I was going to let her take my blood after that. read more

Gave my cc for copay and waited in the hall (tiny waiting room) until called. Blood drawn, paid for parking, and was on my was home before my actual appointment time. Literally the worst company I have ever dealt with and it's not even this specific location. I left multiple messages requesting someone get in contact with me regarding using this service and to no avail. I went to multiple locations to be seen and no one was even in the offices. I had to get a paper showing the specific locations for my procedure and that was only provided on site from an office with no one there. They say no appointment needed and that's complete BS. I tried to get answers but to no avail. I wasted my time, money, emotional bandwidth and I cannot begin to express how livid I am with their ineptitude. I will do everything in my power to let everyone know what a sub par company this is. I've never been so upset as this at any business in my life. Whenever I have to get routine lab work, I hop on my bike and go to LabCorp. The office is located in a multi-story medical building. When you arrive, there's a clipboard to sign in on, and generally a brief wait. The way this place seems to work is that one person runs the whole show. They check you in, verify your insurance, assign you a room and then sample your precious, bodily fluids. The last few times I've gone in, the gentleman running things quickly got me in queue and out in about fifteen minutes. Once in the room, he behaved in a playful, but professional manner, chatting about the weather as he prepared to do his work, which he does quickly and efficiently. Putting someone at ease in a place like this, is really important. Why not five stars? The waiting room could be a little more comfortable - it's small and kind of cramped. Dirty and dated office, which is really surprising because the building is brand new. The first time I went here to collect a urine sample for a routine health test and they gave me a Dixie cup with the coffee lid. I asked if this was normal and they said that "they were just out of the normal cups but that should be fine." Hmm..OK sure All of the rooms are dirty and dated with holes in the wall and trash littered around. I felt like I might actually get sick being here. I got a call from my doctor saying that I had to go back because they weren't able to collect enough of a sample. This was really strange since their "Dixie cup"was plenty filled. I suspect they're bad practice just spilled it somehow. I would avoid this place because it's dirty, and unprofessional. read more

lets just say my arm still hurts from getting blood drawn out. It never hurt like this before. I usually have good service. Today, a short lady (30's or early 40s) was suppose to help me. She seemed to be in suuuuuch a rush, it was a little out of the ordinary. Part of me wanted to leave, but the other part of me said everything would be okay. Although, sure, the facility needs an upgrade (ps, all lab offices are tiny), more importantly the phlebotomists are AMAZING - especially Esmeralda, Marcy, and Jocelyn. Really kind, helpful, easing me, and making my day brighter. No kidding. They are reliable, caring, and experienced. But more than that, they are nurturing, warm, kind-hearted, and even cheerful when it gets busy. I think the staff in the bad reviews below must have had a bad day, because it is NOT the norm. Believe me. I have to have my blood drawn every two weeks. I was a long-time client of Quest Diagnostics (in Century City & Sherman Oaks) until my insurance changed and I had to change where I do my blood. I was nervous. I chose this LabCorp on Hughes Ave (despite some of the lower reviews) and I was surprised. It is SO much better than Quest I can't even tell you. And the check-in (once you get how to work the machine) is so efficient and fast. I've worked with a lot of labs at different locations in the LA area over the years and I can honestly say that this staff - especially Esmeralda, Marcy, and Jocelyn - are perhaps the very best. Even though I get my blood drawn often, I confess that I'm still nervous about needles. I have to lay down or I faint (how embarrassing.) And these ladies are always so nurturing and understanding, and have such WONDERFUL 'bed-side manner'. They are soothing and supportive. (And I have never even felt the needle - yet.) Among many other things, they are not only thoroughly knowledgeable about what they're doing, they go OUT OF THEIR WAY to help me when I'm more anxious than usual. They work VERY quickly and yet you feel as if you are the most important patient to them. They are gems for LabCorp (and I hope they're recognized.) I, like most patients/clients, have many opportunities to go elsewhere to get our lab work done, shop elsewhere, including Quest or Universal Diagnostic Lab, UCLA, WellnessMart, Tender Touch (what a name!), even the mobile labs, but I choose to come here. The lab itself looks horrendously dirty and unsanitary. The room where they draw your blood looks like it could use a good spring cleaning. I suggest opting for the disposable paper covered bed vs. the chair due to the unsavory and unpleasant smelling people I had the misfortune of sharing the waiting room with. All the equipment they use is sealed and sterilized. Everything they use to take your blood is clean and disposable. This was the only thing that kept me from running out of the lab. I was very surprised with how quick and painless my blood draw was. The woman who took my blood was very sweet and gentle. It took the edge off from the man who was about to go postal in the waiting room while screaming at his doctor over the phone the whole 15 minutes I was there. I've heard Quest is a much nicer and cleaner lab, so I will opt for this next time. read more

