The phlebotomist wasn't careful, first-the wrong kind of needle was used, it should be the butterfly but what was used was the big needle; second- she didn't even check or palpate the area for the right vein, it happened so fast that she just poke me right away and when she didn't get the right vein, she "played" the needle inside my vein. She was so confident because she said people gave her good reviews, however, best practices should always be followed no matter how good she thinks she does her work. read more

This office seems to be very busy, so definitely wear a mask. Several people were hacking. The staff was great and professional proving quality care for blood draws in this high production environment. their automated text system had me come back 20 minutes before my appointment time, because being called next was imminent, all to wait till my appointment time because people showed up just in time, as i will next time. read more

Your AI answering service doesn't provide me with the human responses I need to simply set up an early morning appointing for a fasting full panel blood test. I and many other people do not interact well with AI and prefer talking to a human being. thank you for nothing. Phillip Molina read more

Clean location with an impressively quick checkin process through the 3 kiosks. Patients are moved through the list relatively expeditiously. Had an appointment schedule for 8:40 I was served at 8:46. Pretty good. Maybe a slow day but overall a very positive experience read more

Hate having to get lab work done but I made an appointment ahead of time and got a text to check in before my appointment. It was super easy. In n Out. My phlebotomist was kind and gentle making it easy to relax. This is by far one of my favorite locations when I have to visit Quest. read more

There's no one present at the desk wheh you first enter. I checked in via my phone but you can also check in at one of the monitors in office. I checked in early as my appt was at 1:10 pm and was called in about 15 mins later. Typically, it takes 5 mins at most, so they may be low staffed. The Phlebotomist that helped me today was nice. She was a bit into her phone but who isn't nowadays just thought it was odd. I had not been here in awhile but my annual check up is coming up and so here I am. I have been coming to this quest for years and the customer service has gone now tremendously. I do like that I can schedule my spots online and check in via phone. It's easier than trying to schedule with my doctor's office like I used to. It's clean and that's also really important. read more

Several days ahead, I made an appointment for blood work. I chose a 12:00 appointment and showed up 20 minutes early. They would not let me check in until 11:50 and I went into the lobby and people were still waiting for their 11:15 appointments. About 15 customers. This is the worst service imaginable! read more

I made an appointment online, checked in on my phone when I arrived, and waited 30 minutes passed my scheduled appointment time, but was never called up. I tried checking in again to make sure I was on the list, but this time, the system told me my appointment didn't exist. There was no one in the lobby to assist me, so I tried calling Quest's phone support, which was automated and hung up on me, claiming technical difficulties. This was a very negative and frustrating experience, and a complete waste of my time. I will be trying Pacific Diagnostics Labs next time. read more

I was seen right at my appointment time with Marie. She was kind and efficient and found my vein on the first attempt. Such a relief and I'm so grateful. She was very friendly and understanding and I'm thankful for people like her in this field. read more

The lab tech that assisted me was kind, gentle and knowledgeable. I'll be going back for any future lab work.

They are awful and rude people. They don't honor appointment times, they don't care about anyone's health or situations and I would never ever suggest coming to any quest locations ever. I opted to get texted to notify me of being called and I got my text and came in and they said because I didn't answer when she called my name she just canceled my appointment. Then she said I would have to register as a walk in and wait another hour. They were already 30 mins late with my appointment and then made me wait even longer. Then the manager refused to come speak to me or even try to help me. read more

Made appointment and was required to have Photo ID, insurance card, and now CREDIT CARD upfront to have labs taken. NOT!!! Had too many billing errors with Quest over the years. Have Quest bill for the money rather then force you to seek a refund if mis-billed. Speak up about this practice wherever encountered as insurance and settling medical bills is always after the encounter with exception of copays and coinsurance. There are alternative providers that don't require collateral. I SWITCHED LABS, and hope others will follow. Also consider the lab is not posting pricing upfront and surprise billing is common, then consider that sinking feeling when you have already been charged by the time you get your statement in the mail. Thanks for reading this and considering other providers! read more

Make sure you have an appointment before going here. The place is packed. They contract with many employers conducting drug testing. Once here, staff is good at getting you processed through. Blood draws are done by professional phlebotomist, so it's not a training ground. Stay safe!! read more

This location gives excellent care! The technicians are friendly and knowledgeable. I like the onsite check in too.

