First of all Quest is questionable to begin with. Their methods and training is so poor compared…read moreto others. The technician at Andover's location is terrible. I've been twice and she has left my lower arm completely bruised and swollen. This is because of the way she inserts the needle, it breaks the vein from underneath and causes bruising everywhere. I usually go to UCLA, and now, when in MA, I will go to The Laboratory in N Andover. The tech there used the same butterfly needle as Quest and I had zero marks on my arm.

I preregistered the night before on the Quest Diagnostics website, which made check-in at the kiosk in the office lobby an extremely simple process. The two people at the check-in kiosk before me had to navigate through the screens, and it did not appear too difficult for someone mildly computer savvy. The person behind the counter will help you with it, if you have trouble, according to a note next to the kiosk. Here's how to find the office: It is located in an older office park with two buildings separated by a wooded area that completely blocks the view of the other building, so you may have to do some driving around to locate Quest. (1) Find the building with "Andover Surgery Center" on the front of it (the sign is partially obscured by a tree). (2) Quest Diagnostics is in unit 138, which is located to the left of the Andover Surgery Center sign. The number "138" is posted on the door, but there is no Quest sign. (3) Go through this exterior door and turn left. (4) Go through the hallway door and there are signs for the Elevator on your right. (5) Take the Elevator to the second floor. (6) Exit the Elevator, and "Quest Diagnostics" is across the lobby on the left. Their name is on the door.

Had an ultrasound in January. Check-in was seamless and efficient in Bedford once you get to the…read moreoffice (however the building is confusing and organized strangely so go a little early to navigate). The technician saw me promptly and was professional and courteous. No complaints here. Making an appt on the phone had been challenging because they are switching their systems so calls are taking longer understandably. Had an issue with an order not having been received by Derry Imaging though I had them send it twice. I called yesterday and spoke with a delightful woman named Rene. She couldn't find the order either but apologized and said it was probably a system issue and if I could contact my doctor to have them send it one more time but to her attention. She said she'd call me back once she got it and make my appt. Rene did just that. She got my order. Called me back. Made my appt and did it with such friendliness courtesy and genuine regard for me. THIS is customer service. Old-fashioned 'let me help you out let me see what I can do for you' customer service. THANK YOU RENE for going above and beyond the entire time. She was just so nice about everything and it's so rare to encounter that nowadays. Give this woman a raise because trust me, she's a rare gem!

I am now in need of annual breast MRI's and this was one of a very short list of providers that was covered by my insurance. When I called to schedule, I was told the location I wanted to go to, Bedford, did not do breast MRI's and I would have to go to Londonderry. I was given zero pre-appointment information other than to confirm the date/time and location of my appointment. 2 days before my appointment, i received a call telling me the equipment in Londonderry was broken and they needed to reschedule me for Bedford. When I questioned the location in light of what I had previously been told, the person calling seemed annoyed with me. He then went on to tell me they do them in Bedford but the equipment isn't as good. So I then asked him for more clarification regarding the appointment to understand the differences. He once again became annoyed. I finally had to say, "this is my health and I would like to have the information so I would be able to make the best decisions possible for my own health and wellbeing." That finally seemed to do the trick and the person slowed down and willingly answered my questions. Ultimately, I rescheduled for Bedford. Then the person gave me several instructions like don't wear lotion or deodorant, information I had not previously been given. This was my first breast MRI, so important info to be aware of! I continued to receive text reminders about the original appointment, then the day before the original appointment, I received a call to reschedule it as though the first call I had received never happened. She then told me I had no other appointment on the books. So I told her the date/time that had been confirmed the day prior. She then said oh, yeah, you have an appointment. But she then told me a different arrival time than the person the day before. When I questioned it, she got snarky with me saying "it is only a 5 minute difference." I guess their time is more valuable than mine! Hopefully their imaging techs/doctors are far better than their administration team!