This isn't a review of just this particular location, but my recent experience with them. My hell started with making an online appt for my 4-year-old daughter. I clearly noted that this would be a "pediatric draw" on the form. I show up at the appropriate time only to be told there were no butterfly needles and that there was a shortage. He then tells me I could try calling another location to see if they had them and hands me a sheet. I call the BH location and get a recorded msg and no way to get a live person. Then I call Culver City and get the same. Since I already pulled my daughter from preschool and took the AM from work, I go to Culver City. First nurse sticks a needle into my daughter's arm and gets nothing. So she wiggles the needle causing my daughter to scream. Still nothing, so she gets the other nurse to take over and my daughter is now sobbing uncontrollably. In the end, my daughter to needles in both arms to get tested and I will tell her doctor to find us another lab. read more

Don't go there for any blood work. The staff is rude and not helpful with there new sign in procedures, it took a full 30 mins for me to get to the machine to sign in, they only have one. The person ahead of me was slow, slow, slow. The parking is not free and that's where the real complaint is about. The staff was slow, the sign in was long and the parking is free for the first 15 mins. after that it's a flat fee of $8.00 even if you are 1 minute over the 15 minute max allowed. If you go there for blood work you will always go over the 15 mins. so plan to spend $8.00 on parking every time you go there. LABCORP should pay for parking read more

Very poor service and waited over 30 mins past my appointment time. Really no use in making appointments if company is not following. There was 6 people in the waiting room and 2 appointments on the log and when I got called there was 1 person in the waiting room. What a waste of time to make an appointment. The lady in the front Marcy (maybe) straight out lied. I ask her why people are getting called before the appts and she said umm umm. Oh yeah he had an appt before you. I look at the log under the guy name and no appt check off in the box. I'm going to find another lab but I'm sure lapcorp doesn't care since they are so busy. read more

Hughes Avenue LabCorp... welcome to yelp. This is my first one star rating and it goes to you! No LabCorp experience is pleasant, nobody likes to go there or be there.. especially people like me who borderline faint during their visit.. but does your customer service have to suck too?? Other LabCorps I've been to have had inexperienced people drawing blood & unsuccessfully poking me but at least they were NICE. I had an AWFUL experience here today thanks to the extremely rude man who was working there. I left work early to get here at about 4:45pm (they close at 5:30), with my paperwork. I lost my insurance card a few weeks ago BUT had a photo front to back of it on my phone and that was just fine when I was at a doctor's office 2 weeks ago- I just emailed it to them off of my phone no problem. LabCorp's policy is that you need to have the card with you. The man immediately said, if you don't have your card we won't take you but if you can get your doctor's office to fax a copy of your insurance to us that will work. I asked him what was the difference between that and me e-mailing him the PHOTO of my insurance card front and back and him printing it.. he didn't seem to like my question. He replied "ma'am I just work here I don't make the rules". I understood where he was coming from, companies have weird rules, but had he been more intelligent & polite he would've understood that printing my photo is the exact same thing as an insurance card copy, even more legit since it's in color! Anyways, I sat down and tried to call my doctor's office. My doctors office put me on hold so I was sitting there holding my phone to my head facing that man face-to-face and he rudely says "excuse me.. we're not taking you in unless you can fax your insurance so what are you going to do?", I was CLEARLY on the phone waiting and he knew it.. so I just answered him that I was on hold. Seemed like he was rushing me so he could shut the office 30 min early and peace out. Just my luck, my doctors office failed to be able to print my insurance information (something w/ the computer) so I got up, kept my anger in, and kindly said to the man "my doctor's office can't print it but thanks anyways", and he straight up IGNORED ME, he also ignored me when I told him I was on hold and that I would let him know soon. Not only did I leave work early but I also had to skip my gym class.... PISSED. I had a lab order faxed over here and, when I called 2 weeks later, they lost the order. I got it faxed again, and they lost it a second time!! The last time I went here to have blood drawn, one of the women working was sick with a bad flu. Her eyes were red and she was coughing and looked quite sick. She had no business being at work- inexcusable! LabCorp says that an appointment isn't necessary and that they're open until 4pm. One time I was here 2 hrs before I had to give up and leave for work, I was told if u make an appointment they take you in immediately before others. Not so as I was told two patients, without appts, had been waiting 45 min. So yes, again I will be late for work as I still sit here....... I can think of a few things I enjoy more than having my blood tested, Nonetheless when it has to be done, it's best if quick, clean and as pain-free as possible. Last week I had six vials taken for a comprehensive series of tests and I was amazed at how good the phlebotomist was; so good in fact that I had to look twice at the needle in my arm to confirm that it was in there. Why? Because I literally did not feel it going it - okay I felt it ever-so-slightly but I'm not exaggerating in the slightest when I say; there was ZERO pain. Either LabCorp uses amazing sharp needles, or Harold, who was drawing my blood. is the true Angel of Phlebotomy - (or both!) Either way, if I ever need blood testing, and Harold moves to another location, THAT is where I'll be driving to have my blood drawn. He is that good! /rjj read more

All I can say is they failed to run 15 blood tests the Dr. had asked them to run. That is pretty pathetic.