Completely confusing and cumbersome system whereby you don't get to talk to a human being. Everything is computerized. When you step into one of their labs, you have to sign in on a tablet with confusing instructions and you don't know if you have an appointment or not. This review is specifically for Noel. I am very sensitive and have had issues when getting my blood drawn before. I let Noel know my concerns and how previously a butterfly needle has been needed to properly find my vein and draw blood. He listened, was patient and amazing when drawing my blood. I also am usually left with a huge bruise but not this time. Thank you Noel and Quest team for making this a fast and easy visit. read more

Regarding the location on Lombard Street: I would give it to zero stars if I could. Had an experience several months ago where I went to get blood drawn as I regularly do for my glucose levels. After being called into the room, I realized the long sleeve undershirt was not going to allow the blood draw, so I left the room and went into the restroom to remove it to make my arm available for the blood draw and came back in to the room partially undressed. I have a disability, so I am self-conscious about removing clothing in front of people so I asked if, the door could be closed and the young person helping me agreed. The manager barged in and in a very rude, condescending and accusatory tone demanded that the door remain open. Neither I, nor the young person attending to me could understand her odd behavior. If I was advised at the beginning, there was a policy against closing the door I would have not have asked. Oddly, there must be some sort of privacy violation, keeping the door open with a partially undressed man inside. It's kind of weird because the offices are set up just like doctors offices where doctors keep the door closed during the examination. I guess I assumed it was a similar arrangement until this event. It was a very uncomfortable experience. Likely this employee needs to seek counseling with a therapist to deal with any unresolved childhood trauma. She is clearly triggered by men and inappropriately projects her experience into unrelated situations. I'm sorry for whatever it is that she experienced that made her this way, but she has psychological issues that need to be addressed or this will continue to happen. I brought this situation up to Maria, her manager, but ultimately my complaint seems to have fallen on deaf or unresponsive ears; this location continues to get bad reviews. I'm surprised Quest has not shut this location down. At the very least, the office dynamic would be a good location for a case study on how to not treat paying customers. And yet, I have to give kudos to the young person that was trying to help me, and eventually did draw my blood. She remained professional and kind throughout the whole weird process. I wish I could remember her name. As for me I continue to visit quest centers for my blood draw and I've never had a problem at any of these centers except for Lombard location and I've been doing this regularly for close to 10+ years now. Today, I went to my regular location at Seventh Street and they are the best; Stephanie helped me today and she was very proficient, kind and professional. If I ever have no choice, but to return to Lombard location, I will take my wife with me of 34 years to avoid this kind of crap situation. read more

Great service here! I was a bit nervous with the mixed reviews but I decided to give it a shot since it was close by my work. I had an appointment at 7:40, checked in at 7:42, waited about 10 min . The girl that helped me was very apologetic for the wait and said because of the time change coming up, their system overbooked everyone and they were unable to cancel appointments. I told her no problem, completely understood. She was very friendly and talkative . She showed me my vials with my name on them before she put them in the tray for processing. She was very clear with instructions for everything else. I will definitely come back here. read more

Your company has gone from caring to thoughtless. I made an appt and waited over 40 min. Please tell me why anyone should make an appt if it is not honored? I walked out. I made a second appt again to complete bloodwork and pick up specimen test. After waiting 15 minutes (yes, after making an appointment)I learned then that this specimen would require YET ANOTHER APPT JUST FOR DROP OFF! Livid at how horribly a sick and old a person was being treated by the poor organization of this company, I completed the specimen tests and made an appt---waited over twenty minutes before I learned the lab tech had trouble finding the lab work . After 30 minutes, I left - WHAT HAPPENED TO THE QUALITY FUNCTION OF YOUR COMPANY? Try treating sick folks with dignity by rethinking how folks (usually sick folks) are served. There should be efficient times AND easy drop off (no appt) with paperwork included WITH lab specimens - If I can find another system for having my lab done, I will. Came in to drop off a urine sample, was told at Santa Paula location I was able to drop off at any location. I asked a staff member here if I needed to wait just to double check and she responded so rudely. It was uncomfortable. She raised her voice to me with a lobby full of people "YOU NEED TO WAIT" "YOU WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF AFTER ALL OUR APPOINTMENTS" it was a simple question. Why was there a need to explode on me. Tone of voice and demeanor was enough. There is much better ways to answer the question than what she did. Some people should not be in the medical field. Proper re-training of human kindness and patience should be retouched at this location. 0/10. My experience at Quest, 1701 Lombard St, Oxnard was great. I arrived before my appointment time and sign-in was easy with several sign-in stations present. Just used this location for the second time this week, I usually go to a different one because it is closer to my home. I have to say, the staff here is terrific, the place is clean, organized and a little less claustrophobic than the other location. The woman who took my blood a couple of days ago was great, I unfortunately did not get her name. The technician who took my blood today was Kelsey. She was terrific, had questions for my doctor and spent the time to call and double check some things. There was no rushing me through the building. I'll be coming back to this one for sure. I'm not a big needle fan, but they're very gentle here. read more

