I'm wondering how many of the complainers are those who didn't make appointments and had to wait an extra long time or perhaps have confused this location with another. Been being diagnosed by Quest technicians--at Several different locations--and have experienced various levels of satisfaction with the service I've received. A week ago, I called around Pasadena and found that most Quest labs were booked weeks ahead. Searching about, I found one on Green Street in Pasadena that had a couple of openings. To my dismay, my wife and I checked them out and discovered they have been maligned pretty badly by folks who claimed to be former clients. Because I am routinely suspicious of negative critics, I ignored what I read and scheduled a 3:00 p.m. appointment for today. When I arrived, I checked in at 2:59 without fanfare...and was called in by Karen at exactly 3:00. No delay. No rudeness. No bad anything. 3.5 stars. I was in the area and wanted to see if i can just walk-in and do my bloodwork. I realized I left my wallet in the car, but wanted to at least check myself in so id be in the queue. The self kiosk wouldnt take any digital cards, so I waited until the tech came out to let them know im here as a walk-in, that I will BRB because I needed to grab my wallet from the car. Thats why its 3.5 stars and not a 4. There was another lady that was a walk-in that had been there longer and she kept checking with the tech when her turn would be because she had been waiting for quite some time. She didnt seem like she was having a good experience. I knew it would take some time to be seen, so I was ready for the 30 min or 1 hr time frame. I had nothing else to do or be for the next 2 hours. This was a convenient stop so I waited no longer than 30 minutes and out in the same time. The tech was really nice and I provided her with information that was the best of drawing blood from me. This place is unimaginably awful. They have put a shield up over the entry desk so that you can't see anyone or talk to anyone. You must sign in with an iPad and wait even if you want to drop off a sample. We waited an hour and 45 minutes to hand them a sample. Obviously it must be better to have an appointment but nobody else in my recent memory requires an appointment for a drop off. And there was hardly anybody waiting in the waiting area. I entered the parking lot from Catalina. There is a booth with an attendant at the entrance. A directory is posted on the side of the building. Quest is located near the directory. When you enter there is a kiosk that is used for check-in. My name was called quickly (they accept walk-ins with wait times between 30 minutes and two hours). I was directed to an exam room. Karen took all necessary information and took the appropriate samples gently and efficiently, taped my arm, and had me on my way. As I left a few people were waiting and most appeared to have appointments. The lot had ample parking at the time I was there in the afternoon. I paid the attendant at the booth. I tried to do a walk in here for seemingly common blood work my doctor gave me. It was almost completely empty when I arrived. I signed up on their screen to do wait list. There were maybe 2 people who were there. They got taken. Someone who worked here came out and said wait list would likely not be able to be seen because they "didn't know if staff was coming in". I tried to see if I could make an appointment for this day because it's literally empty in here as I write this (see photo). Anyways, I'm going to wait a few more minutes as I didn't want to have fasted for no reason. Somehow despite having about one person in here they don't have almost any way to do simple blood work. But id recommend making an appointment and not coming to this place as they don't seem to have a grasp on what services they can provide or when they can provide. I'd give zero stars if I could. I agree 100% with all the previous commenters. Rude and unprofessional attitudes all around. But they are also terrible at the ACTUAL job. The lady asked if I did well at blood draws and I told her I do not. I think she asked to spite me because she then gave me the most painful blood draw I've ever had. When I told her she was hurting me, she pressed even harder! Then half way through she randomly stopped the blood draw and told me I have to come back another day to finish, because SHE felt uncomfortable. And she left a GIANT bruise. Not only is it practically impossible to make an online appointment because their system either has a glitch which will not allow you to submit the form to make an appointment, nor does their customer service email work either they keep bouncing back. I finally went in person to wait as a standby and the tech informed those in the waiting room they wouldn't be seen after 4. As I was trying to explain the difficulty in making the appointment she said to me , " you know you're taking up the other patient's time right now?" So wholly unprofessional. If there is not a system for quest diagnostics to interface with their patients you cannot condemn others for the time needed to do your job which was to inform the walk ins we were out of luck. It's about managing expectations with empathy. Kindness goes a long way. I understand you have systems and need to close at 4 but training your staff to extend a modicum of empathy or manners would be beneficial for your business because people would feel positive about using your services. As it is now I loathe quest diagnostics and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Here's a valuable tip, if you need an employment drug screening, and there are no appointments available, arrive just before 10am, sign in on their machine, and use the option that lets you get on a waiting list. & you will have to wait, but you will be seen in the same day! In the beginning of October, I came to get testing done for my new job. Around lunchtime, the workers started telling everyone to get out because they needed to get lunch. Okay, understandable. However, I turned around to ask KATHY (eyelash extensions, decrepit, short black hair, Caucasian) what time we should come back and she told me she didn't know. I turn around and this lady PUSHES ME THROUGH THE DOOR FRAME WITH THE DOOR. I turn around grab the door handle and tell her, "Uh, hello, you're pushing me with the door." I get that everyone's eager to eat lunch and get a break, so I told her that to call attention to what she was doing because me, stupidly, thought she didn't know what she was doing. Do you think she apologized? No, of course not. She actually PUSHES ME AGAIN AND SLAMS THE DOOR IN MY FACE. I