First of all Quest is questionable to begin with. Their methods and training is so poor compared to others. The technician at Andover's location is terrible. I've been twice and she has left my lower arm completely bruised and swollen. This is because of the way she inserts the needle, it breaks the vein from underneath and causes bruising everywhere. I usually go to UCLA, and now, when in MA, I will go to The Laboratory in N Andover. The tech there used the same butterfly needle as Quest and I had zero marks on my arm. read more

The service was quick and painless. The technician was personable and professional. I was in and out in under ten minutes. I preregistered the night before on the Quest Diagnostics website, which made check-in at the kiosk in the office lobby an extremely simple process. The two people at the check-in kiosk before me had to navigate through the screens, and it did not appear too difficult for someone mildly computer savvy. The person behind the counter will help you with it, if you have trouble, according to a note next to the kiosk. Here's how to find the office: It is located in an older office park with two buildings separated by a wooded area that completely blocks the view of the other building, so you may have to do some driving around to locate Quest. (1) Find the building with "Andover Surgery Center" on the front of it (the sign is partially obscured by a tree). (2) Quest Diagnostics is in unit 138, which is located to the left of the Andover Surgery Center sign. The number "138" is posted on the door, but there is no Quest sign. (3) Go through this exterior door and turn left. (4) Go through the hallway door and there are signs for the Elevator on your right. (5) Take the Elevator to the second floor. (6) Exit the Elevator, and "Quest Diagnostics" is across the lobby on the left. Their name is on the door. read more

Made an apt, went in, signed in, and was taken right on time. Easy blood draw, found my vein on 1st try and didn't have any bruise later. Luckily I didn't pass out as I've done the last 2 times I had blood drawn at another lab . It couldn't have been more simple. Also not sure if they've changed in last 4 months as they used a regular blood draw needle not the butterfly needle (as someone else posted). Atmosphere in office could use some work as it looks dumpy, but not really something to deduct points for. read more

If I could give this place a negative star rating I would. They are COMPETELY incompetent and I recommend you go ANYPLACE else but here!! A family member recently had surgery and is now having some complications, so the doctor wanted to have a test done. This person cannot drive right now, so I went to the Quest Diagnostics office in Andover, which is down the street from their house, but 15 minutes away from me each way. The first time, they had randomly closed, with no notice except a note on the door to the office when I arrived. The second time I went, they said they didn't have the order that the doctor had faxed in and of course we couldn't get the doctor on the phone while we were there, so a second wasted trip. The third time there I finally managed to get the test kit and they said they now had THREE copies of the order! Their outgoing recorded message is useless because they don't update it when they randomly close and it doesn't even have the correct regular hours listed on it. It also SAYS it can connect you to a live person, but it can't, it just disconnects the call when you press that number. Dropping off the sample was a huge hassle, they said they didn't have the contact information for the doctor who sent in the order and when I went back in with the information after having called to get it and being asked to make my call out in the hallway because there were too many people in the waiting room at that point, then magically they DID have the doctor's information!! HELLO, how would a doctor send in an order for a test without including the information about how to contact them and where to send the test results?? The woman was just too lazy to even look at the order, a copy of which was included in the bag with the sample! I asked how long it would take to get the rest results and the woman LIED TO MY FACE!!! She told me a few days, now 4 days later and then end of the week (they're not open on weekends) the doctor finally managed to get a phone number in order talk to a live person and was told they have to send that test out and it can take up to EIGHT DAYS to get the results!! Now my family member has to either continue to suffer for another 5 days, or we have to go to another lab to have the test done!!!! Do not EVER, EVER, EVER go this place!!! read more

I was told I would not be responsible for over $350 of my tests after insurance. These are the same tests I've had in the past but QUEST was much more expensive. I paid the $350 before my test and then got a bill for $27.02. I tried calling Quest and their phone system wouldn't let me get anywhere unless I answered survey questions resulting in a possible prize (REALLY!). I tried hitting "O" and got disconnected, I tried calling back a couple more times trying to get around the survey (requesting personal information) and got the same thing. In other words after 3 call it is apparent they won't talk to me unless I complete their survey. Very poor customer service. The first question had to do with my age. In this age of gathering peoples information and selling it, requiring someone to take a survey providing personal information before they talk to you is a new low! read more