If I could give this place no stars, I would. I showed up with no appointment just now and I continued to walk in that they welcome walk ins by the door. There was nobody inside so I checked in myself with the kiosk machine. 10 mins later, someone shows up and scolds me for not having an appointment that they do not take in walk ins on Saturday. I let them know that - that's not what it says on the door and she mentions that they accept walk in except on Saturdays. I also told her that there's nobody here why couldn't she just help me? She was so RUDE btw at this point. She could've communicated all of this in a nicer tone hence I wouldn't be leaving this horrible yelp review!!! Don't come here!! Honestly, based on the rest of the reviews, it sounds like everyone hates working here. They might as well just close it. She told me that she has another patient walking in - in 10 mins! I literally sat outside for 15 mins in my car and did not see anyone walk in! If you hate your job, just leave and don't take it out on patients please. She ruined my Saturday morning!!! read more

The organization as a whole. No walk ins???? Was at the facility an hour before it opened. First in line and they refused to let me fill in. How long does it take to get blood drawn? I tried to call the facility the day before but was repeatedly told nobody was available to answer the call. This was at 10:30 am on a week day. The website is impossible to find answers on. This automated world Quest has embraced is disappointing. Thankful my blood work wasn't a stat situation. Quest Diagnostics, probably the worst back office I have ever experienced in my long lifetime. Signed up for auto payments while in office for lab work, had to change the credit card to an HSA debit card and have been transferred to 6 different representatives before getting transferred out of Quest entirely to a 3rd party that had no record of me in their system. Zero stars for the RUDE woman who was working the desk. I went in to have bloodwork done as per my doctor. I am what they call a "tough draw". This means it is difficult to find a vein when drawing blood. Often the tech has to poke me several times and while I try to be patient, it eventually starts to hurt. Last time I was at this location, I had to come back a second day because nobody at the place the first time was able to find a vein on me. They recommended that I return and ask for a woman by a specific name (which I cannot remember now, darn it). So, I came back the next day and asked for that woman. She did a bang-up job of drawing blood. I vowed to remember her name for my next visit, but as I said, I forgot it. So, I went in today and asked the woman at the counter if she knew of one specific tech who was the one the others turned to if they had a difficult draw. She said "well, they're all good". I replied, 'yes, but I have difficulties and I had the name of a woman from my previous visit - I think I might remember if I heard her name again.'. The woman apologized and seemed to refuse to help me further with my concerns. I told her "if it were YOUR arm that they twisted the needle round and round inside, you might be a little bit more helpful.'. Her response was "you should have remembered her name"!!! I was pretty shocked at her treatment but said nothing. Four stars for Melissa who just happened to be the tech who worked on me. I told her of my concerns and she was able to get a successful stick the first time. I've made a memo on my iPhone so next time I won't have to worry about remembering anyone's name. And to the woman at the desk - shame on you. Your customer service is terrible. read more

The last time I went here I made an appointment on Sept 2012. I had to fast (no food after midnight beforehand). I arrived about 10 minutes early. The place was packed. Good thing I had an appointment, right? Well, there was a newbie at the front desk who was not paying attention to the sign in sheet. I told him I had an appt. He screwed up again by not placing my paperwork in the next room. I was wondering why my name wasn't being called to get my blood drawn. Goodness sakes! I remember an older patient complaining that she had to wait so long. She was also fasting (was tired & hungry). I felt sorry for her. Training a newbie during morning rush hour is the worst time. Ha! Yes, I was hungry, frustrated, & tired during the whole ordeal. I never went back whenever I had to fast. Foundation Lab on Ventura Rd was so much better. read more

This location is a lot better than the one in Ventura. The staff is always really nice and efficient. You must make an appointment to have a fast, pleasant experience. Otherwise you may wait a long time or be turned away. I have been to this location four times in the past few months and always a great experience especially with the blood draw. Each phlebotomist did a great job the first time and I had minimal bruising. This is the only lab I will go to for blood draws. read more