was so shocked and confused. Since October I've been calling Quest customer service, trying to get some kind of retribution for having been assaulted by one of their workers not once, but TWICE. I have multiple ticket numbers from every time I've called, and every time I'm told how sorry they are for my experience and that the supervisor will get back to me. Never has anyone EVER gotten back to me. My advice? PLEASE DON'T GO HERE. Don't go to ANY Quest but ESPECIALLY not this one. 1 star is too much. No empathy. No sense of customer service. No care whatsoever. The attitude is appalling. They are obviously used to unhappy customers, because they have a sign posted asking customers to be "kind" to the employees. They don't take walk-ins at ALL anymore, in any of the locations. Quest should make this crystal clear on their website, which is confusing with language like: "Make an appointment now and you'll have little to no wait time when you arrive. Appointments take priority over walk-ins." That sentence is right at the top of their website when you click the first "Make an appointment" button, but it doesn't make any sense if appointments are now actually MANDATORY. I found this out from a lady at the front, who was fine but not very sympathetic or helpful otherwise. They also don't offer or are able to do any scheduling to help you in the location either. Trying to make appointments online myself, again, at another location resulted in multiple glitches and being unable to schedule an appointment. Disappointed because I used to appreciate Quest for their technology as a patient, being able to see results and log into an account. Parking: find street parking because they are in a private lot that charges per 15 min. They are allowing walk-in. Online says they are by appointment only but they are due to COVID. You can check in on the tablet. Make sure your name shows up on the tv. They will text you when it is your turn. The waiting room is small so I suggest waiting outside. The staff team can be a bit rough around the edges so don't hold it against them if they are rude or grumpy. They are essential workers and should be recognized! read more

No customer service whatsoever. Calling the number listed for this location will only get you to an automated system. I had questions prior to my visit that I was never able to ask. I even stopped by the location beforehand but wasn't able to speak to anyone because there is no front desk receptionist. The tech was unfriendly and made me feel like a lab rat. Other people's blood samples sitting out in a small room that felt so extremely clinical. It was a bizarre experience. The employees were two female women one in green scrubs with a claw clip on and one in blue scrubs with black shirt hair. They do bot acknowledge the patients. People are checked in through the tablet and some people waited since 8am as walk in and have been fasting to a blood withdrawn and have not been seen. FAIR WARNING: THEY DO NOT TAKE WALK-IN AT ALL. Despite, them saying, "we do not guarantee that we will see you today as walk-in." I came at 10am as walk in for drug screening and I have been waiting until 1pm and have not been seen nor acknowledged me for waiting for too long. This location has literally zero availability and customer service is non-existent. I was notified by a new employer I had 48 hrs to get a drug screen- called this location and they had nothing for about 36-48 hours which was cutting it close. Moreover they only complete drug tests for about 4-5 hours per day. With the limited hours and limited appointments I don't understand why they even do screenings at all. When you arrive there is no receptionist- just an iPad and no one speaks to or helps you until your name is called. If you need help you can ask for it... on the iPad and again no one ever actually assists you. Quest needs to look at this business model- maybe have one location that only does pre-employment drug screens... there are literally 4 or more locations in Pasadena but none do drug screens read more

I should write that this Quest is really bad so no one will go there when I want to go there. But I would be lying. This is the only Quest I will go to, when i am in the area. Have been here many times over more than ten years. If you go during/after covid, you will want to make an appointment if possible, since this is a very popular Quest. Now that they have a virtual check in Kiosk, there is no one at the front counter, and walk-ins are very limited, except for picking up testing supplies or dropping off samples. Walk-in's were eliminated to help maintain social distancing within their relatively small waiting room. The testing staff here have always been nice, however, for a few years they did have a very mean front counter employee who they have since eliminated. Checking in for a "Walk-in", if any appointments have cancelled, or checking in for your appointment is all done through an electronic Kiosk. It's not very informative or helpful when you are using it to check in for the first time. It requires scanning a government ID front and back in a somewhat unusual way. It's a poorly designed check in system. The lead technician Kathy, is very professional and friendly. They used to validate parking in the past, but they no longer do, but usually if you plan your appointment time well, you can find street parking about a block a way, if you do not mind walking. I tried to go to a different Quest location last week that accepted walk-ins, and I eventually had to leave because it was taking so long even though I had an appointment. Coming here was night and day. I arrived early and was taken back almost immediately after checking in from my car. They did not want to explain the procedure to me and when they sent me home with a random tube, i asked what I have to do. I came to this location for my annual bloodwork and only chose to come to quest since my doctor requested a specific test by quest. I came in as a walk-in and completed my registration online so I can be on my way sooner. After waiting for an hour, the phlebotomist was very slow and couldn't pull up my file. My main complaint here is that I left after two hours without getting my bloodwork done. I'm disappointed in the time I spent here and they were unqualified to take my blood and then the supervisor refused to try. Luckily I went to another clinic right after and I waited 15 minutes and the phlebotomist was able to retrieve my blood after one try. I was also very disappointed when they turned a mother away because she was with her 2 year old child and it is not allowed. So rude ! read more
